K whoa I just had something happen while playing gravity rush. Vita black screened and said an error occurred and PS Vita will be shut down. Sat there for a minute then shut down. Has this happened to anyone?

Lost about 10 minutes too since last auto save. Game is awesome BTW. But I'm sure most here know that already.

The Warriors is AMAZING. Fans of beat-em-ups and/or Rockstar Games must buy.

hmm just to check. the way the top right hand notification centre works.. you won't get a notification within the game/store right? i skipped the tooltip :/

Notifications can happen while you're in a game/the store. I'm sure there's a way to turn it off though. (edit: 10 seconds quickly searching confirms that you can)

Decided to dust off my PSP GO which was seriously dusty, charged it a bit then turned it on.

I think I've been too spolied by the vita as the screen looked ancient, tiny, low res and interlacing was very obvious.

It was like I picked it up for the very first time, I even forgot how to use it. I started off using it like it had a touchscreen!

The vita is in a league of its own. Don't take it for granted!.

So anyway, I put it back and probably won't turn it on again lol.

Back on topic. I've heard only good things about the warriors, so I'm going to check it out now. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me when I turned on my old school ipod touch compared to the new retina displays now on the iphone. I couldnt believe the screen looked so low res.

you can listen to music in background but only in offline mode. so made your playlist available offline, then go to offline tab and play the music, when you go to vita homescreen, web browser or other game, the music will still be playing.
Yep, found it. Thanks!

Wipeout is such a good game, beautiful graphics and great soundtrack. I can't stop playing it, I'm neglecting my other titles.

I'm looking at buying a new title soon, should I get P4P or Virtues Reward?
Ok wipeout is puresex
Wipeout is as sexy as Amy, its Community Manager : http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2...r__fitter__feisar__by_aminakajima-d51rk9h.jpg

You're a good person.

It deserves to be restated that Wipeout 2048 with the Fury and HD expansions is amazing on the Vita. At the moment I'm dividing my time between Pure, Pulse and 2048 (with HD and Fury). So good.

I was thinking this morning guys and it's crazy, we can get such good looking titles on a portable right now. Imagine in like 20 years, we could be playing current high end PC game in our pocket.

That is what vita embodies for me. Pure technological grunt. It impresses every day that I can sit on a bench in the park and pull out this pretty small device then play a game that looks, runs and controls better than games of last gen.

Golden Aybss: Platinum!

Now to get Jet Set Radio and Gravity Rush I guess... Gotta back up the save for Uncarded first though.
Got the plat myself today. Saved the crushing run for last and I posted in the OT for the game that the fucking Guerro final boss swipe shit was annoying me to no end. Gave up last night and got lucky finishing it this morning. I hated the touch screen stuff in the game. Menu navigation as well being all touch screen was a pain.

My first vita platinum though. It's kind of tradition now that I plat all uncharted games. Was disappointed to see the jet set trophies suck balls. I'll get to that and wipeout after I finish gravity rush.

That last boss fight was crazy. How could they green light that, it was all swiping. Other than that the game was enjoyable. I take it you get a trophy going through it on a harder difficulty level?

Same, similar to the Ass Creed games for me. Which is why my last purchase of this year is AC3:Liberation so I can finally go through AC3 and Liberation together and see what content they both bring to the other.

You platinum the Ass Creed games? I haven't been able to, not willing to platinum them since AC2.

What made that fight completely fine is when I stopped using my thumbs for the swipes and switched to my index finger. After that, the game had no problem detecting my swipes.

And yeah, the Jet Set Trophies do suck balls... though I think it's more of an issue with the core game's structure IE: not being to replay levels, etc.

Bend definitely need a second go at Uncharted without launch title constraints. Native res, no touch screen gimmicks, better level design and it would be practically perfect. Golden Abyss has too much rubbing bs (I did a double take when finding the sword) and murky level design that often doesn't convey the main path well enough to encourage straying from it to explore. Too much tedious traversal backtracking is also a big problem the design suffers from.
Despite all that I still find it to be better than 3 and I am still amazed that a handheld can accomplish a graphical experience at this level.

On crushing they throw in these cheap new surprise directional swipes that you never see before in any other difficulty level. They are guaranteed to catch every single person off guard and are meant to make you die basically at least that first time. It's a really cheap kick in the nads by Sony Bend. The speed at which the prompts come up on crushing are really fast as well. Then your hand gets all sweaty and you can't even swipe in a smooth motion and then it doesn't register the swipe and urgggggh. I want to forget that shit forever. Almost ruined such a great game otherwise.

I was always using my index finger.lol Using thumbs seems super awkward to me.

And yeah Assassins Creed games have fairly simple trophies albeit time consuming with all the treasures and other collectibles you have to search for.

He Vitabros, I'm pretty sure that's gonna be old news but Rocketbirds is coming to Vita Q1 2013 :

I enjoyed it in PS3, it's gold!

Not sure if native res, but now that they have the engine running on Vita, that they don't have the launch title constraints (date, not final SDK, not final hardware), I'm pretty sure that the second one will be technically way better.

They started Golden Abbyss when U2 was early on development, so they missed the best part of Uncharted, these spectacular cinematic WTF moments of U2 and U3 where shit got real or to have way different settings in the game. I'm pretty sure that for a Golden Abbyss sequel they'll learn for it and will add them because before they started GA they only had U1 as reference.

I agree that the game had too much touchscreen gimmick. It's great to use it in puzzles, as an optional control to do platforming, climbing or some melees. And the puzzle of the invisible ink was amazing. But they abused of making it mandatory for all melee attacks and for the stupid minigame of cleaning every single shit you found. These things were ok but don't about abuse of them and please let us use the traditional controls as optional way to do these moves. So I think it's easy to fix this part.

I also hated that the photo camera was too strict, so I avoiding using it. Please don't make the 100% mandatory, leave it for a trophy and let the users complete the pictures with something less hard, a 80% or so. Because to stop to take pictures too much time breaks the pacing of the game.

Other than these minor things I think they did a great job, and the game looks amazing, has very good controls and fits really well in a portable, which never had such a game as impressive like this one.

Does anyone have Virtua tennis and want to boost the multiplayer trophy? I have won about 200 matches, ranked in the top 500 and still nowhere near the trophy.

Abstergo Employee of the Month is the only hard trophy in the multiplayer bits. All the rest are grind or easy to get for the most part. But yeah, I'm 100% in AC2, AC2:Brotherhood, AC2: Revelations and starting into AC3/AC3:Lib.

I completely forgot about the photo ink puzzle. My jaw dropped when I saw it. Then I quickly came to not like it. I found the light needs to be super bright. Holding it within an inch of my bedroom light would not get the % bar moving at all or just 1% at a time. I went and got a flashlight and the % filled up in 2 seconds. That was a bit annoying although kind of cool for a split second.

I'm confident these gimmicks won't be there if a sequel is made. I can understand Sony may have pressured to add them to showcase what the system can do as it was their first big launch title for the vita.

Well the ink puzzle idea was great for me, I'd like to see some few puzzles more of this style in the game. What I found too shitty was to need the 100% when taking pictures to the in-game places (landscapes, certain objects, etc). There were too much and they required too perfect shots. Just reducing their number and to make the accuracy of the shots more forgiving would be ok for me.

Uh, the photos weren't that hard. Zoom x n.n is where they want you to zoom to the n.n level (so like 5.0 they want you to zoom into the 5 bar or slightly above/below that) and then take a photo of what they want you to take a photo of.

Issue was activating that segment more than anything if you know where you were supposed to take the photos. Go to the activation area and... nada.

I never had any problems with the photos, all were 100% the first time I tried. The game told you what zoom level you needed so it seemed easy.

The light thing was a neat idea but I had my phones LED light an inch away from the camera and it didn't do much. It needs to be easy to do and it needs to work every time.

As for the gimmicks, if they make a second Uncharted game I would like to see the swipe boss fights dropped and the balance sections dropped.

I fell in love with Gyro aiming, I liked the grenade throwing, the bamboo cutting was infrequent enough not to care and it wasn't part of the main story, the zooming for the sniper and camera was great use of the back touch, the charcoal rubbings were fine. I didn;t use the climbing path drawing or the rope climbing but because I could use the buttons they can stay.

The next game doesn't have to be be native, LBP isn't native but looks much better just because it's got some AA on it.

Oh, and let me use the fecking buttons on the menu.

All this talk of Uncharted: GA and the new patch made me want to go back and finally get my Platinum (only had a couple of weapons, some treasure and those damn bounties to get) and after downloading it and trying to copy my save file over it now says its corrupt so i have lost all my progress!

Gonna have to start again which is real shitty but I don't mind too much since its a great game.

Well, apparently we'll know soon. But I highly doubt its a Vita game. iOS seems way more likely.
Edit: Actually any platform seems way more likely than Vita.

Edit2: Super random top of the page recommendation:

HISTORY Egypt Engineering an Empire
Its a PS Mini. I was looking for some strategy games and this one seemed to fill the niche nicely. Its not the most aesthetically pleasing game, but it still has a surprising amount of depth. Gameplay can sort of compared to a simplified Civilization without the "tile effects" that you work on. You build different buildings in your city that give you bonusses for units, gold income, city inhabitants etc, and then send them out to conquer the enemy cities. I'll delve into that a bit more in depth at a later point, definitely scratching a certain strategy itch though. It was cheap too, like 4$ or something?

Oh yeah, btw. Random WiiU comparison:

I saw the WiiU a while ago today and the bigger screen really is nice. But the graphical fidelity of the WiiU gamepad is a difference of night and day to the OLED Vita screen (not that I expected anything different). However, one thing that really surprised me was the load times. I am sort of used to the the instant Vita load times between apps. You know when you are in a game, press the home button and get to the main menu instantly? That takes about 5-10 seconds looking at a rather boring loading screen on the WiiU. Makes me appreciate the Vita even more in that regard.
