I hope Woodward fires Sark in the locker room after the game when Oregon State inevitably wins. Team is a total fucking dumpster fire right now.

Yeah, this loss sucks.

Qualifies on the famed Bill Simmons' scale of losing as, "Goose/Maverick Tailspin."

Why does it qualify as such?

The Big East is no longer a BCS conference. In order for a school to still be "BCS caliber" in the conference it needs to go on a TCU run.

No matter what happens with the rest of this season, the loss to Kent State effectively ended that. It delivered a traumatic assault to any attempt to building the recruiting momentum necessary to being a TCU-type team. No matter what happens from here on out, Rutgers is the ranked team that lost to a team that lost to Kentucky. Kentucky, the team that might be the worst BCS team in at least the past 6-7 years. This is one of the few times where the transitive property should apply.

Rutgers is fucking over. Louisville still has some hope, but Rutgers' goose is cooked.

Thanks team. You just fucked over your fans for a long ass time.
thanks for killing the big east

this team so fucking undisciplined, it's disgusting.

edit: nice throw and catch.

The thing that disgusts me the most is the fucking offense. Offensive "guru" as a head coach and the defense is carrying the team because we have one of the worst offenses in all of Division I.

edit-I mean, I'm thrilled with what just happened and will love to win. Still can win out to salvage this season.

What lie did he tell?

The importance of his religion and that he and his buddy weren't a package deal.

USC was willing to let him go on a mission but they couldn't spare a scholie for his friend. So he picks ND, skips his mission and his friend gets a magical last minute offer from the Irish.

The Texas game is like the only game Stoops gets up for. What a fucking joker.

totally made his name vs texas and his run in his first three years. but he dominated the conference and had OU relevant on the national stage for a decade. that's not a bad legacy, even with the chokes. he's unjustly is put with wilkinson and switzer as part of OU's coaching history, but it was a good run

I know the loss is painful, and it really looks terrible when you put it like that, and I'm also smarting after seeing the potential that my Cards face no ranked teams this year...

...BUT...

You have a guy with his first big head coaching gig who came in on a year with a preparation setback...and he started 7-0. Embarassing loss aside, Kyle Flood has still did a better job than a lot of folks would have been able to do, under these circumstances.

Great play call Sark, lets run a fucking pass pattern to our RB when Kasen Williams has been doing everything in his power to save your job this season.

Is Kansas State now No. 2? I fear voters will go omG! ND beat Oklahoma and put them No. 2. Voters will forget K State also beat Oklahoma. :(

I'd feel bad for KSU, but if NDU beats USC then they deserve the #2 slot. Long way to go of course, and I doubt KSU wins out. Who knows? Both they and NDU seem to have that magic going

Going to be interesting for Bama. It's going to be their first title game where they will hear about "should win big". Worst kind of games to play. Joyless as a fan.

Why? Beating a likely 3 loss USC should vault them over a conference champion?

Kansas State beat Oklahoma by 5. Notre Dame beat Oklahoma by 17.

Yeah. And Florida destroyed South Carolina who destroyed Georgia, so we should have just skipped today and assumed a win.

1) Bama - Win out and they're in.
2) K-state - Win out and they're in based on strength of schedule.
3 ) Notre Dame - Remaining schedule isn't tough enough to jump K-state, need them to loose.
4) Oregon - Remaining schedule isn't tough enough to jump ND or K-state, need both to loose.

Well at least ESPN might stop lobbying for Oregon.

What makes us less legitimate than K State or ND? Serious question. What exactly are you guys seeing that the coaches and AP aren't? And do not say "strength of schedule" because none of you are a damn computer.

I'm not transitive three-balling it or whatever. I was comparing two wins versus the same exact team.

And I'm pointing out that scores from a game don't really tell you anything useful. Outside a blowout, perhaps. Different teams, different matchups, different mistakes made. Even with the same team.

Florida beat Kentucky by 38, Georgia beat Kentucky by 5.

Obviously Florida is the far superior team.

You aren't transitive three balling it, but you are sure as hell three balling it.

Just got back to my hotel.....I AM SO PUMPED. I can't believe it.....what I great game. I told you all at the beginning of the week. This is what ND football is about take your pick. 31-30 over Miami. Blowing out #1 Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Beating Alabama 24-23 to win the NC. Go back to Leahy or Rockne, I don't care. This is who we are. this is what we do. We are the greatest program in the history of college football.
SUCK IT!!!!
