Not a collection, just that single post set me off big time. After that there was another flaming incident and the reply PM you sent me then cemented the fact that you really are two-faced and can't be trusted. I don't care whether you are sarcastic or not.

I see. In what way am I "two faced?" Can you be more descriptive?

*It's not like wall of shames where posts could easily be taken out of context or added just for the hell of it are any better.

Alright.... might be time for you to call it a morning man. C'mon now.

I point out a flamer through PM who gets away with anything, you claim that you know that he's a repeat offender and then you accuse me of borderline backseat modding. And now you're being sarcastic about all of this?

Whatever, I've said all I wanted to say. I actually respected you as a mod before all of this happened.

I was entirely serious about my statement and wasn't being sarcastic at all :p

Cursed internet, I always forget inflections on the words in my head don't translate to text.

Heh, I just read everything on GAF in a joke voice in my head anyway, rarely take anything seriously online... unless it's Dark Souls :P

Nintendo just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U, nor will they purchase any of Nintendo's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Nintendo has alienated an entire market with this move.

Nintendo, publicly apologize and produce Bayonetta 2 for 360 and PS3 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I'm not really sure if you are serious here, but where did either Nintendo or Platinum put any shame on them?

Sega canceled the game and every publisher (for example Sony or even Microsoft) could have funded it, but Nintendo did. If someone brought shame to himself it was Sega to cancel the game or Sony / Microsoft with not founding it for exclusivity to their console.

Nintendo said, they try to go for the hardcore with the WiiU, so this move is absolutlely honest imo

Still gets 'em.

The reaction from the internet is pathetic. I'm just happy the game is even seeing the light of day. I come in here and read about death threats (not from Gaf)? Really? I go to watch the trailer on YouTube and it's flagged???? It must be nine year olds acting like this. Certainly not full grown adults.

What page is the "steal or games" post on? This thread is moving way too fast for me to keep up.

That's a meme going way back to the FFXIII days.

Here you go.

Man, if the original game and OT received as much attention as this thread, maybe Bayo would have sold enough in NA so that Bayo2 would have come out for current gen consoles. It sold what, 350k or something?

This many pages on GAF and rage across the internet for a sequel to a mediocre game that sold poorly....I am honestly surprised.

1 year with my activated account and about 6 years reading these threads, but I always thought most of what people write (like when the FF13 Xbox Release happened) were jokes.

I really have a lot to criticize about the WiiU, like the weak support from western developers(at least from my point of view right now), but somehow a lot of people really seem to have some kind of genuine hate against the WiiU. It kinda reminds me of the times when I was 6 years old and people just hated the competitor, because they could only afford one console.

You know there is like a pile of banned accounts in closed, legendary threads? You havent been here long enough or have managed to stay out of the volcano threads

Haha, that meme still delivers.

I am genuinely shocked that it took this long for someone to make this post, haha. 10/10

your junior hazing is complete

it didn't ;)

Backseat modding is explicitly against the rules, yes. Can you describe what "all of this" is? If "all of this" represents every post I ever made, then no. If "all of this" refers to the times I specifically and explicitly state that I'm being sarcastic, then yes.

I don't know how other people do jokes, because I seem to fail miserably every time. I mean, even when I specifically state that I'm being sarcastic, or when I compare people to iridescent lighting, people apparently take it seriously. Not sure what more I could do to make it clear. Regardless, you can certainly see why I maintain an objective, reasonable attitude in most cases when my attempts to be funny apparently fail so terribly.

Hehehe.

So I just thought of something: Bayonetta 1 special edition for the Wii U

I really hope 2 sells well so we can see that.

Yessssssss

With better everything than the PS3 version, which is the version I own.

Just... just don't make me unlock everything a third time.

I really can't wait to see the Iwata asks for this game. I'd like to see how this game is ending on Wii U. As for me, it's not my kind of game. I'll try it first.

It's complete bullshit that any sort of statement had to be made. Anyone calling themselves a fan of Platinum or Bayonetta and then complaining about their "favored" franchise being saved can go jump in an active furnace. They don't deserve an explanation for something so self explanatory, nor for making a decision where literally everyone wins.

Yeah as funny as those meltdowns are to watch from the sidelines, the bad aftertaste is just depressing at times.

No wonder Game publishers present childish shit like Tomb Raider or God of War as mature, given that the "Mature" gamer populations has so many shit faced hypocrits acting like 5 year olds.

I can understand the expressions of dissapointment, as ridiculous and childish as many of them were formulated, but the death threats really go way off the deep end. This guy should be actually prosecuted for making this threat. Get his IP and sue his ass. This isn't just bad form, it's downright criminal.

He's going in for the kill

If this were my goal, I'd simply ban him. I could absolutely ban someone for calling a mod a "two faced" person who "can't be trusted," and there would be no issue. He's already done enough to "kill" himself, if my goal were simply that.

I like to understand criticisms of myself and my behavior. Self analysis is always important and people with aggressive criticisms should be welcomed, in my opinion -- as long as those criticisms can be supported with reason and evidence, which is precisely what I asked him to do.

I must admit this is an advertising gold mine for Nintendo. Anyone interested in buying a Wii u would sit up and take notice of a game exclusive that made this much backlash. If Nintendo does this right, it may actually end up selling quite well if the game is actually good.

For anyone just joining this thread, I think I can sum it up pretty quickly...

PS360 fans didn't buy Bayonetta which is why no one would publish it for a sequel.

Now PS360 fans are upset because they can't continue to not buy Bayonetta 2 because it'll be on Wii U, a system they are vehement on not getting anyways.

Horrible generalization.

Some people are whacked out and posting mindless, angry thoughts. Some of us are sorta surprised and a little bummed that Bayonetta 2 isn't on a console that we would buy more software for.

I wouldn't even want Bayonetta 2 on 360/PS3, I would want it on 720/PS4. Why? I want to see Bayonetta running on powerful hardware. This mentality also that you're only a fan of a series if you're willing to buy new hardware just to play it is such a weird way to denounce if someone is a fan or isn't. I buy a console that has a wide array of software I initially want and roll with it, I've never gotten a new console to play just one game. I only buy a console for one game when it comes to being a collector or playing consoles released before this generation.

It's completely and easily understandable that Nintendo most likely saved Bayonetta 2 from cancellation and it's good the series doesn't die, but not being able to voice your opinion without "Deal with it" posts and the other switch and bait attacks is pathetic. The wall of shame collection is also childish and immature, the best way to stop bad discussion is to make a spectacle of it?

If it makes you feel better, the same poster recently directed a weirdly passive aggressive comment towards me, apparently I made a tounge-in-cheek comment one or two years ago on here that really stuck with him. I guess he has a very good memory, among other things.

But we're veering way off topic here, I'll just leave it at that.

Holy fuck @ the saltiness and the bitter tears over Bayonetta being a WiiU exclusive. "Hardcore" gamers complain about the lack of 3rd party exclusives on WiiU, but when it actually happens, the dudebros go apeshit.

I seriously questioned being a member of the gaming community after seeing what took place on twitter yesterday involving this game. Absolutely disgusting and pathetic.

tbh all of the crazies have been driven out long ago. Now it's just people making fun of what the crazies did before and sometimes unfairly making fun of the reasonable people who are disappointed.

If it makes you feel better most communities go batshit insane over the tiniest things too.

Where is this coming from?

The people making death threats and saying other irate things are some of the Bayonetta 1 fans, not "dubdebros".

Yeah, I was thinking of this. Every WiiU owner who didn't know Bayonetta (which is a lot of people) will be intrigued to try this.

Guys, c'mon do this over PMs. I think it could derail things.

On topic: I love that meme, always manages to get somebody hahaha.

I think the best argument -- in response to the specific quote you posted -- is that the "PS3/360 fans" who did not buy Bayonetta are likely not the "PS3/360 fans" who are in this thread.

By and large, at least. I'm sure there are a few crazy people, as there always are. He's essentially making a false logical conclusion: because most PS3/360 fans did not buy Bayonetta, therefore the specific fans in this thread also did not buy Bayonetta. That is not likely to be the case. While the game did indeed do poorly on the Ps3/360, some people did buy it, and those people are likely to be disproportionately represented in this thread.
