The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

Radec was the multiplayer map from KZ2, come on guys.

if the game had a better cast of characters, I might of actually bought it. But seeing new Dante, Raiden, Big Daddy, ect in there, is such a turn off for me. They didn't play up the nostalgia enough

Radetz is my favourite dragon ball character.

I'm still visiting the site every day waiting for something to show up, damn those american-only holidays.

Sony Smash really looks like they took all the bad parts of smash bros and replaced all the good stuff with total junk.

What a bummer of a game.

Actually it's the same thing worded differently. Didn't realize I had said that here though. Too much time on forums during work I guess.

This is my problem with it right here. The idea seemed creatively bankrupt from the start but I believe there was enough Sony nostalgia to justify its existence but instead of tapping that they went with opportunities to market future games.

Well I enjoy the gameplay immensely though, so after all I don't give a shit. So far I think it's actually moe complex than Smash because of how you have to set up people and a greater move variety.

I can respect that. My opinions are based on the concepts, not on the execution of its mechanics so its gameplay may very well justify its existence.

I agree that there is so much more Sony stuff that they could and probably should have included before even going into 3rd party characters. The DLC might correct that at least slightly, although the first 2 announced characters are too new for my liking. I need Jumping Flash and Vibri!

I'm not sure that was Sony's choice tbh. I very much doubt Superbot would rather have Snake than Raiden, new Dante than old Dante, Lightning instead of Cloud etc

Obvious !

Superbot deserves a second chance imo if this game is sucessful

Too bad everyone drove him away with that pile-on. He could've provided valuable information
.

Radec is badass. Killed half of the crap characters in an instant

Also obligatory

Sony Smash doesn't look that bad. They could have done a LOT better with the roster. Too many third party characters for games that aren't even out yet and will be multiplatform (and probably run better on 360/PC). Would have been cool if it got classic Crash and Spyro (some of my most played games on the PS1, even if they are multiplatform franchises now that aren't as fun as they used to be).

Cole/Evil cole is silly. Should have had him be a toggle character like Shiek/Zelda or Pokemon Trainer.

Also I dislike the fact that by default they don't surface score and I think the games look a lot more fun with meter build on high.
Hearing you get the Vita version with the PS3 one made me very interested even though I don't have a Vita yet.

Also made me REALLY want the next smash bros.

Also I played Killzone 2 and barely know who Radec is. He's the guy that Rico does that thing to at the end right?

No that's the emperor. Radec is the guy you fight before that as the final boss.

They couldn't. Sucker Punch considers Good Cole and Evil Cole two separate characters.

That has been mentioned hundred of times by now, but it doesn't change the fact that it's dumb. I'd rather not have Cole at all and fill the two spaces with other characters. At least Superbot seems to know that it's dumb and that's why they made Evil Cole's rival Fat Princess.

I played this game for a bit at my friend's house, and, despite how dumb it is, it's still fun, and plays nothing like Smash Bros.

Nathan Drake is a hilarious in that he seems like a Looney Tunes cartoon character, making objects spawn out of nowhere as some of his attacks. It's ridiculous, but funny. If I had this game, Drake would probably be my main.

Also, as a newbie scrub reaction, Level 3 supers are hella cheap. >=[

I rarely use level 3 supers. if you have a good level one you can set it up the right way to get 2 or 3 kills.

C'mon, don't you guys have fond memories of playing through the Columbia level in the PS1 classic, Radec and Clank? If that's not a nostalgic sony memory, I don't know what is.

really impressive how many costumes they made for Roderic. Really goes to show how much effort was put into his characterization.

What in the living fuck has happened to this thread. Have you all gone mad?

One guy was upset that Brad doesn't know who Radec is. Then dozens of posters came out to defend GB against the "SDF", and make several awesome and hilarious jokes about Radec not being a good character or Killzone not being a good game.

In other words, just another GB thread.
