Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn - Part 4 [Available To Watch]

The bodies at the end were legitimately disturbing. I was shocked. So well done.

Once those ODST pods started dropping everything was turned up to 11/10.

GODDAMN YESS everyone was clueless as to what was happening but the gravity of the situation set in once those guys drop from a skies, complete with a clap of thunder announcing their arrival. so freakin awesome

So well done. That thunderclap made the moment for me.

That was an awesome episode. This series is getting me mega hyped for Halo 4. The preview for next weeks episode looks phenomenal. Its been an incredibly well done series so far and I think the last two episodes are only going to get better.

This series is getting me anxious for the inevitable Halo movie. I've been happy with the quality of this series but I can only imagine what a big-budget Halo film would look like.

well that was fantastic. I think I'm coming around to the series approach over a big epic movie. Save the movie for a master chief story.

Yeah, totally. So good.

I feel like they should have used this brutality in the Campaign for Reach the story would be better, never really felt like you were in danger in Reach.

It is funny how often the opening of Reach is made fun of for treating the Covenant invasion like no big deal. "The covenant are on Reach...I repeat..." But then you get people in here the past couple weeks complaining about how in FUD nothing has happened, where is the action, etc.

I think this week's episode really highlights both how much more impact Reach's opening could have had and validates the pace at which the story has moved in FUD so far.

This has definitely been an enjoyable watch so far.

I am at the 11 minute mark right now, main dude talking to love interest chick and it is awesome.

This episode has been fantastic! Ready for hopefully a covenant filled climax to the episode.

Really great work here, but I still dont want them to make any Halo movies. Any big budget action movie would just get all fucked up by Hollywood. They want to make every action movie into half comedy/half action movie. A Halo movie would need to be almost Children of Men in it's stark documentary style. And there's about zero chance of that happening.

BTW how many total episodes will there be?

5 episodes total, 2 left.

and i cannot imagine that ms would let hollywood fuck up the halo franchise. they are very protective.

Well there is a difference between the covenenant on Reach and showing up for the first time (to the public, kinda).

One time aside the Covenant showing up means certain destruction of a planet. They should be shitting their pants.

That's true, but I meant it in some kind of "we are already in war with those aliens" kinda thing. I agree that Reach was disappointing in that regard.

I really hate when there is no reaction to a major event other than stoic silence. The damn tower just exploded and alien ships just appeared yet the cadets don't seem in the least frightened or scared. Almost no emotion. I would be running up the walls.

I loved the ODST's dropping though. The best part of this episode.

Where are the bodies everyone is talking about? Just rewatched the scene where
the covie ship shoots the elevator and it breaks apart, didn't see any bodies, just debris.
Am I missing them?

They take a while to fall from space, it's a later shot just before they start running again

That's not debris falling on them at the end. That's Soylent Green...I mean people.

It's at the end.
You can hear the screams and them hitting on the glass roof.
-.-

That was cool!

I properly wanted the next episode this time, I loved how they properly freaked out by the Spartans. It's cool to see them portrayed as the awesomely powerful tools of war that they are.

They should make a Halo game where you are just shooting humans and you can't die because you are so awesome.

Feet first into hell, motherfuckers!!!

pretty terrific stuff, but the intros get me more then anything else. cortana rampancy? so good. ancient evil awakens... gravemind through cortana via halo 2 corruption? one can dream. i love me some gravemind.

really looking forward to the "directors cut" dvd.

Oh man yeah she is rampant as fuck. Halo 4 gonna be cray.

i hope we dont get some miracle solution for it. i hope her rampancy "ramps up" in halo 5 and 6. echoes of marathon.

i also hope gravemind returns, flood too. stinkles please?

I absolutely loved how the kids reacted to the big thing (Spartan) on the classified video and then the ODSTs. We take them for granted because we get to play as and interact with them all the time, but scenes like these from the eyes of other people in the fiction really show how important and badass they are.

I see nothing wrong with the squad leader role in this. Usually in training the squad leader is picked from the other recruits.
