Fighting Games Weekly | September 10-16

So god of war, witcher, heavy rain, ect. Are all ban worthy? :3

No. We make exceptions for games which feature brief nudity with respect to the developer. The nudity in games like God of War or Heavy Rain is not the goal, unlike a straight up porn game. If the game can pass the ESRB sniff test and release to retail shelves, it's alright by us and our advertisers. Porn games, however, do not go through the ESRB which makes them far easier to moderate.

Be honest Jared. You fap to Bayonetta streams.

Makes perfect sense. Though that leaves a few things in a awkward place. Too bad for those though :lol

Team SoCaL! Let's get it on! Work them muscles!

The newer ones would be ok I would assume. Older ones probably a no, same for uncut version which isn't rated I think. Like I said it leaves a few things in a weird position haha.

There is nothing ok about playing the newer games. If anything should get you banned, that is it.

Amazing read by Ryan. My guess is that after Vryu jumped the last fireball he started buffering like crazy and then hit punch as soon as he saw Makoto light up. So it was both a read and reaction IMO. Still pretty amazing that he was able to pull it off though.

Simply amazing stuff

I think TTT2 is going to have a hard time on streams. I personally have a very difficult time spectating 3D games, but no problem playing them, and I think it's due to having to calculate the positioning of both players on screen. When playing the game, you're focusing on your opponent's character and your position relative to it, so its easy to keep track of it in a sense of "you vs me". But without that attention "anchor" on screen, the genre can get kinda messy, with shifting camera angles that make it harder to follow than the standard locked down 2D games.

I would have to agree. Ironically sfxt might help it a bit with character recognition, but other than that I don't think I will want to watch a lot. Everything just tends to blur together for me.

I think 3D fighters are just inherently less spectator-friendly in general. Even if you've never played SF4, you can watch guile fight gief or whatever and understand pretty easily- 'the big burly guy needs to get close to do anything, but when he does, it's scary. the other guy is playing keep-away and is trying to maintain a safe distance.' You can understand the tension in the match. You recognize quickly that when guile is finally backed into the corner, his options are limited and he's in trouble, and that if manages to escape the corner, it's significant. If I watch a 3D fighter on stream that I'm not familiar with, I have absolutely no idea what's going on.

I wanna play your Q.

You wanna play with my what? D:

I'm so rusty now though I havent touched sf3 since the ps3 version first came out :(

Kind of like boxing or MMA

It just looks like two crack fiends getting ready to murder each other. Footsies just don't seem as crazy in 2D fighters.

LOL it does but that's mostly the fault of having to crouch to cancel movements. It's more similar to mvc3 dashing than anything really. It's just the distance traveled isnt as far per dash

Jesus the salt. I love it. Bets on how bad Bum got beat before he started this stream?

Most of what he's saying has an element to truth to it though.

The reason I never really got into Melee was because it was on pad. Haha It was werid since it was popular when SF was in its dark ages and my friends who played melee always wonder I kept "hanging" on to old games. Little did they know SF4 reversed the situation.

I need my sticks!
