Bah you know the worst part about this? Even though announcement is 1 day away, we wont see hardware for a while longer.![]()
So, anyone check their upgrade eligibility? My AT&T account is not eligible. Usually they do move up eligibility prior to a new iPhone release (sometimes before the conference has even happened). Hasn't happened yet, it seems. :\
LOL sorry I should have gone back more pages.Sometimes it feels like this thread is on repeat.
Gah I can't decide between the mini and the 3. And chances are that we won't even see it tomorrow ;-;

Yea. The main thing I am worried about is pixel density and whether or not comics/magazines are good on it.I'm in the same boat. I want a tablet for reading comics, however all rumors account for the Mini screen to be pretty crappy compared to what Apple has been putting out lately. This is also ignoring the smaller screen size for comics but I would think 7.85" should be ok compared to a 7" tablet.
I know the 3 will easily be better for comics but at the same time I like the idea of a smaller tablet and the price of the 3 is just too much.
I'd definitely get an iPad mini over an iPad 3 provided the screen was on par. Such a perfect size, and it'll be lighter too.
comics look great on the ipad 2. Honestly the size and screen will probably be perfect for it, whereas 7" tablets are slightly too small for it. Would be better when the retina mini's come out or whatever, but I definitely don't see any issues for the first one.Yea. Apple's policies for pre-orders of its popular iOS devices have varied over the years, with the iPhone 4S being scheduled for a 12:01 AM Pacific Time launch on the Friday following the media event, although Apple's pre-orders didn't actually begin until nearly 45 minutes after the appointed time.
Last month, iMore reported that pre-orders were scheduled to begin on the same day as the media event, with availability set for nine days later. An exact timeframe for the pre-order launch was not given in the report, but a same-day window likely pointed toward pre-orders going live soon after the event as the Apple online store comes back online.
MacRumors is now hearing that pre-orders may not begin tomorrow following the media event and that they may instead start on Friday morning in a scenario similar to last year's debut. We're hearing that certain portions of Apple's sales support team are significantly increasing their staffing levels beginning at 6:00 AM Eastern on Friday, with a major surge for the initial shift beginning at that time and a sustained level of high staffing for at least the remainder of the day.
It is unclear whether pre-orders would begin immediately at the 6:00 AM shift start or some time shortly afterward, but these staffing levels suggest that customers may have to wait until the end of this week to pre-order their new iPhones for delivery a week later.
since when are specs such a big deal when it comes to iOS. The software will always run great. Also it won't have a shitty cpu/gpu.Those who would switch from 3 to mini, are you not worried that the mini might not have specs as good as the 3?
Looks like iPhone 5 preorders may not start until Friday...
Ah ok so you would reccomend the 3 in my situation for the extra screen real estate?comics look great on the ipad 2. Honestly the size and screen will probably be perfect for it, whereas 7" tablets are slightly too small for it. Would be better when the retina mini's come out or whatever, but I definitely don't see any issues for the first one.

I had assumed the mini would be running similar hardware to the 2 and, with the smaller screen, be better off for it. But I'm assuming it's going to be retina, so will it really be driving less pixels? I'm sure it'll be fine either way.The iPad 2 has worse specs than the 3, yet runs much more consistently.
reading looks awesome on the ipad 3, but the caveat is that it's a bit heavy, so that can be annoying. For comics specifically, it's also a little big (there is a border around the comics). But it's really not a big deal and is amazing for it.Ah ok so you would reccomend the 3 in my situation for the extra screen real estate?
I really hope the new iphone isn't much taller. I have a bunch of casual shirts with pockets that quite perfectly fit my 4. I'm not ridding myself of them for my phone, but I don't want to go droid.

Gotta say the image of the person holding one of the mocked up minis in their hand really is turning me on to it. As is the possible weight difference. I'll wait and see what they show.reading looks awesome on the ipad 3, but the caveat is that it's a bit heavy, so that can be annoying. I think the ipad mini will be awesome for reading stuff. Seems like the perfect size. Won't have the mega resolution of the 3, but it should still look good. All depends what is more valuable for you. Size/form, or quality if what is on screen/price.
