Seeing these responses I thought "come on how bad can it be".
I honestly think that was the worst trailer and/or game-media I've seen all year. The trailers for the other packs were awesome, this was atrocious.

Terrible trailer, where is the awesome battlefield theme song.
The original bf3 trailer when it shows gameplay montages and jet sequences is still one of the best trailers going around IMO. Could listen to that main theme all day.

BF3 vanilla maps are best? AK maps too big? AK is the only good DLC?
Y'all are crazy. CQ and AK were both great, and Karkand added much needed maps to the 2-3 good ones that were available in vanilla.

Premium was well worth the price, no CoD game or any other shooter has had the level of extra content put out after release by a developer.
Armoured Kill is awesome, Close Quarters was interesting and Back to Karkand is solid.
With the new maps, weapons, unlocks and game modes BF3 is a massive game with tons of content ...... in fact the premium content is bigger than the original game.
On PC almost all servers are private, as in not hosted by EA ....... nothing is going to be shut down.
Looking forward to this.

It's more then just a map pack.
3 of those things are directly connected to the maps. The other stuff is so lackluster that they completely ignore it in the trailer (exept the crossbow which is just stupid).
Apart from Firestorm, I really enjoy all the original maps. I think perhaps the B2K maps were a little better, but I wouldn't argue with somebody who liked the vanilla maps best.

i just truly hope these maps can be put in the normal map rotation. It's annoying to play CQ or AK when i have to join a specific server for those

Its up to the admins of the servers. I dont think there's any official EA servers anymore. Which is a shame.

I thought you can, and that there are servers which play all maps. I could be wrong as its been too long since I played it, but look for expansion pack icons next to servers.

yeah, you can put all maps in the server rotation (at least on pc). However a lot of admins like to specialize in one thing (a particluar expansion or only inf maps ect.) for some reason.

I would think the fact that they shut down one would be enough to be afraid they might shut down others. I can still find a game in 1943 but BC2 is a ghost town.
that has nothing to do with EA though, if nobody is playing the game, nobody is playing it.
On the other hand you can still play C&C generals or BF 1942 online, those games are very old.
New maps, vehicles, game modes, weapons, rewards & achievements. What would it take to call it more then a map pack? This is the premiere trailer I'm sure there will be many more showing more stuff.

Yeah, that was a pretty bad trailer. DICE usually has baller trailers.
I also don't get the inclusion of the earthquake at the end...gets my hopes up for in-game earthquakes during MP matches.

I know it's blasphemous but I prefer infantry to big maps in BF3
I loved the big maps in BF2 because you could do all kinds of fun things (like get a jeep and just go get the far away points, try to steal the enemy jets), but in BF3 it's just not the same. Probably the map design.
Of course BF3 has some of the worst netcode of any FPS I've ever played, so infantry is only fun up to a point

Couldn't be further from the truth for me.
Loved B2K, CQ and AK. This does seem like the weakest of the bunch so far, but then again, I thought the same about CQ and ended up enjoying it quite a bit.
Granted I only payed 21€ for it

Having gotten if for £16 from India on day 1 of its release I can honestly say that Premium is the greatest value DLC ever (at that price). Would've still gotten it eventually, but £4 for each expansion pack 2 weeks "early", plus several other bonuses is great value to me.

Major difference between this and most all the other DLC trailers was that it was 100% cinematics, and only took place in like 10 sqft of space. Need more gameplay footage.

Playing with the system and getting it for cheap (and getting lucky) doesn't make it cheap. In that sense, PS+ and Origin are the best services in the world. $60 worth of PS+ gained me 4 years of service with thousands of dollars worth of games and 4 year long rentals. Also, Origin gave me dozens of games for free and let me keep it and honor it.

Can you have a max player server with small maps and all vehicles enabled? I just bought the game but don't find a lot of the big maps entertaining unless I am failing in jets or 'Copters lol. I like it when things are really chaotic and close quarters, not running for 5-10 minutes on a map without seeing an enemy and out of nowhere getting killed by a tank or jet.

On that note, I really hope the screen shaking isn't some "feature" of these maps that just happens every so often. Cause it sure looks like fun! Wouldn't put it past them though. Immersion and innovation and all that.

Same question, I dont have any friends to play with so BF3 is utterly boring unless I play in small maps, some server recommendations would be appreciated.
