What, do you think that's low? Those guys have probably spent more time banned than posting.Only 19? I expected way more for some of the regulars.
Yeah, it was this thread: University Is Uneasy as Court Ruling Allows Guns on CampusDid Manos finally get banned in that thread were he kept saying over and over how others were lying and only he had the real facts?

Hmm interesting.
How many times has blame space been banned? He seems like he's out constantly.

Gaf bans people for victim blaming (which I 100% agree with), I don't think it should be a stretch to ban for cheering police brutality. I didn't know opposing evil opinions was considered circle jerk bullshit now.
"DON'T LIKE PRO-PEDOPHILE POSTS!? BOO HOO U MAD!?!?!?"
Yeah, it was this thread: University Is Uneasy as Court Ruling Allows Guns on Campus
GaimeGuy said that it was so easy to get guns that even criminals could easily get guns. Manos quickly said that criminals can't get guns. Several of us posted a ton of proof showing criminals buying guns, even videos of actual transactions. Manos then moved the goalposts, saying that criminals can't get guns legally. We all foolishly played along, posting more proof to the contrary. Manos then posted statistics that showed that most gun acquisitions by criminals are through illegal means. He then said "See?", not realizing that it said "most", and that his own stats said that criminals obtain guns legally in about 10% of cases. We told him about this 10% and, predictably, he moved the goalposts again so that his "original" statement had now been amended to say that criminals can't get guns legally, except for 10% of them. After we called him out on this, he called us all liars and question dodgers.
Lots more shenanigans went down in that thread. We are now experts on .50 caliber sniper rifles and how they can shoot down helicopters despite him vehemently denying that they can do no such thing. We even dug out an old Funky Papa post to show that Spain has strict gun control laws after Manos told us that Funky Papa once told him that Spain's gun laws were really loose. No matter how wrong he was, he simply refused to admit that he was wrong. The thread would have been far more frustrating than it was had it not been for the help and support of Amir0x, GaimeGuy, Messypandas, Hitokage, Jackpot, God...frey Jones, and a few others that I'm probably forgetting. You have no idea how much I appreciated your help. Thanks...

Sometimes I wonder how impertinent one must be to get a reputation among the mods and admins.A few bits of information are fine, but we aren't taking requests. Generally speaking, to be someone near the top of the ban list, you have to be someone who 1) has been here for a long time, 2) has a temper or impertinent streak but 3) doesn't let that temper/streak flare too often. Getting banned too often too quickly leads to a permanent ban.
That's the reason I stopped arguing with him in gun threads. Never enough evidence that wasn't 'biased' or 'old' or something else for you to have an actual productive discussion. You could never get past the 'harms' stage of a debate and move on to issues of inherency or solvency. If you were arguing with Manos on one of his key issues, (guns, the wonderfulness of police brutality, US foreign policy, the welfare states of Europe, Occupy Wall Street) he was simply unable to have a good-faith discussion and acknowledge points that went counter to his position.
What about Snes? He told me he didn't get a warm.
Yeah, I found that out the hard way.If you were arguing with Manos on one of his key issues, (guns, the wonderfulness of police brutality, US foreign policy, the welfare states of Europe, Occupy Wall Street) he was simply unable to have a good-faith discussion and acknowledge points that went counter to his position.

Free snes. But confine him to the NFL thread. Just isn't the same without us being able to point out how much the Bucs suck to him![]()
Yes, free snesfreak.
Infamous poster JayDubya was banned from the OT only, before he was permed. He's actually a good poster when it comes to gaming discussion.Would be cool to think about not banning people necesserily from the two sides of the forum. For exemple, you have a guy who is very dangerous in the gaming side but so cute in the off one, why just not ban him only on the dangerous side?
lol what?! Specu seems so laid back. I would not have expected this.

gun control!
... nothing? Yeah, I think Manos is gone for good

How many more bans do I have left, just interested
I have 9 or 10 bans with a rescinded perm. -_-
I'm a better poster now than I used to be, so bans aren't a frequent thing for me anymore. I'm a different person than I was whem I first joined GAF. It's been what, 5 years? People change.
One more, and you get a free entree with a purchase of equal or greater value.

PhoenixDark is like the Doctor. Every time he comes back, he's a little bit different but the same as well.
How long is a tempban normally?
Haha, Manos acted like a fool, but I do remember talking to him a few times in PMs, most often about where/how to get leaked nudes of celebrities whenever a thread rolled by. He was usually real chill. Sucks that he had to go the way he did, though.
dr eggman if you're reading my post
you're a terrible poster. stop posting on the internet. thanks.
