Unless someone lets go of the stick, that combo wouldn't be possible on a player mashing side exchange. It's super impractical.

It's about the coolness man, and the ideas. Notice Doom uses both side and down exchange. It may be impractical now but, down the line this can be another thing to watch out for. Although I'm not sure if this is an expansion on old tech or new.

Seems like all I ever hear about Iron Man is based off of theory. I can count the number of good players who use Iron Man on one hand, and I don't recall half of them setting tournaments on fire.
Alukard blew up MarlinPie in his prime in the Vanilla exhibition. He also places fairly consistently at Big Two. Made top 4 at the last one I think.

Just because it's a specialist character doesn't mean you have to expect him to be popular or have a fraud following.

EDIT: What happens if you up-exchange during that glitch? Does your copy turn into Koryu edition?

This is basically an application of like 3-4 techs. Thing is that why would you do a combo that spans multiple tacs when you can kill the opponent with one? Multiple tacs mean multiple chances to break the combo. It's basically like a snap back combo or like those new crossover counter combos with the Joe bomb assist. It's purely for styling or disrespecting someone.

What exactly have I said about Iron Man that strikes you as theory? Everything I have said about Iron Man is based off of tournament footage and play (mostly from Alukard, Joker and Danke)plus what is generally basic information among IM players. It's not like anyone is saying IM is some theory high/top character, he is not but all the people saying he is like bottom 5-8 are full of shit and don't really understand the character or even know about his tools.

There is a while slew of IM gimmicks and tech that is still in theory fighter territory so I have never really brought it up.

Just asked Marlinpie "Marlinpie why are you not adjusting you team to deal with zoning? Like using HIdden MIssiles or something?"

He answers the question on stream with:

"I don't know, I don't want to win that badly." Then something like 'not to sound like a pussy, but I'd rather win with my stuff' or something along those lines.

Then says the last time he was in training mode was 3 weeks before evo.

I'm gonna go bang my head against my wall for awhile.

I'm about to test it out. :P

EDIT: It whiffs. :<

That Magneto/IM/Sentinel team that alukard and joker runs is really damn good, its pretty surprising.

Yeah, he's been on autopilot for a while unfortunately. :(

I really don't like teams built heavily around momentum and incoming lockdown set ups in this game at a high level. (aka most Zero teams) They'll get lots of "easy" wins, but I don't think they hold up at the top tier.

It's probably the best IM team out so far, only close second would be replacing Sentinel with Doom. IM gets insane mileage out of Drones and is also really good at protecting Drones himself. I am surprised Alukard hasn't put that together himself.

It's a very powerful tool to have on your team but you also need some stuff in the neutral too. You need an assist to help you get the initial hit and you need an assist to maintain pressure once you do. MarlinPie's team is essentially one touch = very high chance of winning the entire round. The Plasma Beam is the neutral assist, it's good but against super jumpers it doesn't cut it of course.

I agree.

It's so damn good for all 3 characters.

I actually screwed around with Sent anchor against Nils this past week too. It would make my team better but ugh I don't like relying on Sent.

I lost it when we made it to his LoTR death and stream chat was all "TRIPLE ARROW!"

Does Sentinel get anything out of Repulsar Blast assist? I've seen them both use that or unibeam and I think Repulsar is better, but who knows.

On incoming characters at least, Sentinel can fly and pull out the assist and continually switch sides above the incoming character, that nasty stuff. Though otherwise it just requires people to give Sentinel even more respect while going offensive against him. Sentinel benefits the least from the team though, that's for sure.

Repulsar is better for the absolutely stupid Magneto mix ups alone. Alukard usually uses Unibeam instead of Repulsar but he really needs to switch to Repulsar.

I would watch Jaxel vs. Jiyuna FTDeath

EDIT: OOOH THAT P

MAMESAIDER LIVES

EDIT: Break is having an ultimate skill grand finals.

No assists, no tags, no supers, final destination. 1v1. Character kill equals a win. FT5.

ah nice, so the way to fuck up the team order is try your luck at snapping in sentinel, who will just harddrive out of your mixup and then you have repulsar and Magneto's beam supporting him. not too shappy.

Repulsar Blast is one of the best assists for Sentinels. People love to "climb the tree" and Repulsor Blast protects that space. Plus if one of the beams hits its an easy mode kill combo for Sentinel. And of course incoming mix ups and general space control.

Hasn't Socal in general beasts on Norcal in everything?
yeah but your post seemed to come out of nowhere and it looked like you were responding to somebody but i couldn't figure out who. oh and yeah team norcal is in for a bruising which is why i made this gif. :P
