I think the point they're trying to relay is that they have (almost) all the apps other platforms have, well all the good one's at least. Just make ie10 amazing or give me chrome for WP8 and I'm good, that's my power app.

As for what you really meant... I don't know what apps you think take a long time to launch, but I haven't found many that do. Certainly not significantly longer than I have noticed on any other phone/tablet I have used.
