gaaaaaawddamn that usc game gave me a headache.

fire him. i dont care. im not gonna waste tons of words. just fire him.

that game is all the justification needed.
good lord.

sn: s/o to my Heels giving up 38 to a team w/ a linebacker at qb.

Crazy part about the top 10 right now is that almost all of them have a lot of people coming back.

Also, Kiffin could be gone. That coaching/management during the final USC drive was unbelievably bad.

When ND wins it in a nail biter.

I'll come back and talk some smack.

No really though, the closest thing this LSU fan has to victory is Alabama losing

to a non SEC team

The ACC is garbage this year though. That doesn't really tell me anything.

PS: I think in general this is a down year for college football across the board. There are a lot of previous top 5 teams this turn of the century that I'd like more than any of the 3 teams that will be in the NC game.

Well, it's not like the ACC's great any year. Stereotypically, it's FSU, Clemson, and Virginia Tech. THEN it's the rest of the ACC.

I agree the SEC's having a down year. However they still house the best teams in the nation. Tonight was a testament to that with a UF win over FSU and a SC win over Clemson.

6 out of the top 10 bcs teams in a conference is a down year?

In comparison to the rest of the league, no, however there have been much more talented SEC squads in the past.

Exactly what I was getting at. It's not that 6 out of 10 is bad. It's amazing liky always. Just in general i'd agree with Enfinit that there in general have been more talented SEC squads in the past (and I'd say Non SEC schools as well over the past decade or so).

In general the great teams of this year aren't as great as some of the great teams of past years. I could easily rattle off like 10 teams from the past decade that I'd take over this years big 3.

So what if Bama/LSU/Florida/Georgia/A&M/South Carolina all win their bowl games and complete their streak of being perfect against anyone but themselves?

I think anybody that doesn't take ND in the national championship is a bit of an idiot at this point. I'd love to see Alabama get there just to be slapped down by this team.

On paper Alabama wins but you really can't bet against the Irish. It's just storybook.
Don't you have postgame stuff to do Brent?

:O

At last!

Good Jesus, you guys ended up 7-5? That's... pretty fuckin bad.

So how long do you think Kiffikins has?

Its hard to say. I think the fan base has lost all confidence in him, his play calling in the red zone today was just abysmal. Also that stat someone posted earlier about us being 0-7, now 0-8 when trailing at the half? Yeah that's not gonna cut it.

He might be able to save his job if he forces his dad out and agrees to hire an offensive coordinator.

7-5 isn't a bad year....

Its our worst finish since my freshman year in 01 when we went 6-6 under Pete Carroll in his first year. At least with that year you had a lot more reasons to understand why we were 6-6 (shitty WRs, using a walk on FB as our starting RB, transitioning to Norm Chow offense) and on the plus side in that year we didn't lose a single game by more than a touch down.

So Florida should be number 2. I know they lost to Georgia, but Georgia got blown out by SCAR. Florida went 3-1 against top 10 teams and 4-1 against top 15 teams (FSU should stay in top 15). Georgia on the other hand only played 2 ranked teams all season (3 when they play Bama), went 1-1 and got blown out in the game they lost. Similarly, Alabama has only played 2 ranked teams all season (Michigan won't be ranked, and Miss State is a joke), and they also went 1-1 against ranked opponents.

Even after Alabama and Georgia play in the SEC championship game, that still won't match the 5 top 15 opponents that Florida has faced. Look, I hate Florida as much as the next guy, but their schedule is ridiculous compared to what Georgia or Alabama has faced.

So Notre Dame should play Florida in the BCS championship game, not the winner of the nonsensical SEC championship game.

Too much reasoning. You are ranked based on where you start the season, who loses in front of you, and when you lose. If we lost to Georgia early we would be ranked ahead of them, yes. But then they would jump is in a win over Bama anyways.

Nonsensical SEC Championship game? What, pray tell, makes the SEC Championship Game nonsensical?

This guy gets it. Even with playoffs, college football rankings will always be a joke until pre-season polls are eliminated from everything except sports tabloid rags. USC was #1 before any games were played.

This makes sense within the convoluted logic forced upon us by the BCS, pre-season polls, and the "integrity" of the college regular season. It starts to fall apart, however, once you realize that you're advocating for Florida to be placed above the team that won its conference, even if said team is the one that beat Florida.

Preseason rankings aren't the problem. It's the inherent resistance to the notion that you might have fucked things up with your initial ordering that's the problem. Unless you only release rankings after the the final week of the season, then the same problems presented by a preseason poll will still be present in a poll that is begun after the 4th, 6th, 8th, or 10th week, just mitigated.

We have to get voters comfortable with the idea of being more flexible in adjusting their polls on a week-to-week basis.

I have no problem with no polls until the last week of the season.

This sjsu vs. latech game is entertaining.

Wish we had an 8-game playoff coming after next weekend:

1 Notre Dame vs. 8 Florida State
2 Alabama vs. 7 KSU
3 Florida vs. 6 Stanford
4 Oregon vs. 5 Georgia

Feels good man!

Well, the good news is the game didn't matter. But UCLA is going to have to play way better to have a chance against Stanford this week.
