GAFs biggest angry/rage moments

Fighting that huge turtle boss in Ninja Gaiden 2.

How does one just assume that you can "block" his mega explosion once you kill him?! Broke the bottom left corner of my controller clean off.

Only time I've ever thrown a controller in rage over a game.
 
Let me see, a huge rage moment for me came a couple of days ago when I was trying out the game Capsized and just absolutely hated the floaty physics of the game.
 
Evertime I've played a FIFA game ever.

It cheats. Plain and simple. I've destroyed many a controller. Too many to pick one single moment of rage.
 
I don't rage at video games. At worst I get frustrated, then take a short break.

My brother, however, had some pretty bad rage issues with games. Especially when playing sports games. Shattered his PS2 once.
 
Street Fighter II, I smashed an SNES controller against the floor after failing to beat M. Bison like 20 times in a row on the highest difficulty. He was such a cheap ass.
 
Battletoads. You can hit each other in co-op so my friend intentionally started getting me killed in the second stage and started laughing every time. I had enough, put the controller down, and started choking him while showing him my 9 year old murder face.

We're no longer friends.
 
I was playing NFS underground with my friend and I was beating him in every race but somehow he won one and I was so pissed off I wanted to break the cd. So he took the cd and start running and he went outside of my house ( i was only in my underwear so he thought i would not chase him, but he was so wrong) So I was chasing him on the street in my underwear, got him and broke the cd.
 
I remember losing at Rage Racer split screen against my "heavy" pal. I lost it, and started pathetically trying to lay into him. He just glanced at my other pal with a bewildered look. "What are you doing?"

I didn't have an answer.

Some of the Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit time trials. Even when you know how to move across the map, you can't fully account for travelling cars. It always pisses me off when I drift around a bend only to crash to an oncoming vehicle.
 
Playing the PC version of Sonic CD back in the day when I was 13-14. My PC was a shitty, slow one, a 486 DX2 66MHz, so the game ran slow as fuck. But somehow I'd managed to get all the Time Stones besides the very last one. I was frantically trying to complete the final special stage, and was down to one flying drone left to kill. I had it in clear sight, jumped.. and landed in the water instead due to the slow as fuck framerate, which drained all my precious remaining time. First and last time I've completely smashed my keyboard over a game.

Anyway, my answer would be my brother on that shitty Freerunning game for the PS2. He got so angry he spat all over me, cos the game was fucking broken :lol

TMNT - NES - The whole game. That was some damn sadistic stuff to push on an eight year old.

Icewind Dale II - First week - No patch. F'ing final boss(es.) No decent gear, one boss uses (bugged) 100% perma-invis, constant backstabs. I actually punched the monitor while yelling at it. Then I realized how silly I must've looked and sat back down.

It's always a little awkward playing competitive games against guys who take it way too seriously. And especially so, when I've never played the game myself and end up beating the guy who obviously put a lot of effort and practice into it.

I've noticed there's usually an awkward pause afterwards, and depending on the temperament of the other guy, we either start up another game in brooding silence or the guy loses his shit in an expletive-laced tirade.

Playing 99 lives smash on the gamecube in juniorhighish age? against three other friends. DK friend starts suiciding while grabbing me when everyone has 10ish lives and I have 20ish. Got so mad I wanted to hit him but I stopped myself. Basically placed my hand on the top of his head and then punched my hand. Has been a running joke for anger for almost a decade since because it looks so fucking dumb.
 
I can't play smash bros with my boyfriend anymore. I used to always win playing against our friends so he just started gunning for me the entire match, every match. He never cared if he lost, as long as I never came in first. Pissed me off so freaking much, now I can't play with him even if he doesn't just attack me, since I think he's doing it anyway.

When the next smash comes out, just wait, I'll become unstoppable again.

One of the other guys who used to play with us in college threw my controller into a wall once (we always used my setup in the lounge). Still worked, though.

Edit: oh, and anyone play Gitaroo Man master mode on PS2? Fuck the sanbone trio. Must have taken me 100 tries to beat those jerks.
 
Rubber banding in racing games.

Completely out race opponents only to have them finish first because you make some small mistake near the end.

Such fucking bullshit

I've raged quite a few times. My top 3:

1) Got pissed during some boss in God of War: Chains of Olympus and punched my PSP square in the middle of the screening, breaking it. Not really sure why this happened as it was a pretty easy game.

2) Was playing Parasite Eve 2 on my brand new PS3. The final boss filled be with rage so I threw the controller strait up. It hit the ceiling and as it came back down I pushed it out of mid air and it flew and hit the wall. One of the trigger buttons broke off the sixaxis.

3) Got pissed while playing Tekken 3 on the PS1. I popped open the lid, grabbed the disc out and threw like a frisbee at a brick wall in my basement. It shattered into many pieces.
 
Put MVP 2003 in garbage as a symbolic gesture after losing to my friend in extra innings. Come home from school the next day to find out my mom had taken out the garbage that morning.

Haha, I don't know about that guy, but Weekend Confirmed has been able to get me more angry than any other podcast. I just feel like the show doesn't have a good enough foil for Garnett, so if he has some batshit crazy opinion there isn't someone who is able to properly spar with him on it the majority of the time. Some one like, say, Shane Bettenhausen, or Mark MacDonald. :(
 
I rage weirdly. I'll swear a bit then more and more. Then I'll go quiet as I get more and more annoyed till I snap, I just chuck the controller down and turn off the console hurriedly and without shouting say 'fuck that!'

The several times I tried to clear Carrington Institute mission in Perfect Dark. Fuck you in the ass, skedar blondes.

Also, FF3 DS was fucking cheap most of the time as well. I didn't smash the hell out of that DS because it was borrowed, but I was goddamned close.
 
I was playing burnout takedown trying to get a gold in the time trail for one of the last events and i was about to beat it and a random car pops up and I crash.

At that moment i was close to smashing my PS2 and destroying burnout.

fighting this bastard, died at least for times against him broke 2 of 3 controllers and mistakenly kicked the cat.....my friend comes over and fights him once and beats him........i then remembered i began smoking shortly after this......
 
Playing Demons/Dark Souls. I threw my controller to the ground many times.

Also, playing monster hunter on PSP. I had to throw my psp on the bed, not on the floor.
 
SF4. Online. Drunk. Wall damage from controller. Girlfriend PISSED OFF in the morning. Never played it online again cuz I damn sure wasn't about to give up alcohol.

I stopped playing lol for 3 months because it was making me rage too much, more than any game ever. At one point i had minor grazes on my knuckles because I sat next to my wardrobe and kept punching the damn thing. Very surprised my mouse survived that too actually...
 
The day I bought Metal Gear Solid 2. Pop the disc in "Yeahhhhh", a little bit later "Who the fuck is Raiden?" and then "WHERE DID SNAKE GO?! KOJIMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!"

Trying to take down the Capra Demon in Dark Souls is also up there. On the 360 the framerate went to hell right after entering his arena, so it was like throwing myself up against a slow motion meat grinder. I was so pissed off.

Decided to have a video game free month today after trying (and failing) to beat the first 2 on 1 fight in mortal kombat (baraka and that white dude). On beginner. Packed up the 360 and wii and put them in the closet.
 
N+, master control or whatever the fuck that level was called. Never replayed the game.

The last few levels of World at War on Veteran elevate to an artform the FUCKING INFINITE RESPAWN BULLSHIT WITH GRENADE SPAMMING AIMBOTS. Seriously. First (and last) time I ever thought to myself "I'll check the credits at the end just to wish an anal cancer to all these guys".
