Bring it on!
I'll go first, US artists only - in no particular order:
- Arthur Adams
- Alan Davis
- Ivan Reis
- Doug Mahnke
- Patrick Gleason
Also limited to superhero comics.
Adams and Davis are GOAT status for me. Their body of work has earned them a free pass to my wallet in most cases.
Reis is some new hotness, not really anymore, but the rare new contemporary comic artist who really gets me excited to see what he does next.
Mahnke is just a solid all around dude who gets the job done, almost like John Romita Junior, but without the rushed art.
Gleason, the former protege of Mahnke went on to become an interesting hybrid of various influences and contributed to one of the best multi issue runs on Green Lantern Corps. Something else which is pretty rare these days when most artists tap out at 6-12 issues if you're lucky.
There are a ton of other artists I love working today, but I limited it to five, quick and dirty.
