Finally! :) I'm going to try to hold off until 4.0 to watch both... but doubt I'll manage.

It's going to be hard enough for me to wait for an English subbed BD release of this. For 2.22 I got the Hong Kong release, but I'm hoping that just maybe the Japanese release will be English subbed this time.

Totally not happening. But I'm mad that 1.11 didn't have Japanese subtitles but then 2.22 did. I can't stand such discrepancies!

Worst thread title ever. Just, what?
That's the name of the movie, bro.

When will I be able to watch this in the tongue of the western lands?
The Australian distributor is hoping for a (limited) theatrical release some time next year though who knows if that'll come to fruition. They've also got an Evangelion art exhibition tour planned. I was hoping they would be able to secure it for the Japanese Film Festival happening right now, but that was a farfetched hope.

Rest of you guys? Hah, wait for Funimation to take forever!

Currently there is nothing announced outside of Japan. That should change relatively quickly, but probably not that quickly for western countries in America and Europe. Based on the past two movies, I would expect that Asia will get the movie in cinemas within the first quarter of 2013.

Subscribed. I have 1.11 and 2.22 on Blu-Ray and enjoyed both of them a lot, so I'll look forward to the (eventual) Blu-Ray release of this.

Yeah I know not Wide or anything but like in the Arthouse Theaters and such?

Does this contain the final two 'parts' or are going to be waiting another 3 years for 4.0? They said they wanted to release parts 3 and 4 together but I had a feeling that would be too ambitious.

The first 6 minutes of the movie is airing on NTV right now as a preview for tomorrow's opening. Remember people, mark all spoilers, thx. :p

Now the long wait for living in America begins. I hope in a few years that I'll be sufficient enough in Japanese to see the unaltered version of the film (and if I'm really lucky, I'll be living in Japan during that time!).

Faaaaaaaaarrrrrrk. I'll have to wait till someone puts it up online it at this rate. ;_;

I wouldn't be surprised if they put it up online officially relatively soon. Most Japanese anime movies these days seem to have their first 6-10 minutes put online during the theatrical period to push the hype.

I should've taken a holiday and gone to Japan!

How close are these remakes to the original? I hear some of the plot is entirely changed. I haven't seen the original btw.

I can't believe they actually went full CG with the mecha action. Fucking disgusting. It's like watching an old friend get brutally murdered right before your eyes. ;_;

I am sure there will be some none-CG mecha action later on.

But I assume this one will be even more heavily CG focused.
