Did I just see a Dove commercial where John Elway actually acknowledge "The Play" from the 80's? Always thought he refused to believe that Cal actually won.

:(

Well it make a second time that Oregon would be #2 in the human polls and be held out of the national title game (2001).

In fact, it'd make a second time that Oregon would be #2 after losing to only Stanford, and be held out of the title game. :O

Wow, they must've paid him a whole bunch of money. He's still totally butthurt about that.

East Coast bias rears its ugly head. :(

It's super-meta to see Joey Harrington AND Mike Bellotti to be telecasting during all of it. Never forget Mike B. telling the cameras 'The BCS is like a cancer' back in... 2001.

:(

If Stanford loses the Rose Bowl and Oregon blows out Notre Dame in the Fiesta then we're officially in a time-loop.

So happy for the Gators getting the win in Tally against the Criminoles. Now its Lane Kiffin's turn. Let's make it happen again, and then we can abolish the BCS for good!

Nope, not necessarily. I am not a Sonycowboy-level expert. ;) This was basically just me doing a quick once-over of the standings, thinking about who loses in a given scenario, and going from there.

It is entirely possible that the computers won't shift enough, or that voters will shift slightly towards UF, and my predictions will be totally wrong.

Florida would be #1 / 2 in the computers with an ND loss. Oregon would need a ton of thins to go their way to pass Florida.

1) Stanford to lose
2) to kill UCLA next week
3) hope voters put LSU ahead of Florida for #3, so Oregon has 2 spots ahead in the human polls with ALOT/almost all of #2 votes.
4) a loss by KSU wouldn't hurt as they're ahead of Oregon in the computers

I think we're probably looking at a 3-1 odds of Florida being next in line if ND should fail.

ok ND, I don't like you, but you get a two game pass to break up this SEC shit

For the Bama fans: rumor out of Cal is that there was serious locker room strife this year, because Allen refused to play unless Maynard was the starting QB. A lot of players felt like Maynard hadn't earned the starting spot, the OL didn't block as hard for him, etc.

Dunno if it's true, but that would explain why he never got pulled even when he was playing like shit. Well, they'll both be gone next year.

all that USC Crowd noise for a 3rd down stop

Offsides for a 1st down

:/

Cyan: Hate to say I called it, but yeah, a top flight player, committed to a top level school for over a year, flips on/near signing day to a midtier PAC school (that happens to receive a transfer of his Brother at the same time...)
