So first Giant Bomb copies Idle Thumbs by having a Scoops and now they want to start talking about Far Cry?

Pretty sad how far they've fallen that now they're just a poor mans Thumbs. Remo and co must be laughing so hard.

Even if the "game" part is kind of lame and it has the save bug on PC that TT don't seem to care about fixing they get the "friend of the site" bump which is a big help this year since there is not real stand out game from anyone else and no one in the office other then Jeff will even bother playing Far Cry 3.

Man, it's getting less and less likely that they'll play Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing :(

Hopefully they'll get Jeff in on some of that Sega Model 2 Games (Fighting Vipers, Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic The Fighters) this wwek.

They've been willing to mostly ignore gameplay issues in favor of story or "feel" for past GOTY debates (see Skyrim, GTA/MGS), so they could very well decide on Walking Dead. Of course that'd be giving it to the wrong barely a video game this year.

It was kind of amazing last year how practically the entire crew picked Saints Row The Third as their #1 game in their personal lists, but Skyrim ended getting picked as GOTY. Must've been Brad's reality distortion field in effect.

He said he probably would not too long ago, but the last bombcast he made it sound like he was going to choose between it and some other games (like ZombiU), and he was going with ZombiU.

As long as they pick the game they feel is the GOTY, not the one they think should be, it will be fine.

Skyrim beating SR3 is still bullshit.

And I say this as someone who doesn't like SR3. Well, or Skyrim, actually. SR3 was blatantly their game of the year.

Nah, it was blatantly Jeff's, Ryan's and Vinny's GOTY.

Then Ryan turned traitor for whatever reason.

Not really. Ryan admitted later on that he wished he had chosen SR3 over Skyrim and felt bad about it. Brad basically railroaded the discussion and made it clear he wasn't going to budge: either give in to his demand of Skyrim GOTY or sit in the podcast room forever.
