Wow, I'm glad they bothered with all the Schism shit and restarting Uncanny just to burn it to the ground in a year to make way for His Royal Fucking Highness 'Do Whatever the Fuck I Want' Bendis.

Now I'm starting to realize why all the DC-nauts were butthurt last year when Tec and Action got wiped, but at least that was in service of brand wide unity. Marvel seemingly just doesn't even give a shit about anything anymore.

Edit: So I know the answer is just going to be "Because Marvel" but why didn't they just let Bendis take over Uncanny and at least keep the name? I'm surprised how much it bothers me that there isn't going to be a comic called "Uncanny X-Men" coming out anymore.

I don't see All New X-Men being big. It will probably do well the first month, then people will remember that it stars the most boring team in the history of comics. And once the "hey, lookit this craaazy future!" novelty wears off, what then?

That last UXF panel. It might sound weird coming from someone who reads X-Force but I hope it all ends well.

I also picked up AvX, this really feels like a 12 part character assassination. What pisses me off is that at the end of the day, everyone will feel all self righteous having beaten the bad guy and will throw under the rug every good thing he's done the past few years.

Welp, comixology has gotten me back into reading comics on a weekly basis.

AvX 11 Spoilers:

So how many deaths and apparent deaths does this make for Xavier now? Seems like they kill, comatose, or banish Professor X every 5 years. He'll be back, and Cyclops will eventually be redeemed. Both are too popular to stay off the table forever.

I liked a lot of the art in this issue. Has Coipel been announced on one of the Marvel Now books yet?

I'd agree if we didn't have the example of
Jean, who's still dead (which I'm more than okay with TBH)

"There are no snowflakes in Hell"

Goddamn, Magik

I can't BELIEVE Gillen is being replaced by Bendis. He's gets handed crappy status quos and shitty events and spins it into gold year in and year out. Journey Into Mystery and UXM event tie-ins should not be NEARLY as good as they turned out to be.

T Bolts cover.

Edit: I did not even see Venom there at first. lol

Terrible logo, amazing creative team.

Can't wait.

I can stand Dillion's 4-5 faces and flat artwork when he's got Aaron or Ennis to show off his solid storytelling chops, but I cross the the line at Daniel Way. That dog won't hunt.

I remembering them saying "We're allowing artists more creativity in their cover designs! This is a new era of Marvel Comics!"

And it's just the same old covers but with this ugly-ass banner on the bottom of all of them

I like Steve Dillon's Preacher and Punisher work, but the rest of his mainstream stuff has been hit or miss for me. Definitely one of those artists who needs to be on the right type of project to shine.

I wonder if the red motif on that Thunderbolts team is just artistic license for the cover or if it reflects how the team looks in the interior art. I sort of like it. Ties Venom and the Punisher in with the other three who are red by default. I am also curious to see how they justify having those specific characters cooperating together on the same team.

I can't stop rereading todays Uncanny X-Men. So many good moments.

"There are no snowflakes in hell" - A++++
"This steak is very good" - A+++
"We made love in our minds as he rained fire down on Wakanda" - A++

Absolutely pathetic that Gillen brah's run is ending. Hes a fuking storytelling artist, not a dialogues like Bendis.
Are the Buffy comics better than the show, only watched it for SMG's beauty? Hated the creature designs, which Whedon brought with him to the Avengers.

They gave ol' General Thunderbolt Ross an excuse to be something other than a piece of shit, and he took it. Power to him.

I wasn't digging todays Uncanny X-Force. Good, but unless
Daken betrays everyone, this just seems weird. Why is acting all father-son with Sabretooth? I liked how they are throwing Fantomex's body around to scare the shit out of Genesis though. And Noto's art is amazing.

X-Men Legacy was a pile of shit, as usual. Probably one of the most boring arcs on that series, ever.

Better than the show? Nope. Only good if you liked the show, and even then, it's a little bit of a rollercoaster at times. Some really enjoyable arcs in the beginning half of Season 8 with a bad final two arcs. Season 9 got off to a bad start and recovered.

Yo, speaking of Gillen, gosh dang Everything Burns is breaking my fucking heart every fucking week. It's the worst but also the best.

Also, you guys, Batman And Robin #0 is a goddamn tour de force. That Tomasi manages to keep up with Grant fucking Morrison will always astound me, and Patrick Gleason is good at drawing Damian being the best fucking kid.

I need to get back into that dang book.

AvX #11....

...goddamnit, Cyclops

Have you read WatX?

Cyclops: "We don't kill children Emma!!!"
Kade: "No you're just the guy who leads then to war..."

Cyclops: "There's no place in the new world for people like you!"
Kade: "Spoken like a true facist, keep it up Summers I'm starting to admire you!"

Bwa-hahahaha!

Poor Scottie can't have a break!

Betsy's rant to Logan about double standards was pretty spot on. And I can't find fault with a book that makes me care about a young Apocalypse from a virtual Smallville. I'll be pissed off if they kill him off/make him go bad though. I guess I could see Evan heroically sacrificing himself and with that act putting an end to the cycle of killing though. Thematically, that could make sense and bring some closure.

I'll miss this book. :(

Man...Uncanny X-Force is just amazing...I'll miss this book sooo much...

Anyone with a twitter account should ask Remender now that he is out of the book if we'll ever see Dr. Mindbubbles...

This is almost Iron Man in Civil War level "turning a character into a douche". All we need is for Cyke to create a Nightcrawler clone that kills a guy.

Now that I've read the issue (was just going off the spoiler posted online before), I take back the almost part. This totally Stark in Civil War level.
"Oh I'm just gonna choke out my girl so I can steal her power and use it to kill my mentor/father figure. And I'm going to whine the whole time.

Jeez. lmao

Good show on the X-books this week, but a special shout out to the best Fantastic Four issue I've read in years. Bite-sized Hickman tales told with Stegmans awesome art is exactly what I'd want from the book, but that shits out for the rebrand :(

Not sure how Secret Avengers would continue with that Thunderbolts lineup there, which looks awesome but has super dubious creatives attached.

I am really enjoying Marvel right now, despite the AvX turd in the room. The shake up feels like its gonna piss me off more than entice.

So I just finished chapter XII of Watchmen. Holy fuck, this is easily the best comic I've ever read. The writing is on another level. Night Owl just fucked Laurie and now he says he wants to go break out Rorschach! Getting intense! I loved the part where they saved the little girl and she's like "Mom? Is that guy in the space ship Jesus?"

I was wondering, why is Nixon extended in office and still in there in '85? Like what significance does it have to the story?

Because of Manhattan, the US resoundingly won Vietnam. Meaning he was able to parlay that into changing the rules behind the US Presidency.

So basically the nation was so high on him he was able to channel that into changing the 22nd amendment and get 2 more terms in the presidency? Does Moore imply that this has an effect on the state of the country domestically and also its foreign affairs?

It's part of one of the overarching themes of the book, which is that just the mere presence of superheroes would change everything about our lives. One as omnipotent as Dr. Manhattan running around at the whims of the US government would have created an unparalleled tool for a politician such as Nixon to exploit to his advantage. "Who watches the Watchmen" And while they're being watched, who's watching the people in office? This is sort of shown in the panel where he clears away the protestors at the president's command. What kind of protest can feasible take place if you can be removed with a wave of a hand?

Yeah I really like that theme. The Dr. Manhattan chapter was so deep and moving for that.
