The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

Thanks everyone! Man, it's just so crazy to get a QL from the GB guys. I still can't believe it!

Also that's pretty hilarious that the NeoGAF email showed up (it's all random with over 250+ spam emails).

Game looks really neat. Any reason it's not on Steam? Greenlight the shit out of it!

typo :p

it's = it is

The menus complaint for that specific game is kinda weird. He was playing the game (buying + upgrading shit) it's not like in other QLs where he just sits in the pause menu talking about how the game plays.

Looks kinda neat, and it's pretty cool that it comes from a dude here. Grats Chubigans... I want a beer now.

Oh god, I felt like I was about to have a panic attack anytime Ryan hit a rush hour. That shit is stressful in a restaurant, and it seemed to transfer "well" into the game, haha.

Watching the War of the Roses/Trials TNT from last week (Oct 11) and what the fuuuuuuck is Ryan high as shit during this or what??? He spends the entire time staring off in to space with his eyes rolled up into the back of his head, interjecting at really random times and nobody is really paying that much attention to him. I had a suspicion through the whole thing but at 40m 50s he actually like stutters/slurs a sentence so bad there is no way he is not on something... Anybody else notice this?

Maybe he was already starting to get sick at the time and was just tired or something.

He got really sick not soon after which is why Jeff hosted the bombcast this week. it was probably hitting him.

This was in my mind the entire time watching it once I started to suspect he wasn't doing well and I was pretty sure that was the case until he started slurring his speech. Maybe he was on some sick cold meds or something...

Isn't this what they have been doing for the most part in QLs? Usually they show the main part of the game being played to give us what we wanted. Then at the end they go and browse the menus and different options/modes provided by the game. This is an ideal approach because I'm immediately engaged with the QL. And when they decide to go through the menus later, I am actually already invested in the game & the QL, that I want to see what the game offers at that point.

I hope I'm making sense to you.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure most QL start whenever the guy recording says lets start.

Not much thought or w/e :P

I demand a football manager 2013 quicklook from Ryan, it's 99% menus! Also their lack of football knowledge and the complicated nature of the game would make it quick look of the year. :p

While that does seem to be right up Ryan's alley, the only duo who could do FM justice would be Vinny/Jeff.

Hardcore Soccer management simulation - Come on Jeff, you know you need this.

Shit chubiagns, that's your game? I was watching the QL today and thinking "this shit looks awesome."

You have my vote.

Was watching Doom 3 BFG QL.

Caught a comment from Brad about this being an 8 year old game and how it runs at a smooth 60fps on the 360.

Then it hit me: Doom 3 was released in August 2004. The 360 was released in November 2005. They're not that far apart in age.

Damn, has it been that long?

*cries*

If we get Greenlit, I promise to patch out these typos. Woo! :p

Thanks everyone for the support!

ah so your the gaffer!

Game looks great! Is there enough variety for each tier? I notice that you have to do 20 days for just 1 star (i assume more for later star upgrades), and no1 wants to flip patties for a long time :P

Yeah, I think there is! By the end of the zero star restaurant, you can put six items on your menu. Then in the first star, you can participate in catering challenges. The second star brings a dating service and a "ClicknStart" funding program. The third star is the Iron Cook TV show challenges and the fourth...well, there's more. :)

It's always 20 days per star though, plus each checklist gives you more to do so that you're not spinning your wheels like you are in the zero star (which is really just to get your restaurant up and running).

Plus each star gives you an extra prep station. So Ryan had four prep stations, but you can have up to eight total. It can get pretty nuts. Too nuts for this guy apparently, hah.

you also need to switch out most of your meals every other day so you are always making something new.

i picked up the game last night after the ql and pretty much love it.

i do wish buttter was always B across all items. not Y on potatoes and B on pretzels, etc.

Once again Ryan is too busy getting high off menus to realise catching the Snitch in Quidditch actually gives you 160 points. If the other team is more than 160 points in the lead from all the other things going on, you won't win, the game just ends whenever the Snitch is caught. Jesus Christ, Ryan.
