Different for the sake of it.

I flip flop on which version I prefer. With the rules to overtly protect the offense, I'd rather it just be the 15 yard instead of the spot, because teams will just throw it up to gain easy yards.

The college rule seems to create a perverse incentive for DBs, since it will frequently be in their best interest to just tackle the receiver if they get beat on a deep pass. Like, you know, on that play a few minutes ago.
