It'd be cool if they could post up a response video to the GTA: V trailer like they did for when Bioshock Infinite was announced.

I must say, that GTA V trailer was fantastic, but so was the GTA IV one and that game is dogshit. Won't get me this time Rockstar!

They did a video after Bioshock Infinite's announcement because of Ken Levine and that brand's impact on the industry. No matter what GTA V turns out to be, it's going to majorly impact the rest of the industry.

I know, I just wish people didn't fall into the hype so easily.

I liked GTA 4 well enough. The only thing that truly turned me off was the fucking cellphone. The backlash was mighty strong, though. I definitely understand the complaints and the hype was stupidly high prior to launch but the way people turned on the game was interesting to see.

I'll tell you kids a wonderful piece of advice. Satisfaction = Reality / Expectations.

The base GTA IV games was so stupid because the story and the gameplay was completely at odds. you have Nico saying that he wants to get away from the violence, then he turns around and ices a woman. The story missions did not help at all "I want to get out of this life, but okay I will kill this man for you". The fact that it was touted as an Oscar-worthy story made the backlash especially brutal. I'm not even gonna delve into the game's shitty, boring overworld and being called to see some "Big American teetees!"

The expansions were better, but not enough for me.

GAF is honestly one of the only places where I've seen anything resembling a "backlash" to GTAIV, it actually took me by surprise when I first joined. What always bothered me about a lot of the hate the game gets around here is that people use(d) the one comically overzealous IGN review (the one that was 8 pages long and used the infamous and oft-quoted "Oscar-caliber story" line) as an excuse to shit on the game itself.

In my four+ years on GAF I've realized that a lot of GTAIV hate that gets thrown around here is actually just hatred and annoyance with the overly positive reviews the game got more than the game itself. It's a strange phenomena. This doesn't apply to everyone on GAF who didn't like GTAIV obviously, plenty disliked it for completely valid reasons, which I have no problem with.

I will never ever argue that GTAIV was perfect. The shooting was clunky, Nico was a psychopath despite the story trying its hardest to convince you otherwise, the lack of a checkpoint system made a lot of the missions a pain in the ass, and your friends calling you to ask if you wanted to go look at tits was annoying as all hell.

But at the end of the day I really enjoyed it, I'm a sucker for a convincing open-world/sandbox game, and GTAIV nailed that. Plus, I'm one of the crazy people who thught the driving mechanics were just fine, certainly floaty, but I had no problem with them.

The driving in GTA was my favorite. I really enjoyed knowing that there was a certain feel to each car and that you had to actually drive the car. An SUV shouldn't do 90MPH around corners.

Jeff never played RDR, did he?

Blows my mind considering how much he loved GTA IV.

(GTA 4 is a top 10 game of all-time, anyone who hates it is an idiot)

He said he played it but just didn't like it. Didn't click for him I guess.

Same thing happened to one of my friend. He's a HUGE GTA4 fan and couldn't play more than 2 hours of RDR.

I don't get it either, RDR was so fucking amazing.

He loved the characters in GTA 4 so much and they do it even better in RDR, that's what surprises me so much. I guess it was more a personal thing with the characters in GTA IV, but still, loving GTA 4 and not RDR just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm quite baffled how Jeff can give blops2 and halo 4 the same score. His read from the quick look and bombcast sounds like the two games are massively separated in his eyes. But both are 4's

I know they aren't the same game but seriously, Jeff clearly sees cod is a better light than halo, it's really weird to me that it isn't reflected in the score.

Because they're not grading on a curve. They're not comparing games to each other when they review them.

Giant Bomb's real anime editor.

Actually, he knew in advance that there would be zombies in the game at some point therefore he hates it.

lol

I'm in the minority who didn't love the zombie DLC in RDR, too.

Woulda be fine if cleared out towns didn't keep getting infected. That annoyed me. That's just a weird personal thing, though, I liked the writing and quirkyness of it.

Yeah I don't remember much of the DLC. I remember liking the story/cutscenes but didn't care for the rest.

That review is ice cold. Reads like a 0 star.

Daaaaaaaamn.

Damn. Wasn't this Vita's big holiday game?
Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation too, I guess? But, uh, I think AC3:L, while it has some decent ideas and gets pretty fun at times, lacks cohesiveness and is plagued by bugs and audio issues & compression.

Persona 4: Golden?

owwww that is one bad game ! :O
I already knew it was not going to be good, but THIS bad lol @ thinking this was going to be a vita seller and big vita game for the Holiday.

Seems like reviewers are calling it trash but a lot of GAFers love it.

Think I'd trust reviewers over desperate Vita owners at this point, though. That review really does make it sound terrible. Can't wait to hear Jeff trash it verbally. Wonder if Ryan will have played since he got a Vita.

Out of all the games to vehemently defend, they chose Declassified. Bummer job

Funny, this game wasn't really in my radar and I wasn't really planning on getting a vita but that psn+ deal they have right now looks really attractive to me. Might pick up a vita if they have a deal next week.

The power of CoD. They were right all along.
