Many words have been spilled here regarding the differential statistics for this year's electorate. Yet no one has discussed that Romney has such a commanding lead in married men and women compared with single ones.

What possible effects, if any, does marriage have a man/woman's voting decisions? Any married denizens out there willing to pitch some ideas and give some insight as to how their voting decisions have changed since being hitched?

unmarried men/women are younger
 
Are there any numbers for married people with children versus without children? How about married women with children versus single women with children?
 
Marriage = tradition

Not marriage = sad sack losers

Really, it's high correlation has less to do with marriage itself and more to do with everything else about the demographics in which marriage is more prevalent.

Beats me. I eagerly voted for Obama in 2008 as a single man and just as eagerly voted for him last week as a married one. I don't see what changes things.

Cat owners under the age of 50 will be liberal. Cat owners above the age of 50 will be conservative.

Dog owners above the age of 30 will be conservative. Dog owners under the age of 30 will be liberal.

All of that is just a guess, but I would be willing to bet it's true.
 
Most married people don't buy into hope and change and other buzzwords as easily after being out in the real world.
 
Married skews older than Single. And Obamas numbers would be up if people could marry who they wanted to marry (Gay marriage).

Lets be real here. Its all about voting ones interests. So the government dependent people etc. are obviously going to vote for the party that promises to keep delivering the goods.
 
People who google Top Chef also have a strong correlation with Obama voters. What exactly is it about googling Top Chef that makes you vote for Obama? So weird.

Exactly. Single people are part of the 47% of America who'll vote for Obama no matter what. Because they just want to take. Why milk the cow when you can make other people milk it for you and then drink the milk anyway?

What handouts do single men get? If you want government handouts you've got to be a single woman with a kid or kids.

Probably not, but who cares, out of all the methods to stimulate the economy and provide for the well being of your citizens, EBT has to be the most efficient. It's a guaranteed monthly shot in the arm of a local economy. Being able to take care of more people in need is a good thing.

There was a study that showed that food stamps are the single best economic stimulus per dollar spent. It generates $1.73 of economic stimulus for every dollar of input.
