I'll watch avengers again and enjoy it for the two of you who are too hipsters to know when the mainstream is right.
Yeah, they should have kept Shaw as the hairy, muscled sexgod that he is![]()
Just bought and read all the Red Robin up on offer on the DC site.
Great to get back into an old favorite (Tim Drake), and though it wasn't a home run, I really liked parts of it. Wasn't a huge fan of the Red Robin costume either, but Marcus To can draw Drake ANYTIME, ANY WAY.

Might have to buy all his appearances in Teen Titans now...
Anyone else read it?
Yeah, I really liked it as well. Adventure Comics #3 (2009) has a great story with Superboy and Red Robin if you are interested.

Haw!
Thinking on it now, I think what the Marvel movie universe lacks are credible villains. Loki's inconsistent power set and general non-threat status meant little to nothing to me as a viewer. Blowing hard on the Cosmic Cube angle didn't help all that much. Not foreshadowing the threat level of the invading alien force didn't help any either, and I could see why some viewers felt the ending was a bit random.
So basically at no point during watching the Avengers did I feel the Earth was in grave danger. Even Green Lantern managed to sell the threat of Parallax to Earth better than the Avengers did with Loki and the Cosmic Cube. :\
Thanos? Still not sold on that ponce of a Darkseid ripoff. Mehvel zombies tell me he's like Darkseid, yeah if Darkseid had nuts for a chin and a penchant for dressing in gold lamé. :|
The Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon did the whole thing with 616, Ultimate, Skull, Hydra, Asgard stuff much, much better and it didn't have a shitty dudebro Hawkeye.
My buddy's pal kept lamenting the lack of War Machine, and honestly they need to build up Rhodey more in the Iron Man flicks before I begin to give a shit. He's a completely one dimensional character in the movies due to poor writing and bad pacing. If we spent more time on Rhodes learning to use the armor and being a stand-in for drunkard Tony instead of setting up The Avengers in Iron Man 2 - it would have been a much better flick and made me want more War Machine.
Michael Jai White as Luke Cage and Peter Mensah as Black Panther would be awesome, but only if they could make Avengers 2 fun to watch. No more wasting Captain America's potential for pulling levers guys. :|
Now that you point it out, I agree.
They should have kept the old origin, in which Cap didn't have any damn choice.
If you think that is a good action movie you need to watch more films.
Should I keep following The Justice League after I came out dissapointed by the #0?

Comic shops are that rare down there D:Very interested! But damn, the ease of buying digital online is a little too enabling. I went from buying the first one to see if it was any good, to clicking "Buy It" 27 more times last night. (-_-); I'd much prefer to have them in physical form, but the closest comic shop is prohibitively far, and god help my spending allowance if I actually did make it to Golden Apple.
That said, I might have to buy it... I'm weak (especially to their friendship)!

Also a good Batman movie would be nice. Maybe something where Batman is actually, ya know, a fucking detective.

How unfortunate![]()
I don't wear glasses because I'm nerdcore. I wear them because I have bad eyes.
I don't wear tight shirts because I like dressing like an indie rocker, my shirts are a bit tight because I like eating.
I don't trace Bryan Lee O'Malley and Paul Pope when I draw.
I do not enjoy Punisher Warzone and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance ironically.
I'm mildly beardy because I'm too lazy to shave, not as a facial fashion statement.
SIR! I resent these spurious claims.
The new Teen Titans stuff is super weak IMO and it's certainly not the same Tim character that was in Red Robin. RR was a really classy old school super hero book and yeah, Marcus To was so good, I would worry every issue that it would be his last. All his characters are so attractive - it's not something I usually like, but it's just so pleasing to look at. He did great hair and eyes. Very cute girls. Hell, cute boys too. If you like the tone of this book you might well like the original Robin series (the ongoing). Starts off with Tom Grummett on art which was ok but soon Mike Weiringo came on and it was a really great run for a little while. If you like Tim Drake and breezy teen super heroics, you might well love this.
It kind of falls of a cliff in the #30s when Ringo left - he was replaced by an artist that drew Tim like creepy white Michael Jackson and the book lost a lot of its charm for a while.

yep!
Marcus To was awesome on it. I loved this and Batgirl that was going at the same time...and hell I think most of the batbooks were godlike for me for those 2 and a half? years
rare where?
I love new Stark, beats Civil War Stark *shudder*
I watched Captain America again on netflix streaming and the ending still bothers me.Couldn't he have taken it to the open waters and waited for it to run out of gas then jump? Or taken it somewhere where shield could shoot it out of the sky over the sea? Or i dunno, a bunch of things that weren't incredibly quick decisions to kill yourself? It's like Cap WANTED to die for America so badly that he didn't bother thinking of any other solutions, but tanking the plane was the ONLY thing worth doing
im sure he could've tried an exit if it werent so big a plane...i dunno never crashed a giant bomber on purpose have you?
Shield wasnt around during WW2 btw.
I agree with takeout it should've been like the original but i guess they wanted him to talk to carter ...meh her never knowing what happened is better imo.
The South Bay area. All the good ones I used to go to are up north in LA proper.![]()
South Bay is the San Jose area to meI've never heard anyone use the term southbay when referring to LA.

I was listening to this last night and the only thing I remember is how annoying the host is with his useless interjections:
"Yep!"
"Right!"
"uh-huh"
"Of course!"
"Agreed!"
Just stfu. It's like listening to the play-by-play on an N64 era sports game. I'm guessing there was a delay and he was speaking when he heard a pause but the recording has him talking all over Brubaker on what's already a low quality recording on his end.
Will finish it later, I want to find out what the heck Myspace Comics was.
I'll read Inferno now, just to make you happy. ;****
Love ya, bandit. Don't let the darkness take over.
I really enjoyed Avengers. It was a good comic book movie, but it wasn't a good action movie.

Justice League 0 was the Shazam origin story right?
Did you read any of the other Justice League books, because Shazam was at the end of a bunch of Justice League books, and the books themselves were really good.
I loved Justice League 0 because I was infatuated with Shazam....and now im even more infatuated with the Trinity of Sin and their ties to the Wizards or whoever those dudes with lighting bolts are.
Man the new 52 is entertaining me alot more than i thought it would.
aww you do have a flaw...
Red Robin does got a weird costume I can't help but think Dr. Mid-Nite. Wish Drake would have kept a domino mask.
So now that the Alpha stuff is over, good time to jump into ASM? Anything I'd really have to know beforehand?
It's speculation that it's going to relaunch after 700. So if you want a real jumping on point, that will start in January. But this next issue is a new arc if you just want a spidey story.

And, I had no idea you read comics, too. +100pts!

So not a guaranteed relaunch? How reliable are the rumors?
I'll jump in anyway, love Spidey.

All the time.
Comics GAF, do y'all remember the New Muties/ Legacy crossover Age of X by Mike Carey? That was my shit. I ordered the hardcover recently and I'm loving it. Clay Mann's redesigns = sex. Dazzler has never looked better, and tbh, probably never will. If you have not read this, do it now.
