What if NSMBU is as good or better than some of those? What if?
Have you considered that?
So is this game basically a HD version of the Wii game we've already got?

I was actually thinking the same thing. Very strange. The gameinformer delay doesn't make much sense to me. They reviewed Nintendo Land and I'm guessing that has just as much miiverse functionality in it than NSMBU has.
No I haven't considered that, because it isn't.
I'm sure it'll be a solid game, but the ones I listed are classics.
Making sense is boring huh?
Damn, everything i say is boring, even when its not! The curse of having a tag i suppose.
Sounds like it's good, but not the killer app that a Mario game should be.
Yes, but they probably want to try how the game interacts with that. Personally I think it's a positive thing that they wait so they can paint a more complete picture.Right, but hasn't that more to do with Wii U system's features?
A lot of people will probably see this as a classic too.
It's a placeholder until EAD Tokyo's game comes out.
Seemingly a fantastic placeholder.
What I'd give for that game at launch.
Twilight Princess.Uh what?
Mario 64 (N64)
Super Mario World (SNES)
Super Mario Bros. (NES)
Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
Tetris (Gameboy)
Halo CE (Xbox)
All beg to differ.
Sounds like it's good, but not the killer app that a Mario game should be.
I am REALLY REALLY interested with this game's Miiverse integration.
I'm glad it isn't a launch game because games like that need much more time.
I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
Review scores aren't killer app tests. If they were Nintendo has been low-balled for the last 8 years.
People born after 2000? :lol
Surely you know a classic isn't automatically born as one?No I haven't considered that, because it isn't.
I'm sure it'll be a solid game, but the ones I listed are classics.
Try reading ANY of the reviews.
I seen some of the reviews but when you look at the videos. A lot of it looks 'recycled' from the Wii version.
To me, from the vids I've seen. It looks a lot like a HD version of something we've already got. Hence the question.
New Super Mario Bros U review: The best 2D Mario in decades
The Good
Excellent, inventive level design, reminiscent of the 2D Mario classics
Plenty of hidden secrets to keep you busy
Game isn't afraid to ramp up the challenge as it progresses
Sharp, colorful high-definition graphics
Boost mode is surprisingly fun and shows off the Wii U GamePad
The Bad
The flying squirrel suit is kind of lame
Playing with three or four characters on-screen gets crowded
The Ugly
Why is Bowser Jr. still around now that the Koopa Kids have returned?
Verdict: Buy It, but don't necessarily buy a Wii U just for it
Surely you know a classic isn't automatically born as one?
It's possible they are only allowed to show footage from certain levels. Maybe they have to keep some stuff secret.
Hate the art style
Hate the music
Hate what you want
This is one of the best reviewed launch games of all time - you should give it a try when you have the chance to
He said ONE OF, not just THE BEST. If it were the latter, yeah, I'd call bullshit with games like Twilight Princess, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario World around. As ONE OF THE BEST though, well, consider the dire state of most launches. This probably is one of the top 10, if not top 5 there. Hopefully ZombiU joins it, with Nintendo Land providing support.Holy hyperbole. No.
In the few reviews I read, they talk about some abstract quality, back or close to past games genius or how it makes advancements to the formula and of course criticizing nsmb2 and even wii in the same time, but all of that without describing anything.
Amazing
Is any of these review videos in hd? The gamexplain video is good but the quality is not hd

Brad at Giant Bomb is also waiting for Miiverse functionality to go live until putting up a review.
What I'd give for that game at launch.

SMG2 seems a while ago to me!
I will check tksThe Gamexplain review mentioned it's mostly the small touches that make it better, like the baby yoshi.
Did you have it set to 720p? It shows up as hd for me. It could also just be youtube's compression
Oh wow
So sensitive when I call it ONE of the best reviewed launch games of all time :lol
I never said a thing about what people will think about it, but so far it seems the press seems to agree that it is a good game. But nooo, that's not possible for some of you - deal with it
I love it that I see so many people talking about the return of the Koopa Kids as something new... have they played NSMBW?
