Top 10 Best Fighting Game Franchises

You cannot win in Power Stone by attacking your opponent to drain their health. You win by getting the three gems and using them. There are even two winners in Power Stone 2 by default unless two players KO each other simultaneously after the first loser is knocked out. Not a fighting game.
What? Of course, you can. When did you even last play the game? You get the three gems to transform and unleash special attacks or a grab. using power drive or power fusion Otherwise, you can throw objects or KO your opponent with normal attacks once their health is depleted.

Smash Bros isnt a fighting game, its a platform fighter
Power Stone isnt a fighting game, its an arena fighter
Aka, a platform fighting game and an arena fighting game. "Fighter" is a synonym for fighting game. Are there traditional fighting games? No. Are there fighting games? Yes.

There is also fighting in Yakuza games, there is even 1vs1 combat on the arena challenges, but I would never call them fighting games.

Is Devil May Cry a fighting game? What about Punch Out? What about Punch Club?

I dont get the necessity of diluting the fighting game concept more than it already is. Search the "fighting game" tag on Steam and it will come up with anything.

Three weeks ago. Anything short of getting the three gems and using items is futile. Only thing any attacks or throws are good for is making them lose their gems.

Clearly, that's not true.

12:31, he gets a KO by throwing an object. 13:40, he gets a KO by using a spinning kick.

If the main objective of those games was to fight an opponent on relatively equal footing, they would be fighting games, but they aren't. You literally call them fighters, which is a synonym for fighting game. You sure can backtrack if you want.

That is not a spinning kick. It is a pole attack that only works in proximity to the interactive pole in the stage while grounded. If it was a normal throw or attack with no stage hazards it would cause blue damage that would regenerate over time.

And what you said remains incorrect. The only way to KO isn't just by using the three gems and transforming. You can still use objects, environmental hazards, and attacks. Furthermore, being transformed and KO'ing them is no different than using a special move in Def Jam while they're in the red zone.

You said the goal isn't to KO an opponent by draining their health and that's patently incorrect. That's exactly the goal.

You don't even control your character directly in Punch Club, you are a manager that sets up work, training and matches for a NPC...

He literally uses the three gems before the health drops enough to do a finishing interactive/item. A regular attack or throw could be regenerated from. The game does not even have blocking.

"Before the health drops enough" But you said...

Neither Power Stone is about landing attacks or throws on an opponent to drain health.

I mean this is just utterly false and the video demonstrates this. You're just plain lying now.

Your point being? I never played Punch Club, nor did I call it a fighting game. I said DmC and Yakuza aren't fighting games for obvious reason.s

Look again. The damage by attacks leave regeneratable health. Items and interactives do permanent damage. A lot of it. The game is all about getting the three gems.

A top 10 list from WatchMojo... and they think Smash Bros. is a fighting game....
Cringe Reaction GIF

Franchises can vary in quality and few are consistently impressive. Def Jam, Kengo, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, Under Night In-Birth, Injustice, Darkstalkers, and Dead or Alive are the only franchises I can think of that had no misses. I would not say any one of their games blew me away as much as individual fighting game releases without franchises or within franchises of varying quality.
Smash Bros is the only good fighting game.
