The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

i actually thought the borderlands QLEX was ok, sure it wasnt full of laughs but not all quick looks are, some of them are pretty dry. Jeff asked some good questions and the dude was likeable enough.

there are some real bad QLEXes where the person is terrible at talking on camera and the whole thing is just painful.

How many episodes of the NDX are there? iTunes is only showing ten but I remember an episode that had Brad and Vinny on it and I can't find it.

The period of time where the Bombcast had the ridiculous voices for the Nintendo download games were the darkest of times for the Bombcast. That segment was terrible. It made for a good storyline when Jeff spun it off, but man those segments were terrible.

Hell naw, NDX was the best.

What? What am I reading. Jeff being giving cart blance to go even crazier was awesome, it should have stayed and become a regular thing.

The early times where it was just Ryan reading them normally and everybody making fun of it was fine. It was when the awful voices started that the dark times began.
Talking about awful voices, Jeff doing Australian Brad is my favourite GB-related running gag atm.

Those are the circumstances that precipitate a QLEX essentially 100% of the time, in case it wasn't clear.

EDIT: That Borderlands EX is the most-viewed video of the last seven days, despite being only two days old. We're well aware there's a difference in tone between regular QLs and the EX variety, and that they often end up serving somewhat different purposes. You guys may not know it, but typically the choice is between a Quick Look EX or no Quick Look at all. It's not like we always have a build of a game sitting there in the office with no coverage restrictions on it that we could be recording however we want.

I find the reasoning understandable, but it does nothing for my desire to actually watch them.

It feels like the difference between regular impressions and the Japanese magazine industry's advertorials, personally.

Australian? You aren't very good with accents, are you? Or colloquialisms.

I always thought it was a weird mix between Australian and British accents. I associate the word "blimey" more with Australian slang than British -- even if its origin isn't Australian.

And, for what it's worth, I'm Australian.

The Tekken QL was good, but I didn't like how quickly the health bars went down and the online competition seems too tough. I have fond memories of Tekken 3, but I think I'll stick to P4 Arena.

Brad is from the south, so an Australian accent makes sense.

Quick Look: NHL 13 (50:51) Jeff and Vinny!
