Hi, My name is Dominic. Whats yours?

Well, as Dumbledore once said: "Of course this is happening inside NeoGAF, but why on Earth should that mean that it is not real?"

If you've been here for 2 years or more, I wouldn't say you're particularly new ^^
Though if you didn't post often I can see why you feel that way.

Is it wrong to say that your "maybe" scare me? I don't want to receive a spanking from every GAFfer while naked and singing a Spice Girls song!

Hm, true enough ha!

I always had a lingering fear of GAF was a pit of hungry sharks so I avoided to post as much as possible.
Later I learned, depending where you go, it's filled with cats and random things!

Heh, I'm sorry, it was just a joke!
...Spice Girls, haven't heard their songs in ages since I was a kid.
...Now I got one of their songs stuck in my head, what have you done? D:

Hi,

I am Martin, from France.
I am almost 25, in a few days.

I am studying graphic design in Paris, though right now I am doing my internship in Thailand, on an island. It's very cool but I do miss a big city.
I studied Japanese for 4 years before starting from scratch in graphic design.

I like a lot of things, mainly traveling, walking reading and watching movies but I don't really love anything except Japan, same apply for everything and everyone, I am a very cynical guy and have issues trusting people or getting enthusiastic about anything, my mother think I might have a very mild case of autism ><.
I used to love video games a lot but my interest is fading. I frequent OT 99% of the time.

I am single since a couple of weeks, still looking for THE woman of my life.

My future? I'd like to try to work in Japan and have a daughter (I've been thinking about that more and more).
I love Japan for I don't know what reason, I used to love for video games and mangas, but my interest in those is fading fast but my love for Japan is growing every day.
I just love the life over there now.

Here is a picture of me, because you deserve it :

My name is Giuliano.
- I'm from Canada, I am Filipino and Italian.
- I'm currently 20 years old working in retail, with hopes of becoming a journalist/broadcaster.
- I am a fan of the LA Lakers, LA Kings, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- My ultimate dream in life is to become a journalist/ broadcaster for one of the above teams I mentioned.

?! you aren't trying to steal the jaguars away from Jacksonville are you? We won't stand for that. And by we I mean Tamanon (Jags Fan), Myself (Lurking Jags Fan), and Alligatorjandro (Closet Jags Fan).

Hey GAF. My name is Jason.

I live out in the blistering heat of the Arizona desert. It's actually not a bad place to live outside of the ass-backwards politics. I don't do well with cold, so I'm pretty much stuck here anyways.

I work at Gamestop and a Respite Care company. When I'm not working, I'm going to school for a degree in Information Technology, which I'll be graduating with in December. Hope to jump in the field in January.

My main hobbies consist of gaming (surprise surprise haha), reading, and playing Magic: The Gathering.

This is me -

I tend to lurk more than I post lately, though I'm trying to change that.

My true passion is probably in the arts, so you will see me posting most in the Art-GAF threads with my artwork. My style looks like some kind of anime/manga/westernized hybrid, which I'm never quite sure how to feel about it, but I've tried to make my peace.

That is an awesome piece of work. I love to draw as well and usually in the same styles as you. I don't think my colors are nearly as well done as yours though. I would love to do something more with my art beyond the hobbyist level too.

Also holy crap you go to bed and this thread moves so fast in your sleep.

Hi, Rasmus here.

Living in southern Sweden and 21. I mostly lurk GAF but I do post some, promise! Came here about... 3 years ago? Probably the site I visit most after Reddit/local sites. Best gaming related forum in the universe and off-topic is almost always hilarious, and I use it for TV shows/music/movies tips. Got a sociology bachelor degree and currently studying IT/Networking, also moved out for the first time. Money taken care of for now.... (Thanks swedish system!) But school is pretty hard so far D:

I mostly play PC & PS3 some iOS stuff too. Big fan of movies and music/TV shows too ofc! (Everything from Regina Spektor to Blood Stain Child to Adventure Time to Breaking Bad to Up to Se7en!) :D In the middle of Mass Effect 3/JSR now, and I always play some TF2 or BFBC2 or LoL when I can.

Hey, I'm Jérôme from France, I'm 32. I'm a carpenter for a living. I'm engaged since 5 years now, maybe a baby in the work!

Of course I love video games but I'm also passionate about music, I'm a guitarist myself and a mediocre drummer.

Here's me at work :

and this summer with my second half :)

I'm Jordan. I'm from Brampton, Ontario. I'm male, 18 years old (turning 19 soon), currently enrolled in a College Art program. I like to draw.

Threads I frequent: eh, Wii U?

This thread is really sweet :) My name's John and I am 29 and a half from England. I'm married to a wonderful woman and have a house and a cat. I work in educational admin but really I like to be a creative person, so I write and play bass in a band. I often feel I'm not as productive as I should be, but then I look back on all the crazy stuff I've made over the years and I'm quite proud of myself and my friends. I think life is all about what you leave behind in the world rather than what you can take.

My name is Pether (its funny when people realize that there is an H in the middle, my father likes to mess conventional names on purpose), 24.

Born in Peru, moved to Florida at the age of 14. Moved sporadically around the States for different reasons (usually relationships). Currently living in Connecticut because of work.

Thought school was dumb (convinced the school's psychologist that homework was unnecessary), still got a scholarship. Went to college but was bored by it, that and I didn't know what to study (had interest in drawing, architecture, mechatronics, interior design, and others....)....decided to take one of their aptitude tests (asvab) to see if it could help, which ended up being worthless as it told me I could succeed in any field. So I dropped out.

Took random jobs (construction, real estate, interior design, retail, etc) but was once again bored so I decided to join the Navy. Ended up running the eye department at the hospital (really fun, really exhausting).

When I was young and going through my dad's planner, the very first page had a phrase written by him on it "El ignorante grita, el inteligente opina y el sabio calla" (the ignorant screams, the intelligent gives his/her opinion, the wise one stays quiet". Ever since I have tried to follow it, although in recent years I've been moving towards a more stoic school of thought. I like to think, observe, rationalize things. I'm a very critical individual, which is why many think of me as an asshole.

I'm Elliot, from DC (Arlington, VA actually--maybe a mile from DC). 28 years old. Got married earlier this year and hit a few cities in Europe for the honeymoon (not nearly on the scale of EviLore's trip). For work, I hold up the "computers" end of my father-in-law's company: media, marketing, software, design, website, IT, etc. But for some reason I have a bachelor's in economics.

I lived in Japan for a year and a half after university, and I've been here in DC since I got back 4 years ago (wow, has it already been 4 years?). I met my (American) wife in Japan as well.

I love doing pretty much anything creative as a hobby (except art), and I switch off between trying to write a book, write music, build websites, build computer programs/apps, and graphic design. I'm not formally trained/educated in any of the above, so it's extra fun (hard). No one thing can ever seem to hold my attention long enough so I just keep making the rounds, never really finishing anything. One of these days I'll hunker down and focus on something and maybe even try to make some money at it.

For a pic, that's my avatar. It was taken early this summer in Barcelona.

Also video games.

Hi GAF.

I'm Zoe. 25. I use code to make computers do things, in return computers use code to piss me off. Like saying a variable is null when there's no references to it in the first fucking place....

Started in northeast PA. Living in Buffalo by default, trying to move to Portland and start making something meaningful out of my life. No idea what that'll be yet, I just want to live a life rather than just exist. I was gonna say I want to be the most culturally significant person to ever come from my high school, but there's only two alumni with Wikipedia articles so that's not setting the bar very high I suppose.

I like music. I have a company to do music-y things with. I would have my own music-making project called Hop but I suck at making music. So I play drums instead. I kinda suck at playing drums.

I lurk a lot. Primarily because I have nothing to say that's worth saying and hasn't been said better by someone else already. Right now I'm mostly following PoliGAF. After the election, dunno. I also post the Rock Band DLC updates every week.

I'm a slacker. I have real problems getting motivated rather than depressed. It makes life harder than it needs to be.

I haven't worn my bunnyhat in forever. It's showing its age, should probably get a new one anyway.

Hi Dominic, nice to meet you. Thank you for starting this thread.

My name is Kirill and I will be 30 in a couple of weeks. I live in Seattle and work in digital forensics/e-discovery field. I have been married to my wife for about 3.5 years and we are expecting our first child in March. I am alternating between fear and excitement :)

I was born in Moscow originally, but have been living in the US since the early 90's. My first video game was Sonic 1 on the Genesis. I would say that my favorite "genre" is HARD games. I love games like XCOM, Dark Souls, Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma, DmC3 (pre-difficulty nerf), etc.

My other hobbies are Brazillian JuiJitsu (have been rolling for 4 years now), motorcycles (I ride a Triumph Bonneville SE), travel, and sampling various beers from other countries. Here is a picture of my wife and I at a coffee shop in Seattle.

PS. On NeoGaf, I am pretty random. I post in all sorts of threads in both Off-Topic and Gaming. Feel free to ask me anything or PM me anytime.

Great thread.
My name is Michael, 31 and live in sunny hell. Also know as Florida. I hate this place with a passion.
I run a pretty popular gaming blog and spend my days as a copy monkey and graphic artist at a small graphic design shop.
I also have wicked panic attacks that resulted after a car accident like 5 years ago. Fun times.

Sorry! It would better if I didn't talk about the Backstreet Boys too, right? :P

You know, before I started lurking here, due to things I've read on other places I always had this idea of GAF as a kind of police state, a very heavily moderated forum, where anything remotely funny was banned, and people only gathered to talk about gaming news, without any sense of community or friendship. That's why I was so surprised when I began reading some threads, and saw that it wasn't that way at all. Yes, it has stricter moderation than other forums, but that's actually for the better, or else it would be more difficult to have interesting and civilized discussions. A certain amount of trolling is also permitted, if it's appropriate, and there's lot of humor spread all around the forum. There's a lot of beautiful people here: wise, smart, funny, silly, bitter, happy, depressed, it doesn't matter. They are all fantastic. This is a great place, and seeing all the affection in Scorcho's thread makes me see that yes, GAF is indeed a kind of family.

Wow, I really should stop ranting and go back to work.

My name is Jim.

I'm a few months away from my 30th birthday.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and am currently more than 3/4 of the way through my Master's degree in the same field.

I work for a power utility company in Connecticut though I am originally from Upstate New York (Syracuse area).

I live with my girlfriend. I have always enjoyed video games (consoles and PC), baseball (hence the avatar), and movies.

...*Twitch* And Brittney Spears...Flash back to the 90s!

Yeah, I moved to here from IGN (oh the horrors) ages back and I think the strictness is nice and allows some sort of order.
My experience from IGN, there was little order and was subjected to many ruthless people that ruined it for everyone.
If there is no order it just becomes chaos.
The people are a mixed bag here, but I think for the good part mostly.

I'm glad to be apart of this family of sorts. It really has grown to be an awesome community.
Even from tragedy, we can always look forward.

Yes, get back to work! Good luck!

Hi, I am Randy. I turned 21 last month and I'm from The Netherlands. I was born in our nice capital city Amsterdam. The same place where I'm currently studying communication science. I came to Gaf because I like gaming as most of us here do. Besides games I'm a music lover and I like to watch quite a few series and movies if time lets me. The most of my time on Gaf I spend at the Football thread, my favourite sport.

My name's Rich. I'm in Oklahoma, and I work at GamrRank as well as in real estate. 2 jobs at once! I'm 32. I feel a lot older than I am. I blame games for making me feel like an old-ass dude in a young-ass world. I'm also a huge ogre. And I like my Ankylosaurus shirt.

Living in Cologne/Germany with my wife and cat.
I work as a Lobbyist and like to cook.

My name is Corky and no my parents didn't see Life Goes On so it's not a cruel joke. Born in some sandy country but lived in good ol' Sweden my entire life.

I'm 25, bored/depressed out of my brain. Soon to be an engineer and there's nothing I despise more than math and physics so I really picked the right kind of education.

All my friends left my city and went study someplace else. All my other friends are criminals and/or psychopaths.

I've wanted a dog my entire life but I think my dad faked that his hay-allergy stretches to dogs as well.

I've snowboarded three times in my life, and they went something like this :

1) hairline fracture in ulna

2) broken wrist

3) horribly sprained ankle

I can't fly like a normal human being without being probed like an extra terrestrial.

I want to do something with my life. Can I stay at YOUR place?

You can stay at my home, but you'll be brutally probed at the airport on your way here. At least I'm no psycho criminal, or am I? I'll even let you play with my dog.

Wow, you reminded me how bad the IGN forums were. I stayed mostly at the Nintendo boards, which were full of trolls, and both pro and anti-Ninty fanboys. Dark times indeed.

Totally unrelated, but I just realised I should change my avatar. The hat and glasses fad has ended, and it's time for a Halloween one. Maybe add a couple of ghosts or pumpkins?

What up gaf.

My name is Fiona and I'm 26.5 (exactly...yesterday). Study parasitology at Glasgow Uni. I might do a Masters in epidemiology when I finish. Or a PhD in my favourite parasite (which is TBD). Came for the gaming, stayed for the OT. More of a lurker than a poster though I chime in on dating-age and the okc thread. I enjoy gaf's love of redheads. Contemplating becoming a crazy cat lady but cats hate me so that might not work out.

This is my face

I'm pretty steamboats here.

Argentina ey? I'd love to. Too bad the ticket is 900 euros. Had there not been so much water I could've walked.

Hi, my name is Eric. I'm originally from New Hampshire but I'm going to school in DC (GWU). I'm 21 and currently in my senior year of majoring in political science. Last GAF thread I hung around in regularly was the Xenoblade OT, although I'm still subscribed to a bunch of things.

Cliff notes please? If you dont mind, Im curious how that happened.

sorry I'm late getting back to this thread, been busy today

Long story short I was 21, living in Missouri, she was 28, living in Illinois. We were both doing the online dating thing and weren't having much luck. On a lark I signed up for the "meet me" portion of hotornot.com. I sent her a message and we hit it off. I am originally from Chicago, and was looking for a chance back. Things were going well conversationally and such, and she had a spare bedroom, so she offered to let me move in and if it worked out between us, great, and if not, we would just be roommates for a bit until I could get on my feet back here in IL. So she actually drove for 5 hours to where I was living in MO and picked me up, and then we drove back to her place with my stuff in her car, and the rest is history. Been together for 7.5 years now. Our fifth wedding anniversary is in just a couple weeks :D

Hey GAF,

My name is Matthew Perkins. My friends call me Matthew J. or Ol' Pine Top after the late great Pine Top Perkins. I'm 29 and have been married for a little over 4 years. I live just outside of NYC in New Jersey in the USA. I love NY Giants football, traveling, and history. I'm also a huge gamer but I'm not a fan boy of any camp. I usually go out of my way to argue with fan boys regardless of allegiance (sorry guys). I used to be morbidly obese but now I'm under 190 pounds. I work for a BPO firm doing analytical work. Currently I am working towards getting my PMP certification. My avatar is a picture of me in Paris, but here is a picture of me in front of the Coliseum rocking my GAF tshirt.

I made that shirt!

Hi I'm Greg. I'm 28 and live in Pittsburgh.

I think I'll be a better poster on NeoGAF if I post my name and photo... gotta be responsible for my posts then, right?

Just buzzed my hair real close last night. I look kinda weird but I like it. I'm slowly turning into my avatar.

My avatar is one of my cartoon characters. I've been working very hard on my cartoon and I think GAF will like it. The very first "episode" or scene is ~2minute and I'm extremely close to finishing. I can't wait to post it and see people's reaction.

Hi, I am David, I am 28 about to be 29 on October 30th. I am from Costa Rica, currently searching for a Girlfriend lol. (If there is anyone interested here PM me lol)

Great story! I have actually been living with my fiancee for essentially our entire time dating as well. We started dating and then a few weeks later she went to do study abroad for about 10 weeks. We chatted nightly on AIM and used calling cards and whatnot. I ended up having to take another class over summer to have enough credits in some distinction or another so I was staying in an apartment with some friends.

When she got back, she let the person who was house sitting for her stay a bit longer since the girl was out of a job and decided to move into the apartment I was in (with the other guys' blessing of course) with me until the end of the summer semester which was about a month. Once I graduated, I stayed in town and moved in with her (into a studio where we shared a twin bed for 2+ years) and the rest was history.

I'll take a crack at this. Linh?!
Linh can be a boy's name??? LOL

I do have a Vietnamese friend and a family member named Linh though. They are both girls.

You're not also a Tam are you? It's either that or Phuong lol
I do have one uncle named Tam and one aunt named Tam!

But yeah, you got it. I am the John/Jane Smith of Vietnamese names: Phuong Nguyen.

Everyone in this thread seems so amazing. I can't even process it all.. *flops*

Kyle, 26 from New Jersey, currently residing in New York City. Went to undergrad in NJ, law school in NY, and now pretending to be an adult and hoping people buy it. Live with my girlfriend of almost five years.

I somehow count Japanese RPGs, slice-of-life anime, standup comedy, awesomely bad Jason Statham movies, science fiction novels, an unhealthy obsession with the NY Football Giants, rap, trance, and weightlifting as my likes. It can be all a bit confusing to people I meet: depending on what and how much they learn about me, I can get stereotyped into various groupings that wind up being way off (douche clubhead, COD dudebro, weeaboo...).

EDIT: Also, my last name begins with a G. KG. Cagey.

Argentina ey? I'd love to. Too bad the ticket is 900 euros. Had there not been so much water I could've walked.
You can still get here by walking.

Back and forth on the upper deck of a ship.

That's an awesome name and that's coming from someone named Guy.

Lmao. I always thought I was the John Smith of Vietnamese names being Tam Nguyen. It's one of the reasons why I go by the pseudonym Johnny, most people invariably call me John anyhow. I have an aunt named Phuong as well. That's how you know you're Vietnamese, you've got a relative named Phuong :l You should take a shot at the art thing BTW. My sister went to the School of Visual Arts for cartooning. Everyone in my family opposed it, but life's short; sometimes you gotta follow your calling. I'm sure Scorcho would tell you the same if he was still around :/

The amount of anime/sports fandom crossover in this thread amuses me. I wonder how many sports fans would own up to that IRL away from the safety of online anonymity

My name is Imran. I'm 26, graduated from college in Atlanta, and am looking to get my masters in Creative Writing and my PhD in Journalism. I am a former video game journalist that went to school, got my degree, and does freelance political journalism now.

I have one brother who works for Dropbox in San Francisco and I used to live in England.

I have a cousin named Linh and another one named Phuong (and yes, Nguyen is my name). So your post freaked me out, but then I remembered my cousin is married, so she's probably not named Nguyen anymore.

But yeah, I freaked out a little. o_o

I only say that bc I know 4 girls and 2 guys named Linh. At least I'm not a Nguyen. Too many of those.

I don't see what's wrong with that. I have varying interests.

Hi, I'm Nathan. Here is a picture of me I deem acceptable, and one I do not.

I study English Literature & Creative Writing at a university in Twickenham, London. I have a girlfriend, our third anniversary is on the 4th November. I have two brothers - one of who also posts here - my mum and my dad, and a gorgeous golden retriever.

I support Manchester United, and most my posts are in the football thread. I love movies. I love music, Bob Dylan and Radiohead specifically. I love Chinese food. I love coming up with new names for penises.

Despite having quite the annoying, vulgar, immature posting style (G-Fex come back to me <3), I'd like to think I'm an okay guy. Love the GAF community. I really do. Cheers guys.
