Wii U in 2013: What is there to look forward to?

So I know a lot are pretty hyped up for the launch of Nintendo's new system. For the ones getting one, you may already have your games lined up. The holidays will end soon and with it we have to look ahead to 2013.

Other than your expected Pikmin 3, what else is there to look forward to in 2013, especially Wii U exclusives not on PS3 and XBox 360?

Personally, I believe they are not hyping the games after the launch window for two reasons:

1. Hyping the current titles and increasing the sales of these games
2. Preventing people holding off buying the console, because a lot will say it would be better to save their money and get the system with next Metroid than with Zombi U

I wish they would announce a new trauma center game for the Wii U. I think this game would be perfect for the platform more than the Wii ever was.

This, it's a pretty good marketing tactic. We'll probably have a nintendo direct in January about the first half of the year, then of course e3 will give us the info for the rest of the year.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, TW101... And these are just for the first quarters. There are still many surprises, I am sure of this.

I think what concerns me in 2013 is that there's a lot of games that are coming out on the other systems that have no reason not coming out on Wii U, but aren't coming to Wii U, or not announced anyway.

Monster hunter 3 ultimate
Wonderful 101
Pikmin 3

These ones should be a lock for Q1 2013, as for Q2-Q3-Q4, I hope they're going to make some announcements soon, maybe there may be a new Mario kart coming in 2013.

I will just say that I hope Nintendo announce some new titles after launch day.

IIRC, this is the first time that we basically know of zero software past launch window (Bayo 2 and Smash Bros. excepted) for any console, and I'm not sure it's a tactic that I like.

Wonderful 101
Pikmin
Monster Hunter

What else do you need?

Bayonetta 2 might be the best game of all time. It's the sole reason I'm getting a WiiU.

At the moment I'm only excited for Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Monster Hunter and Lego City Stories. E3 will be fun :)

Smash Bros
Pikmin 3
Bayonetta 2
Wonderful 101
Monster Hunter

Pretty much everything that has been mentioned so far. As for my personal tastes, I'm looking forward to Rayman Legends, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, and The Wonderful 101. Beyond that though I'm not really sure of the future aside from Smash Bros., but given that it will be the Wii U's second holiday next year I'm hoping for a strong fall lineup.

Rayman Legends (January)
Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes (Q1)
Pikmin 3 (Q1)
The Wonderful 101 (Q1)
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (March)
Two Brothers (tba)
Bayonetta 2 (hopefully)
Dragon Quest X Online (hopefully)

Already the best lineup of console exclusives for 2013.

This is totally right. The launch is generally difficult for every console... And it's surely better to announce games some months before, not years. It was really devastating to hear that Paper Mario and Kid Icarus would come the next year... Those delays... I am sure that 2013 will be a great year for Wii U. There will probably be a "dead period" around summer, but nevertheless the year will be awesome.

I've got no interest whatsoever in Bayonetta but Wonderful 101 looks great. Other than that I have no idea, looks pretty barren till they announce a few titles at E3.

Bayonetta 2
Monster Hunter Tri G Ultimate
The Wonderful 101
Pikmin 3

Possibly secret Nintendo titles and more third party titles revealed
F-Zero could make it in 2013

Probably not released in 2013 but will be shown
New Monolith title
New Retro Studios title
Possibly Platinum Games developed Star Fox

Honestly I think that's a mistake. The launch lineup is great, for a launch lineup, but people need something to look forward to as well, to justify the purchase. Right now we can only assume that the usual big Nintendo fracnhises will be there eventuelly. The fans knows there will be a bunch of great first party titles, because they trust nintendos dev teams, but they need to show something to win over the masses

They'd better announce some games before E3

Don't forget Aliens: Colonial Marines guys. Yeah, it's multiplatform, but the Wii U version blatantly is the one to get if you're a die hard fan of Aliens.

Given the fact that Miyamoto recently expressed polite surprise at the idea that people wanted more F-Zero, I doubt that.

I'm certain we'll see Mario Kart in 2013, though.

Is that really necessary at this point though? It will (most likely) be sold out for the first few months anyway, so I don't see the need for them to start doing something like that until next year.

There won't be a new console from MS or Sony until the end of 2013 either, so there isn't too much pressure on Nintendo yet.

I believe, most of the people who aren't assured yet about their purchase, will not buy the system now even if the titles they want are announced for 2013; they will just buy the system next year, at a cheaper price. And even more probable, people are not going to pay for the 'software' now and opt to save for bigger titles, which was the main problem with the Wii and 3rd party relationships to begin with.

And regardless, it is not like that anyone expects Wii U to sell like 10m in the launch window; I believe if they just hit their predictions of 6m and specially the attach ratio of 4, it will be a very good success for Wii U.

Can Nintendno announce a game during the VGAs?

Speaking of which, I feel that other unannounced Ps360 ports may spring up shortly, like ihappened recently with Need for speed.
