Well even if they are not online the people you'll meet will be random. I would give online dating more of a chance.

I certainly have given it a chance. I've met exactly two gay people in my life I would be interested in dating naturally so at least I had some volume of people to consider. Online, I met a few people I liked who all have broken my heart and then a bunch of chaff I've either had blah hook ups with or strung along in kind of pretend relationships.

I'm curious what sites you guys use as I've been out of it for awhile. 4 years ago I was using gaydar.co.uk and manhunt but it seems grindr has taken over. I'm not in the US so keep that in mind.

Well, I bit the bullet years ago and embraced the club/online scenes, a) because I wanted to meet gay friends/guys/get laid/find a husband, and b) because I found myself actually enjoying those locales.

But even if you hate those spots, it might be worth it just to socialize and meet good new friends who you can then primarily hang out with at other places, like game nights, or pubs, or movie nights, or what have you. Just treat the places you hate to go as gateways to meeting people. It's just tough to break the first barriers down unless you're in a place like a club or a bar or online. They're facilitators, and they can remain just that if you want them to be.

I speak from a privileged position I guess, having had mostly great experiences (although some terrible ones too). Going online and out to gay hot spots has furnished me with amazing experiences and some of the best friends in my entire life.

Saying yes to so many forks in the road has gotten me out of my shell, and a series of decisions led me down a road to where I've met this current guy I'm seeing right now. It's...going quite well. ('nother date this weekend. I'm pumped)

Apparently Facebook now has a way to see who's your #1 stalker. At the moment it's limited to friend list (thank God!). But if you FB stalk anyone, beware.

I've spent more time than needed in the cesspool of gay clubs and the gay people I meet online never have similar interests to me and I've spent a loooooot of time there over the years. Don't think I've made any lasting contacts online, not one.

I'm surprised this hasn't always been a feature. It seems like a great way to find secret admirers.

I've met some pretty awesome friends from online and even some from clubs.

The good ones come from groups that meet semi-regularly in some fashion and have something in common -- Videogames, volunteering, reading, or wahtever.

I don't have a Facebook, so I do all my creepy stalking in person. It toughens me up.

Interesting. #2 is a guy that I don't even freaking know. He knows my parents, but I don't think he's even on my friends list. WTF.

WAT? Are you sure? That means he must take a look at your profile so many times to override all of your friends' profile views of your page.

I don't have any strangers looking at my page ;_;, Well, not to the point where they are in my top #10 or anything.

I just checked mine, and it looks like its my friends closeted
(I think)
younger brother that looks at my profile the most.

Well, I mean, if he's hot and can still get it up, why not?

I don't know man. I guess Dylan McDermott is still hot at 50 so yeah, he may still be hot at 60. But we're not talking about Dylan McDermott here, are we?

If this thing spreads I'll deactivate my account to save my reputation.

Facebook never forgets though. It also doesn't really delete your profile. It most likely still remembers your Facebook number. XD

Yes he's legal(22) and cute. But I don't usually go for younger guys. :P

What is wrong with you?!!! XD

i was surprised that my pops wasn't the first person on the list considering how he wants to know every detail of my life, haha. i was pleasantly surprised by some of the people who came up. :p

use two browsers! then you can do both at once!

you're such a noob creeper, replicant! Get with it!

I'm learning. Please teach me, Sensei.

Hmm, I found the profile of the hot guy who always stare at me while I use the treadmill. He's a hot creeper.

First two are friends from college that I love, then my little bro, then some friends I made recently (this summer) and finally my crush/friend in #8.

I really doubt that's ordered by stalking, ha.

How do you see this shit?
Check this thread. There's a little javascript page to make it a bit easier to do if you scroll down the page.

It's already been debunked though:
"This list is NOT the list of people viewing your profile the most. This is just an array of user ID that is used when you start to type stuff into the search box. Facebook pre-loads the data so that your search results appear instantly. So these user IDs are simply the people/games/groups/etc that YOU most likely to search for.
There are a number of applications, groups, and games are in my list - are they really stalking me? Of course not.
"

This makes the most sense from that script^

It makes no sense why Facebook would store anything related to page views.

EDIT: Yep i'm pretty sure its this. Put a single letter in the search bar and you will see those top people pop up.
EDIT2: This is a pretty interesting algorithm.
However it is possible that some of the results are weighted by whether they have viewed your profile a lot - but then again, it could also just be someone with a lot of 'mutual friends' or some other such parameter.

Lol at the facebook thing, that info is very sensible, while I'm sure they do track who do you stalk, they would never be so clumsy as to leave traces of it in the source code of the page, or at least I would hope it was the case coming from the devs at facebook, who should be at the top of their game.

Dylan McDermott doesn't look 50. huh. He doesn't look hot either, though.

Could you check if he's on your friend list?

Yeah, he is. I think he sent me a friend request a long time ago because he's apparently a distant cousin or something.

I meant gay ones of course (provided they exist).

You fancy city people.

To check who stalks me I'd have to log onto Facebook. I'd hate to break this long abstinence spree I'm on.

(It'd probably be some relative anyway. None of my friends try to contact me on that thing.)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really miss your old avatar. Cringing at your avatar was a fundamental part of reading your posts.
