I really need to buy me a vita dock. Wish it had that clock screensaver the Go had though. Any idea if wake up club can act as a deskclock?

she will keep asking for games now. I know because I gave her VLR ,World Invitational and Lumines this morning after she asked for some good games :(

And before you ask..yes I don't have balls to say no.

Gave? Or let her borrow?

If you're going to be giving your games away, might as well do it here on GAF. We'll at least stroke your ego.

One word of warning.

You're going to reach a point somewhere between Episode 6-11 where you start to hate the combat and the controls. It's almost inevitable. Your degree of hate may vary, but you're going to get frustrated to some degree.

Muscle through it. The last half of the game seriously ramps up in terms of story and excitement. The first half of the game took me well over a month to finally get through, whereas the last half took me less than two days. :P SO good.

I'm going to be that guy who says I never had a problem with the controls and I enjoyed the combat from the beginning of the game to the end. Upping up the sensitivity of the gyro controls really made everything a lot easier to control.

Can anyone let me know what is on sale this week for the NISA Sale?

Also, if anyone has a 3month or 12month USA PS+ Sub they want to get rid of please pm me :) Unexpected expenses came up recently so would love to save a little bit :)

Kudos to you! The combat got MUCH more enjoyable once I was one/two shotting everything with my gravity kick, but some of the bosses were pretty shitty
Alias Nevi dragon boss comes to mind
and some areas were annoying...
Like when Dusty gets sick and you have VERY limited gravity gauge - that area was cool in concept, but the ending portion was very clunky.

I imagine a second playthrough would prove to be a joke now that I've got a firm grasp on the controls and mechanics, though.

At least one of the following:

PSP games:
ZHP
Prinny
Cladun2
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

DLC:
Hyperdimension Neptunia DLC
Atelier Totori DLC

We dont know which ones yet.

So you're about 29.6 roughly? I've still got a lot of time to make up on the second and third corners. We'll see

29,551 yeah

Kinda crazy though, we are now all top 500 on that track, lol.

Seconded on all but upping sensitivity! Had no problems with default, and all the talk about the game is making me go back, and finish up the challenges and DLC I still have left to do...

I generally hate race challenges in Open world games, and I saved all the ones in THIS game for last, but there is a nice feeling about totally figuring out what one was doing wrong, and then 100% ace'n these arcadey little trials.

*groan*

Now I can't even get back to my own time let alone 0.4 or 1.1s quicker! :P

lol, when I first started playing that track a while ago, I had some issues getting below 37 sec in the first few tries >_>

My daughters found a chess set at my parents over the weekend, so I spent some time teaching them the rules and I'm now really tempted to pick this up. I know how to play but have never really played it.

This supports asynchronous online, right? Can you also play two player on a single Vita?

Asynchronous online play, yep. And 2 players can also play on the same console.

how are hlthe graphics? is it a good chess game, not only janky top down?

I love chess. if you give an honest impression/assessment, ill consider getting it tomorrow.

itd be fun to play too, with a friwnd who also likes chess.

Alright, some impressions. Lets start off with the basic features:
bNsCO.jpg

There are offline modes, either vs the KI in exhibition or tournament matches, or as hotseat vs another human. Of course it also has the asynchronous play. Extras is nothing of importance, just credits etc.

The 38 tutorials look like this:

..and they serve as a rudimentary introduction to the game and chess itself. It explains how to move & use the cameras as well as some chess principles as En Passent. Its nothing fancy, but most of the time they let you do one move yourself that shows what the tutorial is about, so its not only dry reading (for anyone still learning chess).
There are also 100 "check mate in...moves" challenges, ranging from 1 to 5 moves. What I also like is that they have about 20 difficulty levels ranking from Monkey to Grand Master. Even beginners should be able to play at least on Monkey I assume because its rather forgiving, so it might be a nice first foray into AI chess for someone.

The game also keeps track of your stats, so you can look up how many times you did the En Passent, won games or whatever. Its also interesting to note, that you can actually save matches to rewatch them later if you want. Oh and, I turned them off for the screenshots (select I believe), but there are also boxes on the side that will use the standard notes for every move done so far: "Ka2" etc.

There are 3 different views:

The first one is top down, second one is sort of a free camera that I usually tilt a bit to one side while playing, and the last one is sort of the cinematic camera for taking pictures that lets you center on a single chess piece, for example:

The chess sets are pretty varied, and they also have different "textures" so you can decide to play with stone, marble or wood pieces. It looks really nice.

Now onto my gripes with it (2 and 3 arent really that important, just personal preferences I guess):
1. When I played yesterday night, one setting got the game to dip the FPS count a bit. Nothing severe/game breaking, but noticeable enough that I was a bit disappointed. Tried another table after that which didnt seem to have the same problem.

2. I am missing piece interaction. Like when the pieces are moving and hitting an opponents piece, the other one simply disappears. I would have loved to see them interacting and actually knocking the other piece over.

3. Not all that important, but still a bit annoying: In the third view mode you can tilt the view by using the right analog stick AND the gyro sensor, which makes finding a sweet spot for a photo a bit difficult as you cant hold it completely still.

All in all, I'd say its a really nice looking game that does everything a chess game is supposed to do in style with some minor downsides that definitely is worth 7,99€ if you have someone to play it with. Make sure to buy the Halloween pack, instead of the base game, though, as it contains the Halloween set for free. Might be a limited offer until tuesday.

Yeah, controling gravity is tough, haven't really got the hang of it yet. But it's fun!
And man, that music. Menu theme makes me think of Grandia for some reason.

For the longest while, Gravity Rush reminded me of Resonance of Fate, and I couldn't figure out why. Partly the world, yes. But then I discovered it was the same composer who did the music for both games.

Music is so powerful. <3

GR music is very good. I really should complete that game.

If you complete the game you'll have a big musical surprise

I guess I had played so much Shattered Horizon on PC that Gravity Rush was completely natural. I loved the combat and controls throughout (and have stick sensitivity to maximum).

Why is very one so desperate to sell of PSASBR

Yeah, I dont quite get that either. Its seems like a fun game that looks great and plays really well with lots of unlockables.

It's a fun game. £40 for it was alright so if i got it for free i definitely wouldn't mind. Kind of sad that people won't even give it a go when they got it for free :S

My PSASBR arrived Friday but I waited to start it because of ACIII Liberation. Now that my ACIII Liberation savefile is corrupted because of that famous bug I can pass over it and start All Star (and Most Wanted)

Well some people might already have bought it for the PS3 (or planning to) and YOPO being in play. So at this stage it's pointless NOT to sell it if you qualify the above criteria.

Thats true, yeah. We sort of meant the people who didnt own it before though ;)
But whatever, its 20$ they can spend on a game that they might really want.
