It's awesome on iPad with headphones, I get sucked right in - only problem is it's a bit framey in places which I'm sure isn't an issue with the PC version.
I'm the same way, but with Xbox instead of PC. I was loving the series but once the school semester started I've been too busy to sit down and play episode 3, it'd be awesome to be able to catch up in small chunks throughout the day. The game is still pretty new but I'm holding out hope for a Halloween sale, even if it was just the first game for free I'd probably but the entire series.
How's performance though? It runs like shit on 360, I haven't seen many complaints but I imagine it's pretty rough on iPad.

Only played the first episode, and it ran well on my New iPad. The framerate dipped a few times, but it was nothing major.
I did however dislike the low-res textures (made more evident by retina resolution), but I guess that's the price you gotta pay to play it on a mobile device.
Punch Quest, by developers RocketCat Games (Mage Gauntlet, Hook series) and Fargoal creator Madgarden, was submitted to Apple and should be out on the 25th. It's a sidescrolling beat'em up for those who don't know. Looks like it'll be pretty good.
This looks more like a Runner where you beat stuff up than a beat 'em up that's for sure.
I found the pixel art MUCH MORE appealing in Mage Gauntlet too. :/
May I ask?
Is anybody playing The Simpsons f2p?
If someone wanna add me and trah my Springfield:

So I'm just totalling up the new GAF Best of iOS list and... that top ten is surprising.
I won't get a chance to post it for another 12 hours at least but it's interesting.
Analysis: GAF likes a lot of really shitty games. Lots of people cannot follow simple instructions. Number one is an old favourite. Number 2 is brand new and I don't think would be there had this survey been conducted in a month's time. Rayman missed the top ten.

Rebuild seems alright after having finished a game of it. It seems pretty simple, and I never really felt like I was making hard decisions, but it was fun in the way that any similar strategy game is fun. Slowly taking control of the map is satisfying, and equipping and appropriately training your people is fun. Wish there was a bit more depth to it but I'm glad I picked it up for a buck.
Your decisions carry a lot more weight in the game's two most difficult settings. Right now I'm just fixated on getting all of the achievements. Plus, it's really entertaining reading the various things that go on mid-survival. For instance, in my last game I decided to horde stash for my private getaway. One guy found out about it, so I had to send him off on a mission I knew he wouldn't come back from. Then another guy he told tried to blackmail me. The monologues are really good for these sequences.
I'm in the minority (obviously) but it saddens me that Cut the Rope, Plants vs Zombie and Angry Birds are still so popular. It may well be that they're old hat, but I find them so dull. Especially PvZ, that game is boreville.
Also sad that Bastion under performed and the Room got a paltry 2 votes despite it being one of the best puzzle games I've played on iOS.
I am just a gaming snob though, I am fully aware of this.

Rayman is a very classy autorun platformer, I think the Sonic comparisons are spot on. It's not a fectect game, it's a little too trial and error for my liking, but it's charm carries it a lot of the way and it is actually very fun.
But really, if you have a backlog you should play some of that. You don't NEED a new game do you?

For some of us like physical controller (Aka iCade, iCP, etc) on virtual d-pad.
It seem that iControlPad 2 kickstarter look like go to be funded soon. I though it won't make it because 150K might be little too high.
Hopefully it will made more devs mind to use the dual-sticks support.

I am interested in this not just for iOS, but PC / Mac as well. If the Dpad is better than the 360 one (not a hard task) it will be ideal for emulators and platformers. There surprisingly few small, bluetooth solutions for this.
Hey guys I just wanted to check the consensus on God of Blades. It seems like it gets right everything that infinite warrior fucked up.
I just picked it up and I love the overblown 70's fantasy art style. I feel like I'm playing some kinda new-age heavy metal album cover. It's an odd mix of auto-runner and beat 'em up that seems to have a decent bit of replayability, baring in mind that I've only put in maybe half an hour.
Man, I was really disappointed by Infinite Warrior and I was really looking forward to it, too. This kind of came out of nowhere and blew me away.

I like the idea of both the iCP and the iCP2, but fuck man... to play games on the go, ~$70 is far too much for my budget. That's literally 70 games I could buy with that money.
Actually, from their KS it's $70 to get an *original* iCP delivered. The second one is $90.

Yeah it is quite expensive. But with the jailbreak, it can be use with blutrol, so that you can use it every suitable apps. Also support more BT controller (wiimote, icade etc)

D-pad was okay, I think it is better than 360. Similar but didn't slide deep unlike 360. I have heard they have some improvement on second version on iCP. I'm sure it will use new version on iCP2.

I did a bit of totaling the other day (was in sick most of the weekend) and, yeah, I think the poll will do more to hurt the perception of iOS gaming around here than help it. A wasted opportunity.
Edit: Also, Super Hexagon has legs. I think it's a classic, here to stay.
There was a survey that I've been bumping for the past couple of weeks but it's now closed I'm afraid.

i hate it when achievements don't unlock in the game centre.
i presume its because I didn't have internet at the time or something, really annoying.
for example I have a few games where i have unlocked levels 1-3 missing the unlock achievement for 4 but have 5-7 again...
so clearly I have unlocked 4 at some point but the achievement doesn't show up in the game centre it does however show up in game.
any thing i can do to alleviate this or stop it from happening in the future?
-sucks.
So I might be super LTTP on this one, but Guardian Saga is absolutely awesome. It's exactly what I've been looking for on iOS lately: a simplistic but charming and fun RPG. If it ran in portrait mode, it'd be even better. For those unfamiliar, it's a simplistic Dragon Warrior-esque JRPG with simple first-person combat. Love it. Simple controls, simple gameplay, perfect for on the go.
What I'd really kill for is more portrait RPGs, though. Tower of Fortune gets the majority of my play time because I can play it on the subway.

Perhaps we need a rule. No games that were in the old "Best of iOS" thread can be included. We already have that list and can see it at any time. New lists should help people find the best games that have come out since then.
but that was the point! I don't want you to give a defintive list with sections and carefully balanced out between genres. Just tell me your favourite games. Who cares if they're all Japanese rhythm games, or all solitaire games? In fact, narrower focus would probably have resulted in a lot less scattershot voting that didn't really count for anything.

perhaps we should have a rule where people like different stuff and while you might not like the results, if its popular its popular.
Perhaps some of us are bored of things like cut the rope - we enjoyed them when they came out, but now they're old. But if you're coming in new to the platform you might still enjoy them.
