Origin Thread of trying to get EA games for free

BF1942 is difficult to play when you're used to BF3.

Aim up and right, the game has a way of making you miss your shots. Besides that it is harder but I'm playing it better than I played BF3 somehow. Also cooperation is key to win, the influx of new players with this freebie might ignore this but they'll be stuck on their spot until they discover it.

Just got that Beta update, which has the broadcast functionality. BF3 seems to CTD quite instantly when I try to stream to Twitch.

So Origin is finally giving me problems like everyone else.

Since a few days ago, when I start the Origin executable, most of the times a popup window appears stating that there was an actualization error, and instructs me to go to the EA website to download the latest version of Origin, preventing me to play my damn games.

I do that and when I try to install it it obviously says that I already have Origin updated to the latest version. No shit sherlock.

Some other times, it starts up as usual.

Did this ever happened to you guys?
And if I'll try to uninstall Origin (and install it again), will it also uninstall my games? I don't want to download BF3 Premium all over again.

No one?
Anybody? ;___;

Yep, just move your Origin Games folder elsewhere. When you reinstall Origin, move your folder back to Program Files.

If you manage to get Origin running again, it should autodetect when trying to launch it.

Mirror's Edge is 5 euros on Origin and Bulletstorm is going for 10 Euros, thinking of getting both, but I'm not familiar with Origin; does it have to be running for me to play the games? ...and can the games be modded to improve visual presentation etc?
Sorry not very versed in modding and how Origin works >_>;
Would also appreciate any codes that'll give me discounts on them...and/or Dragon Age Ultimate

Yes you have to boot them up through Origin, but to my knowledge there is not really a mod community for either of those games.

OK so that's similar to Steam. How do the games perform with the max settings possible? I played Bulletstorm on PS3 and wasn't too impressed with the graphics.

I know for certain that you can run Mirror's Edge without the Origin client open (you still need to install the game through it of course), not sure about Bulletstorm but it's probably the same for it too. Only newer games have to actually be launched through Origin.

Ok. I got the $20 need for speed vita deal and recieved the confirmation email. But the game is not in my order history. Is this normal? I'd contact support but don't feel like waiting in a 50 minute queue.

I missed the Steam sale on walking dead... does the Origin copy activate on Steam? I read it was Steamworks so I'm assuming so, but anyone know for sure?

I got an email saying a password reset was requested for my Origin account today, but I didn't request it. I logged out of Origin and logged back in and my password didn't work anymore. Luckily I was able to reset it again, and I reset the password for the email account its tied to as well just in case. That was a scary 2 minutes

Probably a strange question, but I'm desperate here.

I just bought battlefield premium off the EA origin website, finished paying and it says order complete. Then I want to download it but the link that says "I have origin, start downloading my purchases" is coming up with nothing, it's not initiating.

So I've just paid 69.99 for a game that apparently I can't download.

I had purchased an EA bundle from Amazon a few days ago and it came with 5 games, but only 1 of which I only wanted.
Is it possible to give any one of these codes to someone else and they redeem the game?

Any EA game from the last 4 years or so should redeem on Origin. If not, one can always contact their live customer support and they're usually pretty helpful.

Interesting, because I was going based off the comment here:

Bulletstorm came with what I believe is a registration code, but I'll contact their customer support just to double check. Based on this I can get rid of Mirror's Edge and Mercenaries.

How is the Saboteur BTW? I don't know anything about, but did a quick look on TVTropes; I take it there are stealth elements in the game?

...and I don't know what to do with Burnout Paradise lol, part me wants to keep it the other wants to trade it off @3@.

EDIT: Watched a Mercanires 2 vid on YT and it looks cool, but I'd like more impressions about it before I decide to trade it off/giveaway...

Go look for videos on youtube.

I did and they looked interesting, but I've only watched like the first missions or so, if anyone's played them and beat them I'd like to read their impressions. If they're gonna be good I'll keep the codes, otherwise I'll trade them or give them away >_>;

I've completed Mercenaries 2, it's good fun but flawed. Fun war stuff though if that's your bag.

I gave up with the Saboteur, it wasn't very enjoyable.
