Just started watch this 'coz Netflix is streaming it.

Holy shit.

Fucking phenomenal show. Elba is fucking marvelous. The chemistry between Luther and Alice. The cat and mouse game between the two. The camera work. The soundtrack. So good.

So damn good.

Alice is so attractive.

I freaking love Alice, what a crazy individual.

I thought he was alright in Thor, but it was a minor role. Maybe they'll give him more to do in the sequel. He's also got a film called Pacific Rim by Guillermo del Toro coming next year, as well as something called No Good Deed by the director of Luther's second season. So hopefully things turn around for him on the big screen, he definitely deserves it.

Pacific Rim sounds really cool but he's playing second-fiddle to Charlie Hunnam and that japanese chick from Babel. And he's probably just gonna be a generic mentor character.

His film roles don't reflect his talent at all judging by his stuff on TV. And he's black too so oh well, less interesting roles for him.

They should just go the full monty and give me an Alice series. She is the most interesting character anyway.
(and so delicious)

Kind of like a British Dexter.

I've rewatched this show like three times already. The chemistry between the characters is so natural. I like the fact that BBC series are this short. It makes the scripts a lot tighter compared to even a 12 episode run.

Generally higher production values too.

They started shooting Series 3 today.

Wow, had no idea this was coming back.

Need more Alice, for real. To me, their relationship is easily the best part of the show.

4 eps is better than nothing, but it also feels too short. 6 would be the sweet spot.

With that said, Luther is also a show I can see not lasting too long, so maybe less is more. I don't want them to run in to obvious problems that could occur if you milked it.

- Deadline.com: Sienna Guillory Joins Season 3 Of ‘Luther’
Resident Evil actress Sienna Guillory will romance Idris Elba‘s troubled English police detective Luther in the drama series’ upcoming third season. The BBC and BBC America co-production is readying a new run of four hour-long episodes which began filming last week. Per the BBC, this season puts John Luther
back under intense pressure, with two conflicting crimes to investigate and a ruthless ex-cop determined to bring him down. Guillory will play Mary, a worker in a vintage clothing shop, who meets Luther by chance.
Returning cast members include Warren Brown, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Dermot Crowley and Michael Smiley. Guest stars this season will include Lucian Msamati (Game Of Thrones) and Ned Dennehy (Tyrannosaur). Luther was created by Neil Cross who’s also behind the upcoming NBC pirate series Crossbones. Season 3 of Luther will air on BBC One in 2013; there’s no date yet for BBC America. Guillory is repped by Independent Talent and UTA and managed by Inspire Entertainment.

After reading so many posts about this show and how good it is. I told myself to start looking at it. I have to say its really awesome. First episode was really good. Trying to decide if I should look at each episode slowly or just marathon it in full.

Happy that a new season is starting too.

I was the same way and then I realized I couldnt stop marathon it everytime the preview showed up

Yessss, soo good.
Its a pity this series doesn't go full bore like US series.
4 episodes is just too short.

The quality is amazing though and being a shorter season means everything is much tighter and you dont end up with padding and waste.

Looks like we are getting a new series this year too. There was a medley advert on BBC1 last night showing off 2013 shows and it was there. Oh yes!

Glad to see so many people are enjoying this show.
Luther-GAF thrives.
I swear, it's as though there's somehow more of us every year.

If she can't be on the show full time, I'm ok with her just popping up when he needs to know how someone crazy is thinking and how to take them down.

I need to see the front of her, but I like shorter hair on women.

I'm just a little beyond confused why they don't put Alice in more episodes (besides of course Ruth Wilson being busy) when her chemistry with Luther was one of the best aspects of Season 1. It's like they know what the fans want and are content with making them squirm and wait with anticipation...

I want the department head from series 1 back so I can see her profusely apologizing to Luther for actually thinking he had killed
his wife.
there was just never enough follow up on the final events of series 1.

When does season 3 air? I recently started watching this, and I'm about to finish season two. I need my Luther fix!

Noticed this on netflix (they only have 6 episodes) and just finished ep 4, which was the weakest in them so far, but the overall quality is amazing. It's tight, no bullshit crime show and those are quite rare these days.

I hope they get more episodes in netflix asap.
