Had only a passing interest in the game, and honestly, I'm not sure I "get" it. But I bought it on this testimony alone.

I felt the same way initially, but soon it clicked for me. Even the art grew on me.

Now I'm eyeballing Organ Trail: Director's Cut. I'll probably wait for a price drop though.

Sonic Jump?

There is a game called Sonic Jump, and it will be released on mobile platforms soon. That's pretty much all the info Sega released about this new project today, along with this image, illustrating what it looks like when Sonic jumps.

Tossing this in here one last time.

I'm playing Guardian Cross pretty regularly with a few friends, and I'm trying to get the full set of invite bonus cards. I am currently 7 invites short of having the whole set, and need some help to finish it. Even if you have no interest in the game, if you download it, and make a team using my invite code, it will count. I'd really appreciate it if a few people could do that if they have the time. You get some bonus items in game if you complete the set too.

When you start the game it asks you for a team name, and that's where you input the code. My invite code is: OR79712

Please help out if you can.

If you try it and actually do wind up liking the game, send me a message in game (using my code will friend me automatically) and I can send you some strong cards to get you started.

Well, I'm really digging it. It's got a laid-back yet macabre vibe that is kind of addicting. Keep hitting the "end day" button to see what I can accomplish next.

Ended up buying Organ Trail... 2 hours just flew by.

It actually really reminds me of Rebuild. At least the general feeling, the atmosphere, the dark humor, that "just one more go" addictness... and zombies of course.

Can't decide which one I like it best. Both very much worth the price of admission.

The Zombie Oregon Trail I assume?

Oregon Trail... I remember hearing talk about it on Idle Thumbs or something. Given I grew up in Australia and never really experienced it, should I buy it on iOS or is there an optimal way to play it on PC (other than emulating the IIe)?

Hi guys. my first iphone game has finally been approved.

Took the second one :) The second-last one was already taken, but in true GAF fashion no-one has owned up to it.

I snagged the fourth code, I'm about to go to bed but I'll post some impressions tomorrow.

The others may already be gone, but for future reference usually when people post codes to something they hide them in an email tag or PM them to people who ask so lurkers don't grab them.

Gimme a minute, shit =p

It's a shame Pocket UFO never was picked up in an official manner. It's a perfect copy of the original (being that well, it is the original), with a new UI optimized for touch screen. So at least it feels like real deal.

To me, this new port looks like amateur hour all over (which is probably because it is), as if they wanted to make X-Com with a tile swap. It also screams rip-off as much as any other gameloft game does, more so because all the elements are kept nearly exactly the same. Maybe there are more differences underneath, but something like Xenonauts would be better representative of what I imagine a X-Com clone to look like.

If you missed the original, there's no reason why you can't play it, if you wanted to. This game will not replace it, only offer an imitation of it. Maybe that's enough, but it's not the original X-com that everyone loves and cherished.

there is no title called Pocket UFO in the app store. Does it have a different name?

Anyone pick up The Last Express? I love having it on my Touch, wonder how it will run on my wife's iPad. Nothing like that game, fuck it's so good.

Does anyone know what happened to the new Penny Arcade game?
I know it came out on PC and Mac but I'm holding off until it's out for iOS.

Happy Street update coming:

We are about to submit a new update 1.2.0 to Apple (hoping to submit it today) with the following changes:

✔ New Halloween content and quests
✔ Studio in the mountain is upgradeable
✔ New mining camp to get iron in the cave
✔ The amount of spawned resources is now proportional to the number of expansions in the forest, mountain or cave.
✔ Fortune Wheel and Dungeon Game now give 1 token at level 2 and 2 flooz at level 3
✔ Change of rules for the dungeon games. The dungeon game gives 1 flooz for 8 consecutive patterns matched, then 1 flooz for 9, 1 at 10 etc... And this is reseted every 24hrs.
✔ All quests with crafted items now require a confirmation from the player to complete.
✔ All buildings in construction could be accelerated via visits, which will save two hours on the construction time.
✔ Masks shop sell real masks
✔ Villagers carry some of the items they just bought from the shops
✔ Missing resources can be bought in flooz in the crafting menu

Yeah I got it. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day playing through it, it's a really unique and engrossing experience I thought. It's funny how 90s it feels but unlike a lot of the old fmv adventure games, the feel hasn't aged terribly. It's not much of a 'game' though, is it? Which isn't necessarily even a criticism, much of the enjoyment came from experiencing the story like a book almost. It would be interesting to see a more modern take on a game that is this narratively driven would feel like. Actually, I played Walking Dead just after finishing it, and that has a similar feel to it, so I guess there are people still moving the tradition on. I played it on iPad too, it played great. I don't know if I'd like to play something so casual on a phone, I feel I need to relax into it like with a book.

I just bought nova 3, preparing to shatter my preconceptions!

It's very much a point and click adventure, and one that is deeply engrossing. It is great because how much happens depends on your interactions with everyone. It's depth is incredible really. It's definitely from a time when the definition of a game seemed to mean something different. Glad to hear you enjoyed it though.

I suggest folks that haven't heard of it or played it check it out.

It's so weird to think that the iPhone 5 is out now, as I don't feel I ever made good use of the speed of my iPhone 4S. Like most people, I've mostly played simple 2D games.

Are there any games that make nice use of the graphics from the 4S and 5?

The only ones I know of are Real Racing (and some other racing games) and the Infinity Blade games.

Lili sure seems to be utilizing the power of those devices.
