Who are the hottest posters on NeoGAF?

Mumei, Opiate, Bagels, and Marrec all constantly impress me with their intelligence.

There are a ton more, but I can't spend the time looking for all of them right now cause I am lazy :p

This forum is very much an intelligent one, no matter how often it descends into madness.
 
Just going to post some really intelligent posters who haven't really been mentioned much (or at all).

The bottom five are the unappreciated geniuses of Sales-Age. They keep the databases which is impressive in its own right, but they also are able to instill logic and reason into conversations with ease in threads where not a lot of logic is being used. There is a reason why NeoGAF is the best place on the internet to get sales information, it's because of these guys.
 
Stump and Opiate are mainly the ones I consider intelligent because they can also remain neutral.

There are other smart users out there but they either come off as pretentious or can still find a way to piss me off so I wont mention them.
 
Stump, for a specific name.

I'm most impressed with posters who can get into rational debates and keep their cool. Big bonus when words like "Hitler" and "Nazis" don't come into play. There are many posters who fit that bill, so kudos to them.

The #1 trick it to stay off the Gaming side of the forums. :)
 
Every one of Opiate's posts I see is some lecture that seemingly comes out of nowhere in which i'm rarely bright enough to understand.
 
I think most posters on Gaf have some area of expertise where they would come off as very intelligent while being completely braindead in others. A select few manage to become well versed in a variety of subjects which makes them stand out in the crowd however.

Mumei to me is one of the best posters on Gaf, just for well though out posts that gets the point across in a variety of subjects.

SmokeyDave: Posts like he's actually talking, also very meticulous and cautious with his words.

All these best of / "popularity contests" might suggest the usefulness of an annual Ig-Nobel-type awards (Neo-bel Awards [?]). I think the catergories could easily be determined by the older members that have kept a pulse on the commmunity. Has there been such a thing or would such a event not be welcomed?

The mods and the community are wise like nobody's business. I'd give most of the topical-help-threads as the best examples I've seen. "Stumpokapow" seems like fun to shout every now and then at random people that look you in the eye, while motioning an uppercut. I hope this is my fate when I finally snap, lose it, and turn hobo on society.
 
I don't really notice that much, but glad Cyan got some love. I think I notice his posts more because of College Football GAF, but he is a smart guy.

No. I got one nomination for both favourite poster and intelligent poster. This is as good as it gets for me - hottest dudes on gaf isn't working out for me.

I think posters like EmCeeGramr and AniHawk have wit too. I could put them in the same box. There are many intelligent posters here, so I'll just stop with the list for now. I'm somewhat tempted to put down posters that have other traits that I appreciate, though not "unintelligent." In addition there are the sort of "specialty" areas like a bunch of the moviegoing posters, where there are a lot of people who watch tons of movies and have a sense of context. Same for IronGAF. People have also mentioned Sales-Age posters too.

Opiate is an android and doesn't count. Stump is definitely up there though. Honestly, there are a ton of others. The mean IQ on this site is probably at least 120, possibly 130. I know for a fact that certain posters have tested as high as 180 when they were children. I know of several others who tested at 160 or above.
 
I hate making posts in these topics because I invariably think of new people later on, and then I worry about not being inclusive enough. But glancing at other peoples' lists since I posted, I would add kame-sennin, pigeon, Orayn, Ambiguous Cad, and GhaleonEB as people who were only mentioned a few times and have made me feel dumb at one time or another.
