Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate announced for Wii U/3DS, coming to West, no 3DS online

no online in the 3ds version? fuck how hard is it to implement online play in the handheld for fucks sake.

ACE has left the city
Awwww :(

Welcome back! :)

Awwww :(

What would the Monster Hunter 3 experience be without the emotional rollercoaster of network instability. It's a feature like any other. Some people just know how to use it more often :P

Jason left the city
Damn it to hell!

Yeah, then some jerk walks in and takes Jason's spot and won't leave no matter how much you plead with him.

Good times.

I wish Nintendo would make tunneling software for the Wii-U, wouldn't help in this situation, but it'd certainly be a nice feature. Got so much use out of it with the PSP/PS3.

Is there a high res version of this with the Ultimate logo? All I have is the Ultimate logo on a white background.

Ahh shit, will get the HD version for home and 3DS version for the train.

I fucking love crossplay games now, and hope everyone continues on this path.

I couldn't find what you were looking for, so I just pasted the logo over the existing background. Pardon the sloppiness, and I apologize that the resolution isn't as high as you wanted.

Don't diss my waifu. >:(
Green Guildie > Red Guildie

dat giggle

It hurts seeing the little attention this thread receives compared to the Bayonetta 2 thread. I have a bad feeling that MH3 Ultimate is going to bomb horribly on both consoles never to be seen again on the west :(
Most of that thread is bickering and port begging. All the MH bickering and port begging was done in several different threads in the past few months. :x

What can we do to make people notice how awesome this franchise is? Hope Nintendo market these with everything they got.

can someone please explain the significance of this announcement? i'm all for nintendo and they being successful 150%, but i've never played a single monster hunter game and only know by seeing charts how successful mh is in japan (worldwide too?). i can see this is a big deal, i'm just honestly asking why in order to understand better myself.

This is awesome, considering I never played MH3 much because it always looked ugly on my HD-TV.:(

Soo buying this day-one.

It's significant for Monster Hunter fans in the west since, well, they're actually releasing it here.

It's also significant in a sense that having a MH game at launch gives a certain "wanna play Monster Hunter? get a Nintendo console" sign to Japanese fans. The WiiU version won't be a million seller but still a pretty solid launch title.

Crap now I gotta get a wiiu for this shit but i'm hype! I'm glad I don't have to buy the 3ds version of the game with no online.

I like handhelds and all, but anything that gets MH on a damn console is significant to me. It's a series where I want a real controller and a large display and not to suck my batteries down in a couple hours with WiFi. Although, I still wanted the 3DS version to be online since it'll be a bit before I snap on a Wii-U, too much software to buy to justify a new platform.

I was so bummed out when we didn't get Dos back in the day.

I'm reserving judgement until I see how much this game has been expanded from Tri.

We know how expanded it is, it's been out in Japan (on 3DS) since December.

  • 50 big monsters, up from Tri's 18.
  • 22 small monsters, up from Tri's 17.
  • 12 weapon classes, up from Tri's 8.
  • Shakalaka joins Cha-Cha as a helper NPC.
  • Target Camera for vaguely Zelda-like lock-on.
  • Customizable HUD and menus.
  • Dynamic shadows (instead of blob shadows.)
  • Additional G-rank difficulty level.
  • Accompanying armor and weapon sets for the new monsters.
  • Downloadable missions.

Aw, I was hopin' they had Felynes. Hate those things from Tri. Guess I'm thinking of Portable 3rd.

I once said I was done with monster hunter.

How foolish I was.
