I can't imagine they will since Battle Tendency is longer than Phantom Blood. The part 1/2 split will probably be something like 10/16 , which is absolutely doable. Hell, 2 eps per volume might be perfect pacing-wise.

No, I don't think so. Pretty sure the CC2 game has better models. Lol. It's cool though, the OP has that retro PS1 FMV OP feeling, which matches with the 3D backgrounds in the show itself, since those look like PS1 game backgrounds too. :D
 
I think the character models look and animate closer to a real-time cutscene in a PS3 game like Valkyria Chronicles, to be honest.
 
Just got around to watching the first two episodes. So good.
Dio is still one of the cruelest antagonists ever, and that's why he's awesome.
I love the use of Roundabout for the ED. I wonder if future endings will use other rock songs.

I read a new episode aired today so I look forward to that one.

They need to use "Get Back" for Part 3's ED, especially as it'd make the final scene pretty awesome
since Joseph actually listens to it on his tape player

Maybe using the Main Characters' Stands namesake song as the ED for Part 4 and up would be cool, although 1) getting the license to those might be tough, especially Prince's "Gold" and Soft & Wet and 2) some of those songs I can't see working as an ED, especially Crazy Diamond since it's pretty long.

Stone Free and Tusk would be neat, though, and probably easier to get.

I read from the Jojo forum I frequent that Prince is serious with his property and not likely to do the above : / given how vocal he is in the matter.
 
The best thing about the op is that the lyrics are 100% completely relevant and not just random gibberish. Are other orginals op's made just for their anime as good about this?
 
Yeah, that's why I wonder if the intro song will change when they get to Battle Tendency. Sure, I guess it can somehow still fit Joseph and Caesar, but the beginning parts just don't feel right if it's not Jonathan and Dio :S

Which reminds me, does anyone know when/if there'll be a full version of the opening?

Full version releases November 21st.
 
This show is amazing Part 1 (PB) of the JoJo series has always been my favourite. I think stardust crusaders is overused so I don't really care too much about seeing that although I will still look forward to it. I'm personally really excited to see Steal Ball Run, Battle Tendency & Vento Aureo.

The plan is only to adapt up to Battle Tendency. Just hope it does well so we can get farther than that.
 
Well, I'm pretty sure that companies have no reason to invest in long running series unless they prove that they'll bring money. Sure, it's Jojo, it's huge, but they have to prove first that there's money in an anime Jojo.
 
I watched the second episode yesterday and loved it. I was sort of on the fence on the first episode, but the second really made it click. It's hilarious so far and I'm tempted to start reading the manga, though I know that'll make the wait even worse.

transformation, and the manliness of the whole fight in the episode.
I read the manga just so i can have a clear image on how accurate the anime is, and it is doing a fucking awesome job, people who haven't read the manga till now haven't lost anything REALLY important.

Yeah, Jojo is all about being totally over the top, and every moment being less and less predictiable. It's going to be a really crazy ride if they can do the manga justice. :D

What are you talking about? Jonathan eating chocolate was totally important. Also Danny's backstory. I have no complains on how they're handling things so far though.
 
Those first two episodes are amazing. With this and Psycho-pass I think I can keep myself occupied - but I'm very tempted to read the manga...what do you say GAF? Should I read or wait patiently for each episode?

Well, it's gonna take a loooooooooooooong while for the anime to be where the manga currently is. Like, literally 5+ years at least. Your choice.

You're better off watching the anime, methinks. The part that this show will cover never got an official translation and scans that are out there are pretty bad.
 
? Phantom Blood's and Battle Tendency's scans are pretty decent. It's Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable (beautiful Duwang scans), and Vento Aureo that have poor scans. Still SC is officially licensed anyways, DiU is getting a pretty good rescanning that's already up to Kira, and so is Vento Aureo (although that one is going pretty slowly since it's a one-man operation).
 
I have watched the old 26 ep jjba series.
Now watching this new one its official that Dio is my favorite villain.
Now with the villain so good in the beginning of the series, how the rest of the series hold up? I'm scared of starting the rest in fear that it's not going to be as good as Jonathan or jotaros story..
