Has anybody tried pre-ordering at Best Buy yet? Not sure if they've started those yet, but I remember pre-ordering my EVO before they had a launch date or anything like that.

Iphone 4/4s, Iphone 5 case, Ipad mini case, Ipad case:

Loving that form factor of the mini iPad. Had a normal ipad but it was way too big and heavy for my taste.

So, anyone check their upgrade eligibility? My AT&T account is not eligible. Usually they do move up eligibility prior to a new iPhone release (sometimes before the conference has even happened). Hasn't happened yet, it seems. :\

Bah you know the worst part about this? Even though announcement is 1 day away, we wont see hardware for a while longer. :(

Hey, at least we're 100% getting pricing and a hard release date for the VERY near future, unlikely all other companies unveiling shit lately who don't happen to think people care about how much the product will be or where they can buy it.

But yeah I agree. I need this ASAP, my phone is driving me up the wall.

I've been eligible on my Verizon account for some time now, my contract would be up in November. Perfect timing, if you ask me.

That mockup 7 inch iPad looks perfect. I have the 3 already, so I won't be getting it if/when it releases, but damn that looks good. Perfect size!

Gah I can't decide between the mini and the 3. And chances are that we won't even see it tomorrow ;-;

I'm in the same boat. I want a tablet for reading comics, however all rumors account for the Mini screen to be pretty crappy compared to what Apple has been putting out lately. This is also ignoring the smaller screen size for comics but I would think 7.85" should be ok compared to a 7" tablet.

I know the 3 will easily be better for comics but at the same time I like the idea of a smaller tablet and the price of the 3 is just too much.

I would be all over that mini-iPad, been waiting for quite a while. Old job loaned me an iPad 2nd gen and I really liked it, but would have preferred it a bit smaller. So if a mini-pad is true.... Woo.

Yea. The main thing I am worried about is pixel density and whether or not comics/magazines are good on it.

I already got a top of the line specced 10inch Android Tablet.

Trying to decide if a iPad mini would still be worth it.

At 200 for sure (wont happen)
At 250 good chance
300, Would have to really shock me with its spec to consider, or wait for 2nd gen.

comics look great on the ipad 2. Honestly the size and screen will probably be perfect for it, whereas 7" tablets are slightly too small for it. Would be better when the retina mini's come out or whatever, but I definitely don't see any issues for the first one.

Looks like iPhone 5 preorders may not start until Friday...

Apple's policies for pre-orders of its popular iOS devices have varied over the years, with the iPhone 4S being scheduled for a 12:01 AM Pacific Time launch on the Friday following the media event, although Apple's pre-orders didn't actually begin until nearly 45 minutes after the appointed time.

Last month, iMore reported that pre-orders were scheduled to begin on the same day as the media event, with availability set for nine days later. An exact timeframe for the pre-order launch was not given in the report, but a same-day window likely pointed toward pre-orders going live soon after the event as the Apple online store comes back online.

MacRumors is now hearing that pre-orders may not begin tomorrow following the media event and that they may instead start on Friday morning in a scenario similar to last year's debut. We're hearing that certain portions of Apple's sales support team are significantly increasing their staffing levels beginning at 6:00 AM Eastern on Friday, with a major surge for the initial shift beginning at that time and a sustained level of high staffing for at least the remainder of the day.
It is unclear whether pre-orders would begin immediately at the 6:00 AM shift start or some time shortly afterward, but these staffing levels suggest that customers may have to wait until the end of this week to pre-order their new iPhones for delivery a week later.

I wouldnt mine this. Have class around the announcement.

Question though, if I'm planning on getting put on my family plan from my own plan, what information do I need at the time of purchase/preorder?

Ah ok so you would reccomend the 3 in my situation for the extra screen real estate?

Just been paid, so I'll probably pre-order on the day.

If not, does anyone recall if the 4S had significant supply issues after launch? How long did it take for you to be able to have it shipped within 24 hours?

Are options to upgrade directly through Verizon and AT&T usually made available through their site the day new iPhones go on sale, or do you have to go directly though Apple's site typically?

I really hope the new iphone isn't much taller. I have a bunch of casual shirts with pockets that quite perfectly fit my 4. I'm not ridding myself of them for my phone, but I don't want to go droid.

DONT MAKE ME CHOOSE APPLE!!11

The iPad 2 has worse specs than the 3, yet runs much more consistently.
I had assumed the mini would be running similar hardware to the 2 and, with the smaller screen, be better off for it. But I'm assuming it's going to be retina, so will it really be driving less pixels? I'm sure it'll be fine either way.

Aw, I wont be near a Best Buy Friday-the weekend.

If I go through Best Buy, via Verizon, can I pre-order online? Do they then ship the phone to me?

I never understood Samsung's marketing strategy of insulting the people (Apple fans) than they want to convert. Does it actually work? I don't see it. And before someone brings up the Mac vs PC ads, don't. The concept was completely different, it was using humor to compare/contracts the products themselves personified, not directly attacking/mocking the users of those products.

reading looks awesome on the ipad 3, but the caveat is that it's a bit heavy, so that can be annoying. For comics specifically, it's also a little big (there is a border around the comics). But it's really not a big deal and is amazing for it.

I think the ipad mini will be awesome for reading stuff. Seems like the perfect size. Won't have the mega resolution of the 3, but it should still look good. All depends what is more valuable for you. Size/form, or quality if what is on screen/price.

So, this is my first time being one of you guys pre-ordering an idevice. I'm with Sprint and my contract is up, just month to month now. Is my best bet to pre-order on apple.com and then get the phone there? They'll activate it for me there I take it? Or should I just pre-order at Best Buy? If I do the latter, do I have to go by there and do it?

I'm trying to upgrade my current dutch T-Mobile plan to the new iPhone the moment it hits.

Any NL-gaffers got an idea how best to tackle this? The 2-year contract on my 3GS has expired for a long time now and i'm eligible for a new phone, but I have been waiting for the iPhone 5 to actually do it.

Anyone have experience with this stuff?

just look at the picture at the top of this page, it's slightly taller.

Gotta say the image of the person holding one of the mocked up minis in their hand really is turning me on to it. As is the possible weight difference. I'll wait and see what they show.

Now the iPhone 5 will stick out of your shirt pocket a tiny bit so you can take spycam shots of everyone you meet.

A win-win situation if I ever seen one.
