Super Monsters Ate My Condo has the limelight today (and good to see people liking it), but PikPok also released Flick Kick Goalkeeper. A lot harder than Flick Kick Football and not as fleshed out, but free to see if there is something there for us to build on.

Can you save the match for your team? Show your skills and keep the opposition out! Dominate strikers with power-ups and bring in defenders to reduce their options.

Tried it. It is pretty hard. Kinda annoyed by the banner ads during the game that's positioned on the bottom though. But free is free

So two fellow ex-coworkers of mines are about to launch their second iOS/Android game Polara (not sure if anyone still remember Kunundrum around here):

I'm sure there's going to be the obvious comparison drawn with parallels like Outland (which is somewhat unfortunate as I've seen these guys come up with the base idea before Outland shown up), but I've had played and see the game in action relatively recently and it's a pretty interesting game for the platform.

dead trigger in no ways forces you to use IAPs and in fact gives you methods of getting shit for free.

its also one of the best fps on the ios.

Damn you level 4-10 of Rayman. Freaking Disco Inferno. Spent way too much time on this level. Finally beat it. Got every tooth. Was awesome. For those having trouble in that level, after the double fire shooters, punch before going into the ramp. You get a big jumpstart on the vine

So seriously hexagon won't work on my 4S... What do I do?

Will echo this about the ads, Obviously you need them but at the bottom they're very distracting and it's very easy to hit them accidentally in gameplay.

Other stuff, the power-ups might be in the wrong order. Super radar is clearly the best one and I found defenders to be a bit rubbish, or maybe that was bad luck.

Also, felt a bit weird when I lost a life because the ball hit the post. On the one hand I can see why, 'cause I didn't save it, but on the other hand I didn't let a goal in either. It's like a confusing middle ground where I can't quite decide what I want to happen. I think the best solution would maybe be no points, but no lives lost either. If a striker misses the target in a football match it'll often be down to the goalkeeper's positioning even if he doesn't touch the ball, and although we're not in control of that it's probably better to give the keeper the benefit of the doubt.

Like it a lot, though.

The Last Express is still a masterpiece.

Barring the iPhone 5 bug (patch submitted today), the port is fantastic.

I can't belive how well the game has aged on the retina iPad...at a res that almost didn't existed back in the day....outstandig work.

I advice everyone interested to DISABLE the on screen controls before even starting the game....it should be the default (you always get them anyway when touching the screen, having them on screen ruin the experience a bit imho).

Heading to Munich, amazed once again.

Last Express 1.2 gigs, heh I would have to delete a lot to fit that since you need much more space just to install, maybe once I finish Horn and Supernova add-on for GOF 2.

OMG I played The Last Express on iPad 3, and it's awesome.
I just tried on my iPhone and...it's gorgeous too and...PORTRAIT!!!
Genious! It's really well suited to this view, and graphics, being smaller, seems even more detailed.

Does it have any kind of cross platform saves?

I'm yet to buy the new Rayman title, but am I wrong in saying it's very similar to Mirror's Edge?

Very similar? No. Kinda, sorta similar? Sure. They're both auto-runners. But aside from Rayman running on his own, it's absolutely a platformer in every other way, and a darn great one at that. ME is more comparable to an unpolished Zombie Parkour Runner.

Bad Piggies (Angry Birds spin-off) is coming out tomorrow. Will it be released tonight after midnight? Haven't even seen gameplay yet.

Got it this morning. It's decent so far. A little less than what I was expecting, but I haven't played through but a handful of levels. It's kind of another Rube Goldberg-type deal (though you're tinkering with your vehicle, rather than the environment) with a few more interactive parts. Hope to see more customization options as I go.

I don't know how you arrived to this conclusion. The only common thing they share is that they're both 2D.
Platformer, runs by default except for when you want to change direction or jump/slide... I thought it was basically an endless runner with some extra control and an end... like ME.

It does. Interesting, cheers.

There's some interesting mechanics folded into the real-time play, such as types of attack (you can even set units to alpha-strike enemies), but I've not yet played enough to unlock the mech bay or pilots. Seems a touch on the simple side, but we'll see.

Desperately needs a skirmish mode, too.

it's here - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492623

Post your lists everyone!! Tell us your favourite games.

I'll bump it before the time runs out. It's just with that kind of thing, I don't want to be lazy and list games without explanation, but doing it properly requires me to not be lazy. I'm still pretty new to iOS gaming but I've already played enough good games to populate a top 10/20 list.

I feel the same way. I'll post there, its just finding a time when I'm not being lazy :P

Picked up Last Express, from the very first minute it has a very special atmosphere to it. However, I still have to get used to the static background transitions -- I'm more often than not losing my orientation. Would have been kinda nice to have a compass on screen or a small map of the car you're currently in.

You have a map of the whole train in your inventory, the bottom right blueprint.
There wasn't in the original game...back in the days you had to go checking every compartement to find someone...now they added blinking pins along the train map.

I bet that after 1-2 hours, you will know every vagon at first glance, belive me :D

holy shit, airserver is pretty badass. airplay onto your computer.

Latency isn't even that bad!

Way better than shitty remote play with my psp at the very least.

What are the hot airplay games? Modern combat 3 and real racing 2 are the only notable ones i recall hearing on ios sites.

I'm an absolute Minecraft noob but having just picked up an iPad it seems like an ideal place to start. Questions is how does it compare to its PC counterpart? Can you let people visit your worlds for example? Would I be missing a great deal of content?

This might not be the best place for this, but I'm about 10 invites short of the last card in the Guardian Cross invite campaign. If anyone would be so kind as to try the game out (it's free) and use my code even if you don't plan on playing, I would greatly appreciate it.

Invite code: OR79712

It does. Interesting, cheers.

Hmmm...after a little more playing, I'd say steer clear for a while. I didn't have the sound on prior, but it's paltry as hell. No mech sounds bar weapons, sparse yet annoying chatter...

And so far, it's crashed twice at the end of levels, thus requiring me to do them again. Wouldn't be a problem if the combat wasn't simplistic to the point of boring, as well as the map design a bit amateur.

Hmm, feel a bit ripped off, really. This should have been a TBS like MWT. Boo.

Great place to start is on PC. And yes you will miss an awful lot of content...

Those are fair points, though you don't change Rayman's direction either. If he needs to go in the other direction, he does it himself. Nonetheless, it's definitely a platformer. It might not be evident from screenshots or snippets of video, but directional control is very intelligent, and the rest is reliant upon the same type of platforming skill as a Sonic game. Truly, that's what it's most comparable to in my opinion. Not Rayman or Mario, but Sonic, albeit with the speed of Rayman.

I really like Bad Piggies.

It's growing on me quickly. I wasn't all that impressed with it after the first five or so levels, but now that I've invested more time, it's kind of addictive, and I don't normally care for physics games. The unlockable stuff and how it plays into the sandbox levels are the hook for me, really, though the regular level design is very entertaining.
