I have some better games then previous times I did this, so I am going to do a little activity as well.

I want people to make a haiku ( 5-7-5 syllables) about why you want the game/related to the game they don't have to be fancy just need to fit the rules, feel free to do more than one verse to your haiku. First person to post a haiku about the game gets the code. and I will PM them the Steam code to the game after I read their haiku.

and respawned at best is 3 I would count it as two but you could technically pronounce it as re-spawn-ed

technically you are at 5-6-5 now as horror is only 2 syllables but I can think of a way to say it with 3 so I will allow it ^^

Shout outs to Drain You for sending me the PC game of Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver!

It came in today before work and I'm pouring through forums and patches right now to get it up and running. Currently trying to find a setting in "run in win 98/me" compatibility mode that lets it play without video errors. I got it running earlier with errors, but the story and atmosphere was really tight before the video pooped out and I know I don't want to miss that stuff now. I would have kept playing, but I forgot and had my 360 pad still plugged up to the PC which this game will read as a throttle after certain cinematics locking you into running in circles.

What I played before I derped it with an incompatible controller dangling from my PC was surprisingly tight on controls. Textures for that time period are pretty darned impressive compared to other stuff I've witnessed from that era. Yeah yeah blocky models no Displacement maps yadda yadda. I dont care haters. These games had something like a 500 mb limit back then and thats including all videos and audio alongside of textures with bad compression technology. Might have been smaller than that even but I can't remember the specifics from that Naughty Dog Interview I saw on Crash Racing that mentioned their limits.

Suffice it to say that for the limitations I knew they had this is pretty impressive looking to achieve what they got and thats coming from someone who works with CG. Of course I haven't played around hardly any yet to judge the scope of the game, but one thing at a time.

Thanks for this gem Drain You. I've been wanting to tear into this series for years. Here's hoping with Eidos resurrecting franchises like Deus Ex and Tomb Raider that they'll take notice of this franchise again soon.

EDIT: Played awhile and although the camera is obviously dated I think it does the job. I'm digging the way you have to look around the environment for tools to kill enemies. Also the life meter draining in the real world without souls is pretty interesting. It makes you take risks and chase enemies or you run out of time to do stuff. Atmospheric and then some for such an old game. Dated but super memorable. Can't wait to start getting new skills.
