Hello There, Racists!

Goddamnit - it doesn't surprise me that there are so many racists, but it literally astonishes me there are so many unabashed public racists. People who present themselves to friends, families, peers and either deliberately or inadvertently to the world as if racism is OK.

Frankie... duuuude, if you were in the south on election day with the number of "don't re-nig 2012" bumper stickers I saw on my way to work, you wouldn't be surprised.

The fact some of these people think it's okay to put shit like that on their cars is downright insane.

Those posts are very offensive, just a heads up.

I never understood what 'coon' means, I know it is a racial slur, just looked it up, mind blown! WTF?

Also, most of those posts are from very few States, mostly mid-west.

Being there's so much stupidity here as of late, there needs to be a big fat /sarcasm tag on posts like that. It's getting hard to tell the difference between sarcasm and idiocy.
Nah. That was pretty clear sarcasm. Ease up on the trigger, too much friendly fire.

High school kids aren't safe either. They've got all her info on there. Sorry about your damn luck, Lauren.
Duck face!!!

People have a freedom of speech. Yes, they might use that freedom for awful things, but it's still their right. We shouldn't be attacking people for exercising their right to free speech. Just ignore it, and if they have no audience to speak to, they'll shut up.

Part of having free speech means we have the duty to confront those propagating bad ideas (such as racism) and tell them they are being stupid. Silence is consent, and I will not play part in it.

Just putting it out there that I'm all for this, and hope that it continues. Actions have consequences. Deal with them.

I am astonished that people are defending these cretins.

These people are absolutely fucked when it comes to future employment.

Not sure I agree with dumb kids being screwed over for life because you definitely say stupid things when you're young that you might not even mean (not saying that's right) and then grow out of it... but for anyone out of school I have no sympathy for them. Deserve to be named and shamed, really.

This is overexaggerating, they are not fucked for future employement.

This being openly racist trend, while nice to weed them out better, is a growing epidemic that has really gotten out of hand and into dangerous territory. It needs to be publicly looked down upon and the people shamed, not nurtured. Yes people can grow out of it, but just like anything else it needs a catalyst to happen.

I'm fine with these people being put on blast.

That will teach them that life has serious consequences if you do rather stupid shit (on the internet for all to see).

I'm not saying it's right - because it's not - and I agree these people need to be confronted about it. I'm just not sure that having this up on the internet for millions of people to see is the best way to go about it for people of a certain age.

And I know first hand stories of people who have had job troubles because of profile pictures on FB etc. Imagine what a Google of these kids' names will bring up for employers. Having issues with employment is a real issue due to social networking, this will be trouble for some of them. Maybe it's tough luck because they're racist scum, or maybe it's something stupid they did as a kid that they grew out of and are now perfectly adjusted adults. It's a big gamble to put their details up, I think.

Um.

They are the ones who put it up on the internet for millions to see.

You know there is an easy solution for avoiding not getting hired because of racist comments - don't be racist. Besides, racists shouldn't get hired over a non-racist, this is just common sense.

Stupid people say stupid things, nothing new here to see; just tumblr exposing their sad, unimportant and miniscule existence in this world.

missing the forest for the trees.

I actually don't feel much towards them. I got used to the idea of the world being filled with racists a long time ago, but I like being able to put faces to it.

What really aggravates me are people trying to tell me that I should feel bad for people who are calling me a nigger, and that I should condemn the act of calling people out for calling me a nigger.

agreed, and eloquently put.

The blog is listing public information. Nothing was hacked, stolen, etc. The pictures contained were taken by the people themselves who had them up for public display. Even the moron who took a picture of his driving permit.

Initially I thought that the site might have gone too far - especially with regards to posting info about the ones who are still schooling. But really , in this day and age, society should have zero tolerance for such public displays of racism. And if naming and shaming every single one would help us move in that direction; then I'm all for it.

This (http://sg.news.yahoo.com/ntuc-assistant-director-says-sorry-for-racist-post.html )particular incident kicked up a storm a few weeks back in my country , where someone posted a racist comment on facebook. It was splashed all over the front pages of the major newspapers for about a week, and was even brought up in the parliament hearing. Some might say it was abit of an overkill - but I think people (sadly) need to be reminded that such behavior isn't acceptable

This is absolutely fantastic. They're posting schools, locations, etc. all from publicly available info. I hope they keep at it and I hope these people get fucked on background checks.

It's also worth pointing out that anyone can make Twitter / Facebook accounts and claim to be someone else - If I had a vendetta against someone I knew, I could easily make a fake twitter account using their info, blast a few racist tweets out, and end up on someone's racist tumblr page and potentially ruin future job prospects etc.

Slippery slope.

Yeah I can see this being a major problem. It's where stuff like this becomes dangerous.

It's funny how the kind of people who talk about a master race are always that kind of people who, if there was such a thing, clearly wouldn't be part of it.

If they're so worried about their future job prospects, they should start trying to become decent human beings, not the walking blobs they currently are.

Damn this forum is high and mighty. I'm not so naive to think that many people in this very topic have made racially derogatory comments about another person at some point or another. Yeah, the comments are hateful but I don't think some site should be out there trying to air everyone's dirty laundry either. We all have work to do and this sort of thing does nothing but keep the pot stirred.

The only thing that makes these people idiots is that they spewed it on the internet. I'm not going to judge someone simply because of an instance of bad judgement.

So being racist is ok if you don't tell the world?

Blatant racism isn't a moment of weakness nor an instance of bad judgement. Stop downplaying what these fools are saying and doing as if they had no choice or something.

What keeps the pot stirred is the large percentage of the population who look the other way when their friends, neighbors, family, and co-workers say racist shit. It's no one else's fault.

I think it is wrong to pigeonhole people by defining their entire existence off of a few comments. If we were all judge based on everything we have ever said then all of us here would look just as bad as these fools do right now. Get off of your moral high horse.

"Opps! My true feelings about an entire ethnic groups slipped out in a moment of anger... Silly me, just ignore that. K?"

If we can't judge people by their actions, how else should we? Skin color?

I participated in a stupid squabble in the dorms when I was a sophomore, and one of my dorm-mates said something to the effect that our RA (who was black) should go back to picking cotton. Whenever I think about it, it eats me up that I didn't speak out and tell my friend he was a fucking idiot for saying such a hurtful comment. I have to live with that now.
