Man, you should totally watch the shitstorm that happens every time a game is not localized to Spanish. Recently, Nintendo Spain chose to not distribute Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance due to Square not translating the game.

Most people don't really speak English here, even if they study it for almost ten years (and that's without counting college) and get really furious whenever shit like this happens. I'll never understand it, but oh well...

Ojo, igual estoy hablando de doblajes. Subtitulos siempre vienen bien.

Yo siempre juego con subtitulos en Ingles, pero entiendo como gente de habla hispana se puede enojar si no tienen la opcion de usar subtitulos en español

I'm in the lowest level spanish class my university gives.

Yet I'm in graduate classes in psychology and sociology. (Don't have an official degree until I finish 2 semesters of a language.)

So far this is the hardest class I've ever taken by a WIDE margin I've had a 3.9 gpa through college before now.

Anyone who started Spanish as their 2nd language have any tips in learning Spanish instead of simply memorization? Then throwing it all on the test and then forgetting it all the next day? At this point the book/tests could be in some made up sci-fi language and my grade would still only be decent due to hours and hours of memorization right before tests.

If this is OT or not allowed just ignore me and sorry y'all.

De hecho las versiones en Español de Red y Blue fueron como ediciones especiales, en realidad hemos tenido todas en Inglés. Afortunadamente. Y al menos no nos cambiaron los nombres de los Pokémon como en Francia o Alemania. Aunque debo admitir que Pummeluff me gusta más que Jigglypuff.

Only advice I could give as someone who had it the other way around (learning english): try to watch/play/listen to things in spanish with subtitles in your free time. Find something that you're genuinely interested in and try to enjoy it that way. It might take a while but I think it's a great way to learn

then again Spanish is arguably a lot harder than English, so good luck for what it's worth I actually never studied and im now in the process of doing the top rank English exam (wich people ussually study 6 year to take) based purely on this "method", and im acing it

Recuerdo mal, o en las versiones en español del Blue y Red no se podía usar el glitch de Missingno? Yo por suerte los jugué en inglés, pero unos amigos lo tenían en castellano y se tuvieron que fumar la liga leveando los pokemocos a mano. Nada supera a los Rare Candies (casi) infinitos, o las Master Bola, o el Zubat lvl 125.

I'm a native speaker, but it really all comes down to letting yourself get loose with the language. Start listening to Spanish radio/tv shows, even if you don't understand most stuff. You will eventually be able to discern words from one another, though obviously it's quick process.

Find something that you're genuinely interested in and try to enjoy it that way. It might take a while but I think it's a great way to learn

Yeah, pretty good advice. Getting involved with the language really helps a lot. That's how I've learned English. Spanish grammar really is a bit more difficult though.
