Free update is out: it adds 20 new levels, and based on the trailer, they look devilishly difficult.

Speaking of which, here's the trailer:

Mutant Mudds was fantastic as it was, but this just sweetens the deal.

Yep. You could've used her in the other levels too if you 100% the initial game. It was pointless though, since you already got everything and having everything busted the level design(purposefully, I know) This looks like you actually need everything to even complete the levels. Judging from that video, I'm going to fail really hard...

Posted it in the other thread days ago. But i guess newnewsnewthread rule hits here.

or did they just came out in the US?

anyway, the levels are pretty great. Hell, it's a free bonus.

Can't wait, will download as soon as I get home. And will play for hours. I really love Mutant Mudds.

Still stuck on the last space level in this game. Just too damn hard. I gladly welcome new levels though.

awesome. downloading now, hopefully these levels are as challenging as they look in the trailer. the original levels were fun, but a tad on the easy side

I hope this gets them a boost in sales as well.
Why is there no front page attention for this in the eShop? I would have never even known about it had I not seen the notification. Why not give these people some press for a semi popular game on their digital platform that just got a batch of free levels? Good way to possibly bring in new buyers right?

Also keep in mind, you can't play these levels until you've beaten the main levels. Kinda sucks, as these last couple of space levels are kicking my arse!

I had to stop trying to grab everything in one run. When I intentionally left pieces to grab on a second run, it got slightly easier. Slightly lol

Beat the first four stages. They're all fantastic thus far. Amusing that this free DLC is better than the paid DLC for NSMB2.

Wait! You have to beat the game 100% to unlock the levels? :(
Since it appears you can't access the levels without at least two of the power-ups on you before entering the stage, and the only way to do that is play as Grannie, who is unlocked via 100% completion, yes.

Yes. The levels are meant to be played as grannie, and you can only have access to grannie when you finish the game 100%.

Downloaded the levels but I think I'll play it only on saturday. Loved the original levels, and I'm sure that will love the new ones.

They're really ultra-hard mode stages, so it makes sense you can't just open them up straight away. Having to use all three power ups at once makes the stages much more interesting too and opens up a lot more gameplay ideas.

Damn, that creeped up on us fast.

I beat the game a while ago and I knew it was coming soon but October has gone by so quick. Will download soon, I loved Mutant Mudds!

...aaaaaaaand done!

Fun stuff. Took me two sittings to complete the new levels. I don't want to sound too braggadocios, but these new levels seemed about on par sometimes with the regular secret levels. Looking forward to the Wii U Mutant Mudds!

Haha, found a bug on one of the original ice worlds. Trying the high jump on the right wall near the end results in you clipping through the wall, and then falling to your death behind it. Entertaining.

Progress note: 8 CGA stages finished.

I love how Grannie's Attic turns into a giant trophy case :D

I finished the first CGA level, so good. It's too bad the file select screen hasn't been updated to reflect your progress through the new stages as well.

8 CGA stages done and just loving the hell out of it. While I always believed this was a fantastic game, I'm able to appreciate it even more fully now that a significant amount of time has passed.

It's also stunning on the 3DS XL.

I'm almost certainly going to be picking up the Wii U version, and hopefully there'll be some new content, but I would love for a fully realized sequel.

Haven't played this game in ages. I went back to it and was slowly and carefully creeping my way through this annoying ice level, when BAM! TIME EXPIRED!

Didn't even remember it HAD a stupid timer since I never had it run out ever before.

Also, enemies that can shoot you from off screen are total BS.
