Bedlam #1: It starts off feeling like Nemesis, hyper violent, and then gets a little weird, and then gets extremely preachy and boring until almost the end with that press conference seemingly never ending. Not sure how i feel overall.
Finished Osama Tezuka's Barbara yesterday, I really appreciate the ability to even see his works outside of Japan. When I first learned of him years ago I never expected to see this, MW, Apollo's Song among others.
The problem with digital is two fold; pricing (comics should be $0.99 and below) and ease of use (Need to be DRM free PDFs). Until that happens? Not worth it. Why in God's name would I pay $2-3.99 for a DRM restricted version of my comic I can't sell or trade???
Idiot troll Tom Brevoort is trying to come for Madelyne Pryor on formspring. I really hate this guy. What does he know about good comics anyways? I've never seen someone so assured in their shit opinions as Tom Brevoort. Madelyne Pryor >>>>>>> every redhead in comics.
Peter Panzerfaust tpb is in my backlog.....bring on the Hipster art.
Why sell them brah? Just give them to me!
when does ASM #699 come out? Story is so bad but i simply must know what happens next.
Christmas? wutEither the 5th or the 12th. 700 hits the 25.
And Avenging, since its an epilogue!#700 is the 26th. I believe it's the only Marvel comic to come out that week, actually.
I'm amused Binladen Birdie thinks he knows what comic collecting and selling to clear a collection is all about.
Bottom line Junior, I've been reading comics forever and it's reached a point where I need to cull non-essential books from my collection in order to move forward.
Now I'm sure you would be totally cool with trading first appearances of Gambshit and Deadpool with Likes on facebook or something similarly retarded; but if I can sell these to someone who gives a shit? AWESOME! I don't need them and I can use the cash to pay off some bills.
Other stuff will be donated to charity (apologies in advance to whatever charity is on the receiving end).
So yeah, if you want to come at my collection like you know shit then feel free to front.

One bookshelf, the other is a mix of comics, art reference, and game art books:

Six drawer boxes with my favorite runs that need to be culled, and two boxes of unread stuff. Seven boxes of manga:

In order to move forward in life I need to reduce the amount of comic baggage that's being dragged behind me.
Plus my house is a mess and I'm fucking sick of that.
Yeah LOL SELLING COMICS!
Stay free brah!
Is there a reason why Marvel and DC haven't been able to capitalize on the success of their films and increase the sales of their comics? Have they even tried?
Are you shitting me right now? I mean, I know you won't respond to me because you never do when I call you out directly, but I was talking about being able to sell comics. For money. Which I believe is a fools errand that wastes more time than any small (and it would be small) amount of money you'd be able to get on eBay.
Not get rid of comics.
Which I have done, multiple times. I donated four longboxes and eight tote bags of books to my local branch of the Queens Library and I have a box of about 200 which will be heading out to a local shelter.
The fact that you are wrong on this about me is no surprise, as you are constantly and consistently wrong about me on just about everything.
But keep on jumping to your conclusions, Hulk-style, from one madcap desert butte of a misconception to another.

My avx comics sold....then the buyer didn't pay.
Thor: "I was fine with the killer robots, concentration camps, mutant experimentation, apartheid, genocide, terrorism and wars. But throwing rocks on people? Booing!? This has gone too far!"
But what about all the teens and adults who would read them? How do you get them into comic stores? I feel like that shouldn't be an issue anymore because being a "nerd" isn't a thing of derision now.
I feel like there is such a huge opportunity to get more comics out there with digital pricing and the popularity of the characters but no one has capitalized on it yet. I do think it's important to sell them places other than comic stores. Maybe they would get an impulse buy and gain a reader who would eventually venture into a comic store.

MArvel and DC need to market in theaters. those point 1 sampler they make would make good freebies around movie time.
there was a guy who set up a little stand inside my local theater and had Batman, spiderman and avengers comics among others. it attracted a crowd
Following comics requires some baseline of knowledge and effort which most people do not want to deal with.
Or even better, make it a digital kiosk with iPads. That way they don't have to spend money on reprints.
edit: Also, is it just me or are all of the current Marvel NOW! releases kind of boring? Hawkeye is the only consistent performer at this point...
Advertising comics isn't going to change the fact that they're too expensive and you have to venture into a nerd dungeon to buy them (non digitally). There seems to be a broader issue of distribution too. You have to put them where kids are going to be and make them affordable, impulse buys.
So yeah, comics are pretty much fucked.

RIP (non-digitial) Comics
I think there is definitely a place for trades and omnibuses, but for weeklies it just so much easier to deal with digital. Ads don't bleed through pages and you don't have to worry about tossing them when you run out of room. The only problem is that you can't go into a store and skim an issue and see if you want it.

Daredevil #20:
The plot thickens, and Coyote's a cool looking villain.Bullseye's involved in this isn't he...
I think I'd shoot myself in the face the fifth time I bought a digital comic with an Alan Davis cover and Steve Epting interiors.
That's just how it would go down I'm afraid.
The nerd dungeon thing seems to be the biggest issue. It baffled me to read that Diamond has only 3000 customers buying directly from them worldwide. Why they don't try and push that stuff in supermarkets is beyond me.
Damn, is Thor going through puberty in this series?
Come on Cassaday, give him a big bushy blonde beard. Not the frustrated facial growth of a 14 year old.
Eyebrows wouldn't hurt either. Thor just looks weird as fuck there.
Been lurking these threads ever since I got recommendations awhile back, you guys have gotten me back into comics full force. Love you guys!
Oh and Saga and the latest Batman is the best thing ever.
What is up man. Read Demon Knights. It's the best comic that nobody here talks about because it's a DC comic that doesn't have Bat in the title.
