Torchlight II - Launching September 20th

Ef that! No controller support = no buy. I'm tired of cheap games causing me to spend money rebuying expensive mice because a perfectly good $100 mice has a broken clicker!

Bottom Line: Without a controller, T2 is a $120 proposition I ain't willing to take.

Just buy a 7$ mouse? Not like this game requires a competitive gaming mouse.

I play all my PC games with an ÂŁ8 mouse. I will be clicking on enemies and clicking on loot, why do I need any more than what I already have?

And that is Runics problem how?
Come on you can't fold a company for your broken mouse.
Just get a cheap replacement mouse in the main time.

If they want my money it is :|

I can't use cheap mice... they chafe my sensitive skin and I've grown accustomed to playing this on the controller... I can't go back. I won't :( I'd even buy the game on the mere promise of controller support because I want to give them my money more than anything but, like Brad said, "Cuddy don't run
no charity and China don't care
!"

we don't want your money.

Also i got an email from Perfect World Entertainment. For those that preordered from them. They are releasing the code for TL2 and the Neverwinter bet key on the 20th.

A cheap mouse chafes your skin?
That's the stupidest thing I've heard all week.

You work at Runic?

what a horrible troll.

This is what qualifies as a troll around here now? Listen! The original Torchlight played extremely well with a controller... so much so that I don't enjoy click-fests anymore. This is my preferred style of control now for these styles of game and I'm not alone on it.

I'm surprised that they're releasing without that support and it's unfortunate. Hey, I'm happy for Runic that they're finally shipping the game but hopefully they realize that I'm not alone in my opinion; lots of people feel this way.

I was being facetious.

I completely get you man. It's like when I use public transport, since my limo is in for a service, I always end up taking some air pillows with me. God knows which cretin sat there before me.

Odd reasoning considering you can buy a decent mouse for a lot less than 100 bucks. Also are you using your controller to browse your OS?

is Torchlight 2 the biggest "hardcore/permadeath" game release of the year? I guess D3 also has hardcore mode, but any other games this year feature it? (die once and lose the character)

theres a thread on a far off land where those people are asking for controller support. you should go post there.

I stop posting... I've expressed what I wanted to. My opinion seems to be having an adverse affect on this thread. I'm a fan too and assumed that with all the extra, they may have worked in controller support for the game. I'll be waiting till they do.

It's just that I prefer these types of games with controllers. I've actually gone through about 4 mice in 3 years and that's just with work alone. I currently use the Performance MX and it's not a cheap mouse. I'd rather not replace it in 10 months if I can help it :(

Darksider 2 had that mode aswell.

To bad they chose the same date as borderlands. I have it pre-orderd for ages but now it has to wait even longer.

Pretty stoked, not really a Borderlands guy, so I'm skipping that in favor of this. Little sad there wont be any crafting, but the gem-upgrade removal is wonderful.

Y/N/Mabey is there any skill that's as brokenly OP as Ember Lance was in Torchlight 1?

In the beta I was using this passive ability on the Engineer that caused a fire based chain lightening effect when you hit someone with a melee attack.

I wouldnt say it was OP but after pumping it up I was sailing through Act with no trouble. Im talking full room clears in a couple swings.

Wow, click on this thread expecting some impressions and I've got some goof ball saying Runic is somehow on the line for his new mouse. I'd really like to be riding that train of logic to see where it went off the tracks to stupidtown.

Not that fun tbh. Player wants controller ability, runic doesn't provide support for it, community berates his decision, player defends it by using a humourers response and all aboard the stupid choo choo.

Btw there is a livestream on gamespot if you'd like some impressions.

Just watched the livestream. Gameplay looks solid. I will not be buying because the art style is too cartoony and the gameplay doesn't look like it has much depth at all (looks like there are no targeted spells like in TL1).

Still for $20 it looks like a solid buy for people who like the art and don't mind not being able to target spells.
