Would it be frowned upon to give away Windows 8 keys off Dreamspark, with the note that people procure the .ISOs themselves?

I was under the impression MS makes the installer available? If you have the release preview installed can't you "upgrade" to full from in there? Maybe you can't do that by just entering a key? If there are no issues with giving a key away, I would gladly put my name in the hat for one :)

Settle down guys, I have two - One 64-Bit and one 32-Bit, I just wanted to hear the NeoGAF consensus on giving away the keys like that and having people download Windows 8 on their own, sounds like a EULA break ( which I don't care about ) I just didn't want to get banned or anything :P

As the interest is pretty high I'll just make it a lottery giveaway. Quote this and give me your reason for wanting the key. Not looking for any specific reasons but I'd like to root out the "Duh, just to test it". People who are genuinely interested in using it, to not waste the key.
Also specify which key you want.

NOTE: I used the 64-Bit key once on a test installation of my own, put it in during installation but not sure if it activated or not. In any case, it should be good for more activations as I'm not using it any more and won't be using. So if you get the key and there's some funky going on, you know why.

Will go work out and watch some Top Gear, I'll return later and send out some keys.

Hey Sethos, may I have one please? The 64-Bit PLEASE

EDIT: My reason is because I own a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit (legal) and I was thinking on changing to 64-Bit, so this could be the opportunity to test my CPU on a 64-Bit OS, and I really like how does Windows 8 looks

So Thank you very much before hand!

wow windows 8 keys would be very hamdy as just had to buy a new laptop hdd for an install and was looking at buying win7 but its expensice still

Would like to build a new PC and whatnot... that's about it.

Edit:
And don't the keys work for either one? I remember using my x86 Vista key to install x64 a while ago.

We're in the middle of upgrading my girl's computer so I can get her on steam and get her WoW and SWTOR accounts back up. Her HD crashed and we're basically starting over from scratch. She was still running xp. So far we've got a ton of new stuff for her that could all take advantage of a 64 bit operating system. And I can't send her back to xp, but I don't want to dish out 120-150 for windows 7. And I want my girl to game with me. lol

If you can hook it up, great, if not, that's cool. Thanks for the opportunity.

I've been using the release preview and have been stuck using the 32-bit version (windows to go is only stable on 32-bit and didn't want to install the release preview on my main partition) and would like to upgrade to 64-bit so I can install all of the 64-bit programs I need and make the upgrade final.

I'd like a 64-bit key. I can't afford to buy a new PC or update it much, but I have an old tablet PC running on Vista 32-bit (laptop supports 64-bit since it is Core 2 Duo). I would like to use the new interface designed for tablets as well as update to a 64-bit OS at the same time.

I'm probably far to late but I'd like a key if possible. I'd like to use it on my laptop 64-bit version I have the Customer Preview on it and have started getting used to Win8.

May I have one, as well, if available Sethos?

I'll go for a 64-bit version.

Reason? To test it out, duh!
I kid!

To be honest, the Release Preview got me hyped for the full version, and I'd love to have a key to install on my PC.

EDIT 2: Here's a quick drawing of me if I got the key.

You guys need to read the second post I made, still going if you want in - Won't be handing them out for another hour or two :)

After that I'm throwing out some first come first served Windows server, Office suite, Vista keys and other MS goodies :P But maybe tomorrow.

I always found it hilarious how people on the internet are too lazy to read the entire post before commenting.

I would love a key because my pc come with vista, and well that explains everything Windows 8 64 bit

Sethos, please enter me (lol) for the (wow even (lol) looks dirty) 64 bit key for windows 8.
I have been looking forward to Windows 8 for quite some time, and think that it will be a great fit for my touch screen laptop.
This will be the first year in a long time that I do not have access to student pricing for Windows when the new one hits.

As posted earlier, my specific reason for wanting the 64-Bit key, is because I have Windows 7 32-Bit, and I want to change it for a 64-Bit, also I know (correct me if I'm wrong) that Windows 8 problably will be compatible with some 360 games, so I'm interested in that option too, I really like how Windows 8 looks, so I won't waste the key, I really like the Windows 8 64-Bit version.

Thank you before hand!

I would like the 32bit key if possible, since you confirmed that it works on 64bit as well. I planned to purchase Win8 anyways in a few months, no other real reason to want the key. I'm no longer a student so no way for me to get it cheap anymore.

Alrighty then, based on this http://www.jack-brennan.com/windows-8-32bit-key-on-64bit-version/ the 32-Bit key should also work on 64-Bit installs, so I have two 64-Bit keys.

First key ( The 64-Bit labelled one ) is going to RoninChaos - Could you send me a PM mate when you see this.

Will be handing out the 32-Bit ( Which I assume the 64-Bitters still want, as it appears to work fine for 64-Bit ) after my shower.

Sounds good, look forward to the chance

Alright, next winner is Quick. Send me a PM or I'll send one later.

Sorry to everyone else who didn't win.

Also got some Windows Server 2012 Datacenter & Standard keys - However that's probably a bit more niche and would require a bit more extensive probing for interest :P I'll hold off. Dreamspark got so much crap I'll never use, might as well leech the keys.

I wouldn't mind upping my knowledge of Server from 2008 for future employment options, but if that's not enough, it's all good.

Seems reasonable, you can have the Server Standard key ( x64 ). However the server seems busy and says the key is unavailable right now, so they'd email me when the key is ready. So if you can shoot me a PM I won't open it, then I'll remember it when it arrives. Not sure how long it takes.

Thanks for the millionth time, Sethos. Much appreciated!

You're welcome sir

I have 2 1 year unused membership codes for some ECA website. PM if interested and I will send code w/ usage info
*edit*
Both codes are gone:
1st code went to Firehead
2nd code went to Zapages

I also found 7 codes in my room for a free EA android game. PM if interested in a pair of codes to redeem for a free EA game for android devices only.
*edit*
1st set 2 codes sent to wakajawaka
2nd set 2 codes sent to Jables Swan
3rd set 2 codes sent to Sajjaja

Down to 1 code...you have to have 2 to even redeem for anything though :/
If anyone has a spare code you can have this one, otherwise it is trash

May I have the last code please?

And just to top it off for tonight as I'm heading to bed, Windows 7 Professional key ( 32-bit ) but it should also work with 64-Bit. PM me anyone who's interested and I'll send out the key tomorrow.

I can verify that a 32-bit key does work for a 64-bit install.

Alright, randomly picked one of the PMs for the Windows 7 key and Firehead got it, RoninChaos and Quick have claimed their Windows 8 keys.

gabbo, I'm still waiting for that Server key to pop up - Gives me some message about the server being busy and they'd contact me via mail when it's available. Looks more like they haven't got the Server 2012 licenses ready yet so I'm sorry about that. I'll send a key the second it pops up in my inbox / on my account, whether it be the Standard or Datacenter edition.
