If you're asking who has been banned the most number of times and yet still lives to post on GAF, Speculawyer has 18 bans (including a perm warning) and PhoenixDark has 19 (including an actual perm which was rescinded). Speculawyer has been banned by 10 separate moderators while Phoenixdark has been banned by 12.

GaimeGuy said that it was so easy to get guns that even criminals could easily get guns. Manos quickly said that criminals can't get guns. Several of us posted a ton of proof showing criminals buying guns, even videos of actual transactions. Manos then moved the goalposts, saying that criminals can't get guns legally. We all foolishly played along, posting more proof to the contrary. Manos then posted statistics that showed that most gun acquisitions by criminals are through illegal means. He then said "See?", not realizing that it said "most", and that his own stats said that criminals obtain guns legally in about 10% of cases. We told him about this 10% and, predictably, he moved the goalposts again so that his "original" statement had now been amended to say that criminals can't get guns legally, except for 10% of them. After we called him out on this, he called us all liars and question dodgers.
Lots more shenanigans went down in that thread. We are now experts on .50 caliber sniper rifles and how they can shoot down helicopters despite him vehemently denying that they can do no such thing. We even dug out an old Funky Papa post to show that Spain has strict gun control laws after Manos told us that Funky Papa once told him that Spain's gun laws were really loose. No matter how wrong he was, he simply refused to admit that he was wrong. The thread would have been far more frustrating than it was had it not been for the help and support of Amir0x, GaimeGuy, Messypandas, Hitokage, Jackpot, God...frey Jones, and a few others that I'm probably forgetting. You have no idea how much I appreciated your help. Thanks...

A few bits of information are fine, but we aren't taking requests. Generally speaking, to be someone near the top of the ban list, you have to be someone who 1) has been here for a long time, 2) has a temper or impertinent streak but 3) doesn't let that temper/streak flare too often. Getting banned too often too quickly leads to a permanent ban.
I think he's banned for two more months.

I agree. People are regularly banned for opinions when their stated opinions violate the TOS. Look at the massacre in the creepshot thread - people were banned for saying they didn't see anything wrong with it. That's an opinion and because it was in violation of GAF's TOS they got the hammer.
Casual, flippant indifference to people being murdered half a world away without so much as a trial is on another plane of repugnance. It should be treated the same way.

If you were arguing with Manos on one of his key issues, (guns, the wonderfulness of police brutality, US foreign policy, the welfare states of Europe, Occupy Wall Street) he was simply unable to have a good-faith discussion and acknowledge points that went counter to his position.

Sometimes I wonder how impertinent one must be to get a reputation among the mods and admins.
I was looking through the corpse-harvest of the 'creepshots' thread and saw a lot of people that I don't even recognize who got banned for seemingly innocuous remarks. I must have missed the explanation there, but I do admire Bish's ruthless efficiency.
I always try to stay civil, even when trolling for ire. I suppose that's key.
That's the reason I stopped arguing with him in gun threads. Never enough evidence that wasn't 'biased' or 'old' or something else for you to have an actual productive discussion. You could never get past the 'harms' stage of a debate and move on to issues of inherency or solvency.

I'll miss Manos. He always forced people to make sure that if their point of view opposed his, they had really done their homework. I miss him most for that. Second most because he loved the Punisher much like I do.

Manos was impossible to argue with because his goal wasn't to present an argument. His goal was to frustrate and annoy you until you either got yourself banned for blowing up at him or you finally stopped responding to his posts out of frustration and he "won". He even openly admitted to arguing in circles during his OWS threadshitting last year. Dude was a brazen troll and I'm surprised it took this long for him to get canned.
If there ever was a reason to hate OWS, it's for loosing him upon this forum.
Really? Shame, MST3K threads are kind of lonely without him.

Haha, Manos acted like a fool, but I do remember talking to him a few times in PMs, most often about where/how to get leaked nudes of celebrities whenever a thread rolled by. He was usually real chill. Sucks that he had to go the way he did, though.
