Gilligan recently said in the podcast that it was him who wanted the split in order to get more time to get the final season right, but the way he said it made it sound like he was covering for AMC to me. Like it was really AMC's decision, but he's taking one for the team. Could be my imagination of course.

I musn't be the only one who thinks all of Walt's shirts are awesome? Especially the ones from S5.

I don't dress like that but I want to someday.
 
When Hank and Walt are talking about hanks previous job. Walt says "I used to love to go camping" cause Hank was talking about a fruitless pursuit with his old job. Good ol' Walt.

So, uh, anyway, what *do* Hank and Marie think Walt has been doing all day long anyway? Has that ever been established? I mean, they know he's not at the car wash, so...

season 5 is like one crazy thing after another after the fallout from season 4 is dealt with (which is pretty quickly). One of the few shows in existence that arguable gets better every single season.

So we're all in agreement that this is basically the biggest plot hole? I mean, it's essentially the show's elephant in the room. A glaring and baffling oversight that *everyone* seems to ignore.
 
Huh? How does Hank know walt isn't at the car wash? I don't recall that ever being said. Only time I remember hank mentioning the wash is when he was basically all nice car...dat car wash money son.

Why would it even be suspicious? Hank and Walt are grown ass men. He probably assumes Walt is either working, chilling, relaxing, reading, resting, crying, etc.....Why would hank ever be suspicious of that.

Just a dude dealing with cancer, his wife cheating on him, his kids away from him, helping run a car wash, etc.

Go back and watch season 1 to remember how innocent everyone sees Walt. We've practically forgotten that side of him.

Maybe Walt does car wash deliveries? You know, people call in, say they want their car washed, and Walt goes over to their house and washes it. Full time job.

I don't know, I'm not sure I'm buying any of that, especially if you take those months into account where Marie and Hank are watching the kids. What the hell is Walt doing during all that time? These guys are close, they're family, they visit each other a lot, Marie shows up at the car wash, Walt meets with Hank. It's clear to everyone that the car wash doesn't need Walt. In all those months, probably nearly a year with Walt being cancer free and in decent shape, no one ever noticed that the guy is *never* at the car wash he supposedly owns? And what about Walter Jr.? Same thing basically, only he's even closer.

He is at the carwash though. He's always trucking in the soda cans filled with money..

I don't think Walt is cooking 8 hours a day 7 days a week. Probably once a week or so.

Hm, maybe you're right. Maybe it bothers me because it's never brought up or we hardly ever see him do *anything* else but cook meth or take care of the meth business in some way. I don't know.
 
I want to see an entire episode dedicated to scenes of Walt managing the car wash employees and restocking the impulse items by the cash register.
