I love SA's ban system. The whole payment thing is a little weird, but I can't really knock it considering I did 7 years of IGNInsider pretty much only for the boards.

There's no set limit. Aside from those instantly permed because they're still juniors or say some incredibly stupid shit, some get permed after two or three offences because they're relatively severe and always for the same thing. Others survive well over a dozen temp bans because they're over a long period, generally not that severe and for different things. And of course everything in between.

Translation: Depends on the mood of the moderator.

There's so many subforums on the SA forums (think of it like a more concentrated reddit) that people can be instantly banned for saying something on one subforum, but on another subforum it'd be completely ignored.

So it's very inconsistent--especially as the admins/mods don't really like the community, they're a very bitter and angry bunch. They are, after all, the sister site to 4chan.

Somehow Shanadeus ended up in a small forum that I go to like a year and a half ago and all he did was spam it with Pony threads. It was a very failed attempted at "trolling" that forum.

If you're asking who has been banned the most number of times and yet still lives to post on GAF, Speculawyer has 18 bans (including a perm warning) and PhoenixDark has 19 (including an actual perm which was rescinded). Speculawyer has been banned by 10 separate moderators while Phoenixdark has been banned by 12.

What about total banned time?

I think with my 2 6 month long bans (for arguing about Diablo 3 art style... I believe (I also think those were bans from Lyre/Dragona... although I can't confirm it)) plus a host of smaller bans (typically 1 month long), I'd rank up there.

Not at all. But here, I will honestly listen and give your opinion a chance, since SA's been mentioned a few times in the past day or so. I haven't really read SA in years, but I was told it's changed. The reason I stopped reading was because an e-buddy of mine (who was black) pointed out that you really can toss around the word "nigger" without punishment, and he made me realize that yeah, it is kind of distasteful.

So I just checked and...to be honest, no, it seems like the same subforums of rape/nigger/piss jokes are still around. I just checked their "goldmine" archive, which I take to mean the best of the best, right?

But man, the amount of genuinely awful people (racists, mostly) is too large for my tastes.
