I must agree though. You maintain a pretty playful persona, but when you deliberately decide to be serious on a topic, you have an uncanny talent for absolutely nailing the bullseye with your arguments, wording choice, tone, etc. It has not been an uncommon event for me to see you make an argument that I would have made myself, but in a more devastatingly concise manner. Heck, it's often to the point where I find myself saying, "Thank Nayru he's on my side of the issue!"
So.. let your head grow a bit (*nyuk-nyuk!*giggle*); it's justified in my book.
Why?
Of all the mods, he's only been mentioned once. Blood gods are smart too damnit.
A lot of names mentioned thus far seem to be people who sometimes go the extra mile to clean up their posts and protect themselves from counter-arguments. To me only dude for sure seems to be a different level is thosedeafmutes. Sometimes he gets serious in science/physics threads and drops some serious knowledge. I'm too lazy to follow up and see if it all is good tho.

Empty Vessel is my favourite poster. He articulates many of my own opinions in a manner worthy of attention
There are so many posters on NeoGAF that will read my mind and post what I wanted to post minutes before I have in a more concise and put together manner. Even people that I generally disagree with come across as extremely intelligent and reasoned. I would make a list of those people I consider greater than or equal to myself, but it would take way too fucking long and I'd leave way too many people out.
A different level in science/physics, sure. There are plenty of posters in here who are experts on a given topic. thosedeafmutes is in the top tier, for sure, but he's not on some higher level than many other people.
This thread serves as a pretty good short list, although I think some very worthy candidates were left out, and there were 2-3 inclusions (who made multiple people's lists!) that baffle me. Overall I'd say this forum has at least 100+ people who are incredibly intelligent, as well as quite a few who are sharp as a marble.

In all seriousness, Segata Sanshiro, Kaijima, ShockingAlberto, Stump, Opiate, Chris1964 and donny from SalesGAF, and empty_vessel from PoliGAF, though I'm not sure I agree with him. I've mainly just read sales/PoliGAF/Wii U threads, though.
Thunder Monkey is pretty intelligent too, when he's serious.

I'm not even going to try posting the names of those smarter than me. For one thing it would take too long, and I'd inevitably end up leaving off some names and that'd make me feel bad because I made someone else feel bad.

Sometimes I think I'm pretty smart, other days I'm not so sure. I think I feel the same way about posters. Sometimes they say something insightful but can be naive or thick-headed in another post.
I guess there are people who have been noticed who post a lot in their field and some people might mistake their domain knowledge for intelligence, not that they aren't intelligent but the fact that they know this that and the other thing on a subject doesn't come so much from a quick wit and an ability to parse information as it does from a history of experience. That experience is valuable but I wouldn't call it intelligence.

There are about 15 posters who consistently impress me. Each has made me feel inadequate at least a few times. Three of them are mods. One is Stumpy, obviously.
I value posters who are articulate and well informed.

There's this famous quote that I can't for the life of me remember or find online. It basically says that the real smart people are the ones who know what language to use to reach their audience. I would kill for that exact quote.
