I'd agree with you... but it's not just this one issue. The guy--well, I don't want to get too mean, but see his posts in pretty much any other thread he's posted in and judge for yourself.

Well people keep equating everything I post with "ism". I complained about Santorum manipulating people and it was "smartism". I made a thread dispelling a stereotype (it was equated with my other threads) and it got ruined with "toothism" mocking posts and basically I can not complain about anything that is unfair or wrong without people mocking said posts with "ism" suffix attachment.

All because I made threads about lookism and heightism (which were largely ridiculed) but I did not event the terms... I equated them to racism in my earlier posts but apologized before I started said threads and admitted I was wrong. Basically I have to change my username to escape this ****ing label that people put on me but the administrator I contacted said I could not have a new one.

I want GAF to be strict in a fair way. I do not think GAF is too strict or not too strict just that it is not fair in how strict it is. I think we should remove the superficial aspects to posting here.

You can't. You cannot do this. There will always be another thing that posters will latch onto for first impressions. It's not going to happen. People will look down on me for my avatar. I DON'T CARE, I do not want avatars banned.

I think some posters on here have some stupid names. I'm sure others think the same as well. Admins will never remove user names.

Your demands are absolutely unreasonable. We are not machines. We are imperfect humans. Delete too much personalization and you begin to lose aspects of this site I and many others enjoy. I don't post on 4chan for a reason (besides the cp and other nasty stuff).

Fair as in eliminating superficial aspects to how a poster is judged. This is a forum, we should not be subjected to the same prejudices that plague society but discuss and repel said prejudices.

I am not demanding the thread be closed, but atleast put up a poll and let everyone decide.

Also maybe you could put up one regarding the registration wait?

Yeah but you and I and everyone else including the mods know that won't happen because you're either going to get super-serious-GAF, all fun and games GAF, or something in between where there's that hint of inequality along with the personas. There's alternative places to go for the no rules + no hard feelings mentality, and nobody wants the super-serious-GAF anyway.

I don't think the way GAF exists is ideal, it most certainly cannot be ideal, and so I don't treat it as an exclusive.

I've been on forums for a long time, and one thing I've learned, especially after watching many people evade bans, is that your posting habits are a stronger identifier than your username. We can change your username, but as you'll soon find out, the connection will be made extremely fast and nothing will change. Not because of a label, but because of what you say.

Yes, he's a troll. But the reason a lot of GAFers find his trolling more "disturbing" than trolling done by others is because he is, as has been suggested in this thread, a parody of liberals, and a lot of his parody or satire hits too close to home for liberal GAF, and really starts to make them question themselves and their beliefs. Obviously this causes liberal GAF a lot of subconscious discomfort, and that's why everyone is harder on Voyager than they are on other people who troll. (Just kidding.)

There is no denying that certain posters have been 'propped up' before, from a female poster to a handsome guy to just a mod. But that doesn't last more than a page or so if and when it ever happens. There isn't a 'constant' to that thread. I'd be in the same boat as him if it just devolved into a glorification thread focused on a single member posting pics, but it really isn't like that nor has it ever been.

No I am not, what have I done exactly so far that is "trolling". I have not made fun of anyone, or made hateful remarks. Most of NeoGaf is not even liberal, maybe Democrat.
