Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn - Part 4 [Available To Watch]

enjoying it so far but i cant take orenski seriously at all. everytime she talks i end up having a giggle fit. the ep3 preview looked awesome and shit is really about to take off

the machine thing they get out of before the exercises, theyre supposed to simulate the ODST drop thing right? i thought it was maybe some virtual reality stuff at first.

also, is this taking place before the covenant war? do spartans exist yet?

1. It's to experience cryosleep.
2. Wait & see.
3. Wait & see.

I initially thought cryosleep the previous poster had a point they might be ODST drop simulators. They seem to puke their guts out when getting out. Never seen cryosleep shown to do that, especially since they're only in there for maybe 24 hours at most.

Its Cryo... when he was seeing the doc in the first episode the guy mentions how 'Cryo training can take its toll'. I think they are simulating emergency situations where you have to literally wake up from cryo and go into combat right away.

Watched the first episode. I've got the super special edition on preorder but I hate digital DL movies so I'm experiencing it on the youtubes.

Big Halo nut and I'm enjoying it. The characters aren't really pulling me in so far but it's only been one episode. The backdrops are great and it reminds me that Halo could really replace that hole that Starship troopers has left, one of a united world armed forces taking out a alien threat in a sci-fi setting.

Wish this was a bigger budget tv series or something. Hell, the Walking Dead is so popular because there's really nothing like it on TV. I think Halo could follow suit. Onward to episode 2 tomorrow.

You're injected with nutrients, and then you are literally frozen. You don't think there'd be some adverse effects after you thawed?

I enjoyed it but, did anyone think that the let's
take off our helmets to fool the enemys radar part was really stupid? for so many different reasons.

I've never been thawed out of cryogenics before.

HAHAHA. Good retort!

Well, consider this: your internal organs have to kept functional but at the same time preserved, otherwise there would probably be a whole mess of issues. I'm guessing that the substance they inject prior to cryo freeze works as both a nutrient as well as something that keeps blood cells from freezing, expanding and then damaging the surrounding tissue. This substance probably isn't natural, so upon returning to normal functioning, it has to be expunged somehow. Lasky probably doesn't respond well to the substance, which is why he throws up every time.

In Halo: The Fall of Reach, I seem to recall everyone, after being released from cryo, almost immediately threw up.

I don't know.. loads of Scifi books and movies have I've read/seen shows cryonics to make everyone feel revolting sick.

Dude, you're so missing out.

Yeah, doesn't the same happen in Prometheus? Early in the movie when all the people wake up, you can see them feeling all sick and whatnot.

The picture has been around for a few weeks apparently, but I just saw it and thought it was cool:

Its impressive in scale, but I don't think the anime style translated well to live action. Also, that visor just doesn't look right on film, it has a very plastic cat-helmet like look to it. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing it in action.. hopefully the final product can pull it off.

epic pic ^
Kelly was the fastest, Linda was best with a sniper rifle. Sam or Will were the tallest, standing around 8 feet tall.
K, thanks. I was about dig through my books page by page.

Reading Fall of Reach and especially First Strike, I am sort of ashamed to admit I shipped Linda and John more than Cortana and John. Specifically I can remember really dwelling on it when Linda was watching John's six as she picked a hanging upside down position while he moved on to his objective against the Covenant station.

I think I'm gonna go read that again anyway.

This has got progressively better each episode, 3 was sweet, especially when the ODSTs started dropping and the Covenant appeared. Great stuff, really looking forward to the next episode!

Loved the Elite and Energy Sword reflection in the Spartan's Visor!

I really hope they explain Mehaffey's concern for Lasky. Is it just a teacher worried about her student? It's almost motherly in a way. Possibly related in some way but it's being hidden? Can't all be just because of who his mother is can it?

Good episode as well. They keep this up I'm likely to buy the game with the hope there is Xbox Live Gold trial card.

I enjoyed the ep but was def hoping for a little bit more Elite action. These episodes always just leave me wanting more.
Halo deserves a big budget film. If any videogame franchise can pull it off it's Halo.

Wow just Wow. I guess technically this is Marketing and man the difference in MS and Sony promoting there key franchises is night and day. Fucking awesome I want the Movie sooooo bad.

This is really getting better and better. Looked good too!
The cadets falling down from the skylift (or how it's called)
, damn...

I shouldn't of watched episode 3 because it sent my HALO Movie cravings thru the roof. I honestly thought this series was going to be a cheap, cheesy disaster when it was announced and I definately didn't keep my opinion to myself and unfortunately butts were hurt. Now you can have your fun because I admit I was completely wrong, this shit is great.

Watched the first video and it was pretty terrible. It's like they had angsty teenagers playing all the parts; the whole thing had a significant lack of gravitas. Not really sure I want to subject myself to the rest of the series.

Holy shit, that's the fucking point. I swear the simplest shit is lost on some people. They are angst-filled, self-entitled teenagers in the UNSC Officer's Academy. The kids of Generals, diplomats, and admirals. The fucking point of them being all angsty in episode one is so they have something to grow into in Episode 6, and so you respect the man he becomes in Halo 4.

Christ.

It get's better trust me. Hell you can prob watch ep 3 which is great on it's own and just enjoy that.

That doesn't mean he has to like it...but yea, he should give it another chance. I'd much prefer adult characters myself, though.

My point was directly addressing his complaint about having "angsty teenagers" playing the rolls of, wait for it, angsty teenagers.

Right, I'm saying that he doesn't like the the fact that angsty teens are in his Halo. he doesn't like the whole concept around it. He's not (necessarily) saying that it's bad for what it is.
